Lot of Rambling . Should have cut to the chase at the end . Show a chart with the name of the Moderator, List the price, List the Sensor reading. DONE. Then you can disassemble on the topic. Not know why you did not simply show a chart at the end. Do appreciate you doing this, but not know why you failed to show the data at the end.
I think you forgot one variable, a lot of the sound your db meter is picking could be the hammer spring which obviously moderators cannot quiet down. If you move the db meter forward of the gun you will get less hammer spring sound. You can 100% hear the larger moderators quieting the shot down a lot compared to the smaller ones and yet they read similar decibels. Just my two cents.
I owned a 50 ft lb Ripley XL9 in .22 caliber. Came with a 9" x 1.25" Ripley moderator, with felt washers and probably 8 baffles. (NOT the Logun version) It just went "click" very quietly!!! Still the quietest I ever experienced.
Nice work we appreciate it. We can hear the difference in the moderators but I do think your db meter was to close to the rifle and you was reading more hammer to value rather than the exit audio. It would be interesting if you did a video with you db meter mid range to see what carries less. Thanks again.
Nice collection. Hope te see more moderators. The Fox moderators are interesting to look into. Personally I like there Fox600 series. Its a long one. But 1/3 slides over the barrel. Making it stick les out in front. And fits perfectly on an m3 tentionkit barrel
I’m interested in fox as well but they only sell through resellers, two of them, both out of Netherlands and neither ship to the USA because “ USA suppressor laws and that they often get taken by customs even though they are legal”
A great selection of silencers to go at. I think your test is flawed though as so many others I have seen. I think the meter is picking up the hammer strike of the rifle which sounds pretty loud to me. In my opinion you need a board between the meter and the rear of the rifle to avoid the hammer action being picked up. It would be interesting to see if there is a difference. A great video to see so many silencers together. It would have been nice to know how much they cost as well. 👍
👋🏾sup brAh! Thank you for your input! Hammer strike or not regardless the db meter will still pick up the moderator when fired! It’s the end result that matters braddah👊🏾😎
Been aigunning for 48 years. It's simply jaw dropping when you witness a 30 ft lb, or more, air rifle make a simple click sound. And everyone around believes it misfired, including you. So they unscrew the moderator and it goes boom! Screw it back on and "click". I've seen this probably 5 times. Alan Z's moderators did that a few times. I sure wish I understood this
Great test man. I have 3 moderators for my 25 cal pcp air rifles. Buck-Rail is my favorite at $40.00. price is right and gets to my house in 3 days from Texas. DonnyFl Tanto is in second place at $119.00. Airgun Capital comes in 3rd at $28.00. All deaden the sound to an exceptable backyard level between 80 to 84 db. If you are on a budget, just go with the Buck-Rail!
@@airgunspestingch.8426 I’ll reach out as soon as it’s ready.. what’s the best way to reach you? I’m printing a prototype today. We are a Michigan based family business. I design products and sell online. We will print these MJF moderators with a company in Texas once we get to production with them.
Man, I’m glad you like your Vectis and doing a lot of mods and vids with it. Question; another video creator says it installed a Blitz top rail handle on his Vectis. Does this sound plausible without too much modification- like having to drill holes and such. Thanks maaan
I have 4 Buckrail-line moderators they work remarkably well on co2 guns. A lot of the noise of a pcp is hammer bounce and the ping from the compressed air cylinder ringing like a bell Co2 guns don't suffer from ping so they are extra silent, I have 2 of the slip on Moderators which I believe they will stop making soon and 2 of the screw on like in the video on a crosman 2240 you will think your guns broken or lost power it's amazing the slip on cost 18 bucks at one time and the screw on was like 25 bucks now maybe 38 , that's 38 dollars like wow no way 38 bucks . BUCKRAIL-LINE ROCKS
Bruh, you doing big things! All them mods smh. I picked up a wolfairguns mod, years ago, which they made specifically for my Hatsan. It was very inexpensive and quieted my gun waaaaay down (more than a few dB's). The weird thing is the next one I ordered was narrower and not as quiet (?) My question for you is does the two to three dB reduction make the moderator worth the effort? In your opinion. Anyway great review keep up the good work.
👋🏾sup brah! Any moderator will moderate sound some better that others! Moderation depends on the tune of your gun. A 12 fpe gun is quite thru moderation vs a 30fpe plus gun. I hope I answered your question about moderators braddah👊🏾😎
Bro don't jump on the defence, it's obvious your not shooting in the direction of a school... I don't take you for a fool I just found it funny YES FUNNY as you don't say anything but it looks like you just rattle of rounds in the hood...
Your not getting my comment..... I'm not accusing you of anything understand? Your clearly a experienced shooter I never doubted that, get that? I found it funny did you read that? I'm saying what it .... forget it bro this is hard work it was meant to be a "what it looked like" knowing it wasn't and made me laugh...you keep going on about your property.... it's not funny now it's boring.. wow
hey, if you don't mind me asking, what's the size of the thread adapter Terry from Buck Rail put into their moderator? The uni-adapter they provide is very brittle and would like to adapt to brass connector on barrel. I know the printed adapter and suppressor have M20X2 threads, but what should they reduce down to?
I turned the sound off so I didn't have to hear the talking and sound of the action to get a better idea of just the muzzle sound, and to my ears, they were all pretty equally awesome so I think I'm gonna just go with the cheapest one. Also, was this the huma mod 40 or mod 30 ? You mentioned mod 40 when shooting, then mod 30 at the conclusion.
👋🏾sup brAh! In the airgun world its better to say moderator or another word (ldc) lead dust collector than silencer because big daddy is watching us😉braddah👊🏾😎
