Fantastic...straight shooting review ( pun definitely intended 😁). From every angle. Telling the shooting public everything they need and no sales banter. That's why Blackpool Air Rifles are the best....
Most informative. I shall pay you a visit this year. I travel from Scotland to Liverpool twice a year and Blackpool will not be too much out of the way. Cheers.
For me the biggest benefit of having a modular silencer like the Huma is to tune barrel harmonics. Recently got a new rifle and had a 0db which worked great on the old rifle. New rifle was shooting like a shotgun. Put a Huma on and was shooting great... actually had down to its shortest configuration and was just as silent as having 2 or 3 baffles on. But silencers definitely effect barrel harmonics and the ability to have 1 for multiple guns is pretty cool.
Good video as usual👍.Rekindled my use of my air arms 410,bought new when they first came out!.I have had the air arms silencer on it from purchase and wondered after all these years if you could recommend a replacement ,it has never quite been as quiet as I'd really have liked but the rifle is still great. Thanks for your time.😉
@@brimstone260 Cheers,John thanks for the update and advice.Deben whisper🤔 any idea what they retail at or if they're readily available. Thanks for the reply mate ,all the best for the future.Jeff
Nice no bull shit info from folks that shoot and uses the guns/products on offer. It's nice to hear a real review rather than a sponsored or paid for review. I like that it's to the point and if it is shit you will tell us literally its shit or if it's just your opinion... So In summary it's a good old fashioned gun shop with real advice and feedback. From people that have a passion for shooting. The only down side I can say if I'm to be honest is. Your to far away from my house so I cant pop in.. (that's my problem really not yours lol) Spot on fella.
I know . I forget that people can even understand me if they aren't from the UK so tend to use UK terminology, or I just forget as I have no time to rehearse .
Thanks great service new gun bag is great and thanks for info bout my HW80. I'm amazed at how air rifles have changed since I've been away doing other hobbies new guns are incredible but competition aside for practical use what about a springer v a PCP video
The notification on the Huma stating for Air rifle use only is there so they can be sold in the USA without the buyer needing a separate firearms certificate for the silencer.
Nice video and very inciteful. Personally I have my mods made by a chap called Ian 'Blade' Newman. And they are equal to the Weihrauch mods all day long only lighter, shorter and cheaper.
Bit of a price difference with little db change but if it works go for it. I recently had a silencer made for me by a local gunsmith, which on my rapid MkI 12/220 which is realy quiet.
Was wondering what mod to get for my s410. Hopefully I'll be able to go direct to Huggett because by the time I've ordered and paid rfd fees then all the cheaper ones work out just as expensive
I suggest for a future video here or on Hot Air, you get a real db meter, use a rest with measurements at firing point, and down range, I am sure the meters can be hired and do a review of the relative sound reduction of all the major silencers on a few air guns, short barrels, medium and long as well as any changes to poi which will let folk decide on performance, looks surely is secondary unless you have a red wolf and need the red hugget :-)
Absolutely, sound pressure and frequency range are critical to this type of review. Everyone hears differently so unless a large sample of people is taken an 'opinion' is almost worthless. High frequencies carry further and are more annoying to neighbours.....
I would like to see a comparison of a moderator of 15-20 years ago against these such as the Logun. I still have my Logun mod but I’m not able to compare it to the current market lineup
Good review, but they moderate sound, you should have tried all three on the same rifle to let us judge for ourselves, we wouldn't buy a car without first starting up the engine to listen to how it runs, judging for ourselves would have made it a much more interesting video, keep up the good work your reviews are very enjoyable.
It was a quick off the cuff video, but when we get the db meter we will do it properly :) The sound on camera usually isn't much use as you are relying on the camera mic which often doesn't show up the nuances of the different models.
@@blackpoolairrifles9311 thank you for replying, it was just an observation, it would be so much better when metered, try not to do off the cuff, you present very well, put loads of informed information and demonstrations on, match one product against another in practice, you sell guns shoot them in demos and watch your likes and subscriptions shoot up as well as sales, once again keep the videos coming they are very enjoyable
@@andyb6120 your doing a reasonably good job, it was just a small constructive criticism, try not to take it personally, we don't even know each other, as I said it was not personal, Your reply and comments strike me as somewhat immature......my car is bigger than yours yours!!!!!! Really, did you seriously write that to me!!!!! My three sons were in stitches at your somewhat childish reply we thank you for the entertainment, 😂😂😂
I note that some folk get quite excited about a few db difference. Measuring the sound close to the muzzle is very interesting academically but your neighbours or the rabbits don't stand 1 meter from the muzzle. Surely a real world test would be the sound at maybe 20 or 30 meters especially when you consider that sounds at different frequencies are attenuated differently over distance (www.sengpielaudio.com/calculator-air.htm) In other words the usefulness of a silencer is better measured at the target distance. (Unless of course you just buy a silencer for posing your bling around the club house!)
