🤦‍♂️How to remove fords "mykey " (speed ,radio ,seatbelt) limiter feature on ford, truck, car,suv 

So basically I can just get another spare key from a locksmith and just reset it with the new “admin” key?

Well I believe most Ford’s come with two keys From the dealership.. if you have programmed all your keys to the mykey feature.. you probably need to get another new key or take a trip to the dealership and have them bypass the program and erase stored keys .. hopefully that helps ya!!

@@jesusacosta2011 Thanks - I saw that one too. I don't have keyless start so it doesn't work. I tried covering FOB with tin foil to mimic the key's departure from the vehicle but it didn't work. I'm going to have to just pay the dealership to fix it.

@@jesusacosta2011 I tried that as well already. Connect to the truck fine and run through all the steps, but still doesn't work. At least with the connection I was able to disable most of the "features" so now only the 80mph speed limiter is still on. Luckily I live in Hawaii where there aren't many roads that you can go on that fast. Let me know if you get it to work and what you did.

all I can say is the administrator key is just any other key you have that came with your vehicle, (you get 2 keys ) hopefully you didn't program into the "my key" system ..in the video im generally referring to fords 2019 and newer .. so if u dont see nothing in any of the menus stating "my key" then your vehicle may not have that feature.

Yes any other key u have. Will work to allow access to the my key menu. Because that key that is already programmed into the my key system will not allow you access..

Yeah the administration key is actually just (any other key 🔑 u have for ur car) . That is not currently been programmed into my key system.. if all the keys u have for ur car is somehow programmed into the Mikey system. A trip to the Ford dealership is the next step ..

@@kof20024ever the administrator key means any other key you have that has not already been programmed into the my key system.. so if u only have 1 key and it doesn’t allow you to access the my key menu. A trip to the ford dealership is necessary for them to delete all keys and reset the system.

In my opinion. U have two chooses. One buy another ford programmed key 🔑. Or just have your local ford dealership reset everything for you $$$ .. the my key program was designed so a teen driver couldn’t override this feature as it would keep them “safe “ and a parent would be in control with the other provided keys

Well it’s designed so the teen driver wouldn’t have the ability to erase the parents input .. so the other key the parent would have that’s not programmed.. unfortunately u need to head to the ford dealership have them reset the computer or get a new key. Each option is expensive to do unfortunately.

yeah. i think the my key feature was designed for teen drivers..but it’s annoying to everyone else. lol 😆

well kind of . because the system was designed so that the teen driver key 🔑 wouldn’t be able to override the parents limiter.. i believe your next option is to visit your local the ford dealership. they can rest the system for a price or buy another key. its all going to cost 💵😬

in order to gain access to the my key menu..you can use any other the other keys provided with the car.. ford always gives 2 keys..so unfortunately it looks like you will need to purchase another key to do this ..so one you would give to your" teen driver "and then the parents would keep the other key (that hasn't been stored in the my key program)..

If it’s not allowing you to access the my key menu . The key you’re using is already programmed into the my key system . So u have to get another key or head over to ur local ford dealer for a computer reset..

You need another key that is not already programmed into the my key system . If u have just one key and you can’t access the my key menu in the dash. That key is already programmed and can’t be used to deactivate the my key system. U will need a new key or a trip to the dealership to reprogram the system

Which ever key that hasn’t been recognized by the my key system will work. You will know which key works by it allowing you to access the my key menu on the center display. If they both are recognized by the my key system. Then unfortunately a trip to the dealership will be necessary

You have to purchase another key from the dealership or go to the service department and have them reset the my key program.. unfortunately both options are kinda pricey.

The my key system is designed to limit the volume and speed of your teen driver to a predetermined level.. if you’re using a key that is currently activated in the my key system you will not have access to the settings..

#1 .this video is for 2019 and newer fords f150.. #2. the administrator key is actually any other key that came with the your ford that has (NOT) already been programmed into the my key system 3. there is no way to access the my key reset menu with a key that has already been programmed into the my key system . if you have ,then u mostly likely just programmed the “administrative” key into the my key system. now all the keys u have are limited. a trip to the dealership is ur only option …for them to reset the system or u purchase a new key 🔑..

My key is a user friendly program that someone can easily use and set up or delete as necessary .. What you’re talking about involves an ecu reprogramming .. which is typically reserved for performance , sports cars etc But u can certainly search online and see if anyone does an ecu programming for your Ford Escape.. I’m totally clueless if they do 🤷🏼‍♂️

Im not exactly sure about the screen or menu options. But for starters. Make sure ur using a key thats not already programmed. Most fords come with 2 keys. So any key thats not programmed into the my key system will allow u access to a menu delete/ add keys. You would have to investigate/ try different keys to seen if anything different pops up on ur dash display.. but if u have the money ford dealer can reset the system for u $$$ .. hope this helps 🤞

yes ,it should work if its a ford factory made key .. so any other key you have thats not been used or programmed into the my key system will allow full access to the my key menu ,so you can then delete all keys currently being stored in the system.

Well the check engine light is a separate issue that should be looked at with an obd2 scanner read any fault codes that are present. If the key doesn’t start the truck then it’s probably not programmed with the truck ,that’s usually a $75 job to sync key to the truck . Now the (my key) is software that has a menu in the center dash display that limits speed, music volume as like a teen driver mode. Once you program the my key to recognize the key inserted in the ignition at that moment. The vehicle will then limit those things mentioned above . Hope this helps you

I’m not 100% sure. But if never hurt to try and see if it does. It’s just the use of the any other key that hasn’t been programmed into the my key system. That allows u to erase the already programmed key

The 2017 -2024 ,fords should have the my key feature . This example is on a 2019 f150

you didn’t say what model or what year you have .. this video usually applies for fords 2019 and newer.. if you don’t see any my key program in the menu your vehicle may not have the feature. 🤷🏼‍♂️ best i can tell you

Yeah its any other key thats not program to the my key system.. so when you get your new key from the dealership. Use that key to start up the car and go thru the dash menu to remove all keys from the my keys log.

@@piscatawaymechanic Ok because Im not sure which one is the admin since the one key I have right now when I turn on the car it only says one MyKey and one admin key so I have yet to add the new one but wanted to make sure the new key I get I was able to use to clear them and not have any limits. Now for the new one will I be able to clear them without making it a MyKey?

Unfortunately in my opinion I would say, just go to the dealership and purchase an original ford key/ remote and have them properly program it into the system.. ebay/ amazon/ online purchased remotes and keys generally don’t work well with oem equipment..

im not sure about anything before 2018 models. but never hurts to give it a try. just make sure to use any other key 🔑 you have available for your ford ,thats not recognize by the my key system..

the key that’s been programmed into the my key system will be restricted to the limits set by the program features.. and u become locked out of the my key settings menu .. so any other available key you have, that’s not been programmed into my key , will allow you to access the my key menu options,
