Hey there, Just wondering what was the problem with the M200iii? I have the M200Mkiii+ They're wonderful. Though sometimes when using optical and trying to decode surround sound, i get a really bad crackling issue, but if i put the source to stereo it fixes it. Also my remote mutes sometimes when i try to turn it up, Not a deal-breaker as they are some of the nicest sounding and looking speakers I own, I have Jamo Concert 8's and they look beautiful aswell.

I won't argue with that. But Wilson audio is also in a slightly different price bracket.

Still got the 500’s? Any updates? Do they offer a software update, to remedy the bass issue? I have the chance to get some new 500’s at a good price. The 300Mkii’s are out of stock. Probably because they are better?

Do some research on the woofer specs. Replace coils on the x-over should allow lower bass,

​@@ronwebb9249 you can't really do that with these speakers as they don't have any passive crossovers. All of the drivers are separately amplified with the signals actively crossed with dsps. Theres a total of 6 separate amplifiers in these big bois.

Well, i got Edifier R2850DB and it got sub-out. Once anything plugged into that sub-out port, the speaker would go into "sub assisted" mode, with the sub crossover point around or at 100Hz. The thing that sucks is that you can't adjust that crossover freq. Other speakers from Edifier like R1850DB, 1855DB, and maybe the models that R2850 replaced (R2800DB, and R2750DB) also has sub out. In that case you feed your input to your speakers first, then from speakers to your sub. For Edifier S Series, it has balanced inputs and also Aux In (RCA input) and that is what you need to add subwoofer. Some subwoofers take stereo input (L+R) and then relay out the crossovered output to your speakers via 2 balanced output port, just feed them to your speakers input. In this case your input is fed to your sub first, and then it goes to your speakers.

Look at Z’s video on how to add subs. Theres a powered speaker section. He has a sub with a frequency cut off switch. Running the signal from a DAC, into the sub, then out of the sub to the powered speakers. With the switch set at 80Hz, it only passes higher frequencies above that to the speakers, and the sub handles the lows. SVS do a sub with the same facility. Z stated that its very rare, but very useful in unlocking the speaker from constantly trying to drive down to hit the lows. The sub removes those frequencies from the signal passed on to the speakers so it unlocks its potential. Usually, even with a sub out, the speaker is still being told to drive low, as it receives the same signal as the sub.

Well done. I own a pair of towers that were somewhat famously described as "perfect speaker for psychos". I find them to be about right.

I’m thinking of using them as stand alone stereo speakers for music and movies with my large screen projector set up. This video was over a year ago now. I’m wondering if theres been any updates or modifications?

wonder if these would be good PA speakers for an outdoor event area that don't want the shitty concert speaker sound.

98% of Swan are active. The M5a and M3a are just a higher end design even though they don't cost much more.

In order : M5A, M3A MKII, M3A, M500, M300 MKII and M300. The M300 is the only 2 way from everything I just listed. And anything with a '5' doesnt have an MKII.

I lost like 200 Sound Demos from RU-vid. That is why I placed all sound demo's behind a safe PayWall on Patreon and SubscribeStar. Its currently Audio-Only re-uploads but its at least available.

Wouldn't setting the source at a low level volume and controlling it via the amp put more "usage/stress" on the amp? Not that its a bad thing, the amp is supposed to be used I know, I've always just wondered this. Correct me if im wrong, but setting the source to 80%-100% is ideal I believe.

Yeah, I spoke to them about small issues with my M200Mkiii+ and they didn't reply to me about a replacement remote (remote would randomly mute when using volume control) and when hooked up to my Ps3 when surround sound was active they would spit out this death static noise, but I figured if i set the ps3 source to stereo it fixes it, But it sounded awful when it was pumping out the static noise, I thought they were gonna break. Other than that, they are amazing speakers, Looks, Sound, Build. Go Swan! But yeah better customer service

Yeah I am 100% demonetized with Sound Demos and I'd say 25% with speaker videos. No real way around it.

There are multiple reasons why. Active crossover vs passive crossover. The distance between amp and speaker units. And there are way more reasons why most active speakers will outperform passive ones.

@@iknowyounot88 Well, when i made that comment, i only had watched the first 2 minutes of the video, only watched the rest latter. And the comment was not meant to be taken 100% seriously, it was a joke and was also meant as a caricature of the person i am. So, i was exaggerating a little, but that´s the type of person i am. Most of the things that Zeos said may apply to normal people, but not to me. I do not only like it loud, i need it loud. For you to have an idea, my only sound system currently consists of a pair of Adam T5V monitors, with a Fioo headphone amp which i use as preamp, connected to the computer. I have the speakers no more 40/45 cm (less than a foot and a half) from me, and directed towards me. I listen them usually at levels close to the max, and sometimes full max. They are rated to put out 106 dB at 1 meter, so they must be reaching more than 112 dB, maybe close to 115 dB, where i sit. So, if i were to use these Swans in the living room, they would be maybe some 10 feet away from me. And for them to reach way above my listening levels at that distance, they would have to reach way above 120 dB, close to 130 dB, at 1 meter. If that is not the case (i doubt it), then what Zeos said about them being way too much loud does not apply to me, only to normal people. Having said that, i admit that after having watched the whole video, i became very curious, to the point where i want to listen to them, just to make sure. Because if i´m wrong about what i said above, these may be the right speakers for me. The problem is that in my country, i cannot have access to them, not even to buy, let alone to just listen. And that´s a shame...

volume controls are hard to code it seems, or they forget to do it... i dont know but a good volume control is hard to come by after the normal volume knob is rare. best digital volume i experienced so far is my minidsp shd studio, its damn near perfect. knob is the best and the remote is pretty good. either way its a perfect match for controlling active speakers, with the swans use the digital coax input.

I tried all the ways. I did every increment on the clock for both knobs in both directions.

I have these speakers. Have had them for a few months. Like Z said, They have beautiful sound, Great Clarity, and the dsp tune on them is magic with the knobs cranked. But they are beautiful like a thunderstorm. You sit on your front porch with a beer and hear the rolling thunder and it sounds beautiful when it's miles away. These are what it would be like if your front porch was inside the thunder storm. It Is SOOOOO much sound. Honestly, I love them because I'm one of those people who have certain songs that I just cant listen to loud enough because I want to drown in the music, these are like a freaking ocean dropping on your head which is exactly what I want. These will be too much for most people. This was a perfect review and exactly how I would describe them. Great sound, but you need a LOT of space because the sound that comes out of these guys is BIG.
