2 falls and still won. Did the hardest vault in the world to date, on the women's side, and still over rotated it , now THAT is power! Simone Biles is unbeatable.
She was told to over rotate it by her coach. This was not a big meet and there was no need for Simone to try and stick everything or do all her skills. Simone has been fortunate not to suffer injuries over the years as many other gymnasts have done both in the US and around the world and that is because she is a very fit, powerfully built young lady who knows as well as her coaches when to TURN IT ON and when not to.
@@aliciamcdonald7105 Thanks for the info. My comment was about how powerful she is. No hate whatsoever against the over rotation. That was just a point I was proving about how powerful she must be to be able to over rotate a vault of that caliber.
@@happydogs9512 Huh? Where is an argument? About what? I don't think anyone is arguing with anyone. I was being serious. I always love extra info about things like this.
Not even most gymnasts...world floor SILVER MEDALISTS for the last three years all started with a Silivas (Carey Hurd Lee). Most gymnasts are still opening with a full-in or triple full. Simone is unbelievable!!
Take this as a lesson to people who don’t feel good about themselves. Even the best people have their bad days but, even so, they still rise and do their greatest efforts. Well done Simone! ❤️ Gold well deserved
This was probably the worst meet of her life and she still won. That is the bad part. She truly is not beatable. She knows it and so does everyone else.
“I've always been afraid of the hinge. Yes Yes Yes! Even having mastered it to automatism, I always, until the very last day in sports, approached the uneven bars - and my heart sank into the underworld of fear. Wadded feet, dizziness, nauseous weakness, - Korbut recalled in his autobiography. - The thought of an escape, of a shameful escape to the hooting, to the whistle of the hall, every time took quite real outlines. Perhaps this is a natural excitement that visits all athletes without asking. Ren (Knysh) taught to return the heart to its place and keep emotions in check. It disappeared by itself, as if without an effort on my part, I had only to breathe deeply, stretch out my palms and mentally say: "Well, we started ..." Olga Korbut.
i like her 2 coaches always looking calm during her performances. I believe these 2 coaches keep her mental and physical strength in place and they seem so caring. All coaches should be like them looking calm under pressure.
@@catecraig2487 omg thank you! I like her two coaches don't get me wrong, but the first coach a gymnast has always seems to be forgotten. When they're the ones who shaped that gymnast! Like Gabby Douglas' coach, Chow.
@@mariam__x To be fair, Aimee left her. She didn't leave Aimee. So, she chose to be forgotten in a way. Also, Chow was not Gabby's first coach. She was at a gym called Everest for some of her childhood and I believe somewhere else before that. This is not uncommon with gymnastics as you may begin training at a gym that cannot take you into the Elite level.
It must so suck to be gymnast right now knowing that even if Simone falls, bounces off the mat or just drops off the apparatus she still going to get the gold! Because her routines are just so point packed!!
I would be more impressed if she could control those “point packed” routines. It just seems sloppy. I would rather watch a beautifully executed routine rather than one with a couple of huge moves that looks reckless.
@@jeannemabry4924 Well, I guess it's good for her that you're not a judge! And the idea that Biles is 'sloppy' is a little hard to take when the event was full of gymnasts suffering uncharacteristic balance checks and falls. Not surprising given the long layoff most have had. They are athletes...not robots!
Because the routine is so difficult that losing points for falling still puts you up above those who play it safe. Look into the rules and how points are added or deducted. Falling actually deducts very little points. Little known fact about gymnastics. The men fall all the time and still win gold
@@websiteguruseo9554 men falling is different than women falling cuz the men have more events so their scores would balance out more even with a fall. But also, when have people men fallen and still won?
@@websiteguruseo9554 it’s one point deduction, which is a lot. Two times that plus stepping out of bounds and taking 3 steps, one of which was obviously categorised as exceeding the 1 m mark.
It’s not just the difficulty, the consistency is also very good. She’s like the only gymnast that came back with the same difficulty or harder. Which is why with even two falls she won by over 1 point.
