It depends on the gearing and tires and weight distribution. And the voltage of the system. Higher voltage obviously is faster, but the dirt bike might just have higher volts which always means higher price, and it might have more low end torque but it might be way louder to ride around on the street at a higher speed. I'd rather have a quiet ride. And it's better to have a running start and get the bike rolling rather than forcing it to start from a standstill, your battery and motor and bike will last way longer if you do.
More power equals faster battery consumption. I live in a area where bike trails are easy to go up on. So I can get more miles opposed higher amp consumption just to run a flat surface.
if you switch out the controller, the motor on the road bike can take a bit more current and voltage, and will drag you up that hill. If its a geared motor, thats good as well. Its prettey much the controller and the battery thats the biggest limiting factor. Drill a few holes in the motor casing to help cooling. I've had about 30-50 Amps at 36V through the standard wires on a 36V, 250W 'rated' motor with the wires on that motor. Best if you thicken the wires to keep pushing higher current through it though. Or just get a bigger motor.
And that’s a 4,000 dollar surron that’s overkill for anything you’d need. They are made for fun. Compared to a probably 1-2 thousand dollar e-bike made to stay within legal limits as a daily commuter
It's not a little bit more. A Surron is like 5 timss more expensive than a normal e-bike. It's like saying you should pay a bit more and upgrade from a Versa to a Porsche.
@@BokiRS ▪️ Yea, but someone could carry an extra battery or two... But then of course that takes up space & adds alittle weight. I understand gas is better overall. 🟥
Ignoring the fact that the first one never pretended to be "a dirt bike," now compare the 2nd one to any random gas dirt bike, to continue the irrelevancy!
As a SurRon rider myself. I’d say go for the investment. If you want it get it. I was hesitating for months until I just bought it and it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made!!
A few problems with this video: 1. You compared an E Dirt Bike to an E Bike 2. You gave the E-Dirt Bikr a head start 3. Who tf is taking an electric bike off-road?