It would be great if the Db meter would pick up the noise from a distance, but they don't . The muzzle noise is drowned out by the ambient noise . Testing the muzzle noise is about the only choice.
Please, please, please keep doing the classic BlackPool Air Rifles videos. When I wish I could walk down to the local shop, I watch these. Is there any way to buy a British (not-overpowered, and original factory) Air Arms TX 200 Mk III .177 in walnut?
Does adding a silencer effect the accuracy? I just bought a red wolf, it’s fantastically accurate. I’d like to add a silencer, but i don’t want to sacrifice accuracy
Not if everything is as it should be....the threads on the barrel are machined correctly and the silencer baffles are aligned properly when being made. Sometimes a silencer can make an air rifle more accurate due to the added weight at the front of the gun stabilising it more, this is noticeable on very light guns or ones with more of the weight to the back of the gun .
Blackpool Air Rifles Agreed. For me this is particularly applicable to a red wolf - the combination of carbon bottle and shroud make for a very light front end. Then add the very quick lock time and particularly on the FAC model you end up with a bit of muzzle flip and hold sensitivity. Tried some very nice quiet arbon silencers on it but am now trending toward heavier ones for that but of stability
I have a hugget, a Hw and a swift stumpy. The Hw is the quietest but far too long. The hugget is quiet, but the stumpy is better, and modular. I can use it on my Compatto, BSA Mercury and umarex Walther CP99 in different lengths. It only cost me about £35 so a bargain. Easily the most flexible and best value for money. Why pay £80 for a Huma?
Will the human silencer knock the bark out the rm8 iv tryed other silencer I really like the gun and want to use the rm8 as my pest control gun in stead of the s200 iv tryed the weihrauch silencer but u still get that annoying crack
@@andrewharris4940 Yes , heard of A&M , they are good silencers although we are sticking to the Custom Carbon stuff now as we are very happey with it .
You forgot to mention huggett are British built. Personally I’d have the weihrauch or the huggett. Is it the swift stumpy with the removable baffles? That’s only around the same price as the weihrauch so don’t really see the point in the huma one.
Lloyd Schober if your doing that it may be a good idea to try and find someone with a db meter or hire one? Try them all on 2-3 guns and see what comes out on top. Would be great to know. Maybe try getting one of the new 0db silencers from tony as well into the test.
Hello Does anyone have a idea How can I get a stuck moderator threaded adapter of a Weihrauch Silencer, without any damage on both parts, I have silicone oil before on the threads. 🤔 Pcp air pistol.
Silicone oil isn't a good idea, better with a penetrating oil ( WD40 works for this) If it's still stuck, try a bit of heat from a heat gun or similar.
@@blackpoolairrifles9311 thanks, if I get it undone, I put some Molybdenum Disulfide Powder rubbed on the threads, than it will hopefully never stuck again and a O-ring for Retantion 😂
i still enjoy your reviews.it just needed to be from a customers point of vue .i dont mean to shoot you down.any news on .20 rifles for 2019.new day state maybe
@@blackpoolairrifles9311 ok.thanks for the up date on the 2.0..keep up the good work and thanks for your time and effort.a few people are missing hotair.i have a friend about to review the huggett balita insert.
What about DonnyFL silencers, seems they are way better, have compared DonnyFL against Weirauch, but not against Huma, the difference is day and night? Donnies win hands down. Good honest information, just a pity the flagship is missing 😜
@@blackpoolairrifles9311 The market is pretty saturated I suppose with every conceivable type. I can't think of any real gaps in the market, but I am just a casual observer. IWA is not far away too.