I know, and it is great!!! But if you read her book you would know that she has had trouble with bars. I was just saying that based off what I read in her book
That beam routine was the best I’ve ever seen her do! For her first meet back in well over a year, this was phenomenal. Most gymnasts are just trying to get back into shape at this point, but not Simone. She came back with record-breaking difficulty right off the bat. Insane.
MrBubblygoodness I think she called it rough but she is accustomed to having those. She does not read much into it and neither should anyone else. Her first competition in over a year and 4+ months should show RUST and NERVES. It does not say anything about her going forward because this for her is par for the course.
@@eduardo84345 thats what I am talking about. Team, AA, floor and vault for sure. Bb could be Gold if she hits everything even with a perfect routine it's gonna be a tough race with the chinese girls
Much praise to her grandparents. Her mother suffered from drug addiction and her when her grandparents found out that she and her sister were in foster care, they took them out and adopted them. She has stated that she considers her grandparents her mother and father. Shows you can overcome anything. Story could have been so different if her grandparents did not take them out of foster care and adopt them.
Wow! I am always open-mouthed when I watch her! Even with a couple of mistakes, she still is AMAZING! It is just such a pleasure to watch this incredible athlete!!
i love this lady. i have become spoiled to have her compete for USA, i hope we get to see her compete again. I will miss her truely and my heart goes out to her for all she has endured along with other gymnasts who suffered at the hands of larry nassar. but her health to me is more important than seeing her compete. i am writing this after her talking about the pain she endured. i love simone for you, and who your parents taught you to be. GOD bless, sincerely sherrie hawker
Hi Gymnastea, I was wondering if you could do a video on skills that got "fixed"? Cuz I often hear people say that this gymnast needs to fix her leg seperation in her pak or this gymnasts needs to fix this particular skill blablabla. Sometimes fixing is not easy or not an option, but could you make of video of instances where things DID get fixed? Could be very broad. Thanks!
It's like there are two categories that they're competing in... Simone level and everyone else. In mean...a fall on bars, a huge step on vault, out of bounds with a fall on floor and still walks away with a win. The hard work and dedication she puts into the sport is amazing.
For peoples information im a fan of this lady have read her books she is awesome everyone is gonna struggle after the pandemic have no doubt she will win in the games good luck team USA
Not sure that’s true, she naturally always has a lot of power on that dismount. It’s possible, but i wouldn’t count on it unless she feels pressure going into event finals
Agreed. I actually think training the Biles made her full-in become consistently overpowered. She really needs to work on landing it properly because she cannot afford to give up an automatic .3 points or more on large steps backward when the Chinese are looking so amazing on beam rn.
@@liceous training it was a reason but her punch on all her skills is greater now that she’s competing more difficult skills this quad in comparison to the last.
Same problem she developed on her Cheng as well. Got to give her credit for even keeping that much skills in her repertoire, that she can pick and choose which ones to use on competition day.
Aine Lawler it is her FIRST competition in over a year and 4+ months. She has new skills, new routines, new choreography and NERVES. From here on in expect to see her tighter.
Did I say she was no I said she was struggling but I said she still amazing all athletes are after coming back after the pandemic but she will go far I love watching them all learn and grown they will all have to work even harder if they won't that gold good luck to the USA team
Lets be honest, she could fall 10times and still go to the Olympics. But is it just me or she looks a bit worn-out here? Especially before her last pass on floor, almost seems like she's gasping for air. Either way nothing will stop this woman from winning the olympics, she is THAT good!
nk h No different than how she appeared at Classics 2019 and at selection camp that year. It is her first competition after a LOOONG time so what I saw was NERVES and trying not to OVERDO her routines. What I saw on beam gave me great delight. She had that DETERMINED look and I honestly don't think we have seen the finished product. Simone is going to rock our world even more at Championships God's willing.
It’s pretty f-ed up I came here to find out why people would be trolling her. Now I’m here and all I see a successful gymnast. Trolls are a waste of time..