@@blackpoolairrifles9311 Bless. Thanks for remembering me little question! Well I am still looking at bull pups and I do like those HW magazines. Is this a sneak peak before IWA or a launch? Do Brits like bullpups than than the Continentals I wonder? I keep looking at Defiants, have you changed your mind on them now more have gone through the shop? Assuming you have sold some. I wonder if we will see a regulated HFT500 from AA? Thanks again.
I think its the UK launch but expect a delay before the main batch hits your local dealer. Bullpups aren't that popular, but dare I say it...because many of them are badly designed and have been rushed out . I think at this moment the FX Wildcat is my favourite , it feels like it was meant to be one . I still don't like the defiant , its been a terrible seller and we have now discontinued stocking them . I'm sure you will see a regged HFT500 this year :)
@@markhomer5704 My father has a mint condition No4 .303 Lee Enfield. I have shot it at Bisley a few times. Absolutely cracking rifle. Still accurate to 600yards. Happy days.
@@markl4670 Oh yes , a cracking rifle . Bit dated ( obviously ) now , nonetheless got my crossed guns sleeve badge with one .. wernt 600mtrs from what I remember .. about 200 yards ( est ) ...
When you add baffles it does get quieter than the HW , and you can make it shorter too, but we are collecting a db meter next week so we will be able to put hard numbers against them all . The db drop per £ will be a close race between the custom carbon and the HW I think, but sometimes people want more than value for money ...
Please don’t call them silencers as they don’t silence shots. Their true title is ‘moderator’, because they moderate, i.e. reduce, the amount of sound that is produced by the shot, but their success is governed by many factors. First they have to be used with locked breech weapons. Blow back and recoil weapons, and all revolvers, all allow gases to escape from the breech or cylinder respectively, which equates to loud noise. They also don’t work well with supersonic rounds because the bullet breaking the sound barrier causes a crack of its own. Another thing to watch out for is that a bad moderator can affect accuracy, because the round has to transit from a straight barrel to a narrow passage through the baffles. Finally their life is finite because the hot gases being trapped damage the moderator’s packing or baffles, whichever is used, which means they become less effective the more you use them. Obviously air guns don’t produce corrosive or hot gases, so their moderator life is pretty long when compared to full-bore firearms, and obviously they conform to the locked breech requirements, but they are still not silencers…
Hello gr8 silencer review I'm just starting out on RU-vid would you mind having a look and giving me any feed back in Scottish so IV out on an English accent I think lol any feed back would be appreciated it's big Willy's air rifle reviews regards big willy
Hi Willy . Watched one of your videos, its certainly different . I guess it will appeal to a certain audience but if you want more views, cut back on the profanities . Your accent is fine, I understood the swearing perfectly :)
@@blackpoolairrifles9311 thanks for your advice I'm going for a different take on things IV not got a clue what I'm doing just trying to have some fun with it cheers big willy
The stumpy has had a bit of negative feedback, evidently nowhere near as quiet as a Weihrauch . Will try and get a sample for the big silencer test we will be doing.
for me weirauch all the way price and hard to beat..there has been a moduler silencer for a while . i forget the name but at the end of the day why pay double the price or more when a cheaper can do the job..
I've taken my Huggett belita of my FX streamline and replaced it with the Weihrauch and it's so much quieter. Can only hear pellet impact when 10 yards away.
Just got the Weihrauch too - whisper quiet - my neighbours won't know I'm up to! Paid more than Lloyd charges for it though - dont think his price can be beat.
@@blackpoolairrifles9311 thanks for reply.has anyone else tested these to do a noise test and pellet drop test.i thought the swift stumpy was also adjustable for length.
@@LloydSchober Everyone is a foreigner to someone else, so its not a very strong argument. :D I used to butcher it until I found the video... I have heard people say... Vee Rack Via Rack Wee a Raaah and combos in between, not until you hear how it is meant to be said, that you find that when people mispronounce it, like that chalk on a board reaction, makes you cringe.... Even after buying two and practising, still slip in to the wrong pronunciation.
You are waffling a lot in this vid ha ha! We rate! Little review.? Not a lot of difference! What are you on about? Think I’ll look around for a review on these moderators/silencers, from someone who I know has done the hard yards, and gives an honest opinion. Not decides on the spur of the moment to sell Huma silencers. Ha ha! So, good luck.
Yeah ... did a 250 round trip for a silencer just before crimbo ... saved a fiver overall though ( using my mediocre knowledge of mathematics ) ... jobs a good un ... mrs was pissed off though , she had too drive ...
