Poor guy. Got destroyed mentally before the fight and was KO in few seconds... Imagine how depressed he was, realizing everything Conor said to him became true
do you really think translation can really pass exactly what conor was saying, aldo came from a very tough place here in Brazil, the things he went through are way more scary than earn money for a fight,do what he did his whole life the trash talk didn't beat him, the left hand did.
I don't think you could find anybody in the history of combat sport, who was more mentally and physically prepared to win, than Connor was for this fight.
Mike Tyson won most of his fights before they even started because his oponents were genuinely scared to fight him. No way connor was close to the level Mike Tyson was at.
Or in the history of combat sports to find a athlete more scared than Jose was fighting Conor tbh he should of just handed over the belt would of saved face, cause the way he was looking down and walked up to the ref with his head down almost into his ass says it all
@@traiwitz2736 Khabib literally jumped over the fence and attacked Conor's team and Khabib's team attacked Conor in the ring. If that doesnt show that Conor was in the head of khabib, I dont know what will.
@@bjs8397 well, conor did say terrible things about his father religion and family. khabib made him pay and showed it wasnt a game. he beat conor handily and since then conor hasnt been the same
@@Yourufgbbk the most unsportsmanlike man on the planet with a massive ego gets brought down to earth. His fall was as spectacular as his rise, I’m not being a troll saying that.
@@SakuraTempura have you seen him after fights he's respectful win or lose he's respectful after its mental warfare it can win fights and it did this one
@@SakuraTempura He is humble in victory and defeat, the rest is just selling fights. You just don’t understand he is doing business. Why do you think he is the most hyped and entertaining fighter
It's because he knew that aldo wanted to try and take his head off. As soon as he tried to throw that big left hook, conor had him right where he wanted him.
It’s chilling to hear everything Conor said leading up to the fight with the knowledge that every word of it happened. When we first heard it we knew it had weight and authority behind it but it still felt like trash talk. It felt like just a mind game. No one thought the fight would really be that easy, but it fucking was
Yeah, he looks like he doesn’t even believe it. He’s like that’s it? I trained my whole life for a fight like this and it was done this quick? Awesome moment, glad to have been alive and seen it
@@holymolythejabroni9040 who cares about what kids say? But they are saying that about Khabib already...the difference, however, i feel will be Khabib's legacy!
@@tb606gaming7 you okay there bud? or you just like starting arguments for no reason? he said he’s knocked out most of the people hes fought, i corrected him. I never said anything else you troglodyte
Conor is one of the greatest fighters I ever seen, I've never seen someone talking like that before a fight in so many details,it felt like he was in the future and knew what's gonna happen
I know it's not his time now,but men back then he was everything, his fights were so electrified... Loved the way he lived those years in the octagon,he gave exactly what he predicted. He was the best❤️
Use to be a Conor fan but to see Jose breakdown like that was truly heartbreaking. He fought with anger and Conor was to good to fight like that. He use to be something special to watch.
@@rylandbrown8874 did u see his stance he was fighting like a boxer not a mixed martial artist he looked stuck in the middle like he said years ago he needs to get his old team back together cause he should of smoked him
Well you know nobody saw Dustin to be a threat to Conor tbh. & There is a reason for it . When Conor said he way above the levelsl of dustin , he really is . You know gaethje , alvarej , dustin , ... They fight like animals , they will take you in the pockets & start throwing punches repeatedly . But Conor never does that , he waits for them to pounce & dodges & gives a solid counter left which generally makes his opponent go flat on ground . But against Poirier it was different . He got easily takendown , he was missing his shots , was easily getting hit by Dustin & overall he was very flat footed & passive . He bacame what he swore to destroy when he 1st entered this division which is stiffness & stuck in the mud. I hope he regroups & finds follies in his game & comes back stronger than ever .
This version of Conor was unbeatable and amazing to see. He had no doubt he was the best in the world back then, he came in with that karate stance and counter punch style. Unbeatable.
I've watched these 2 parts every week, and I've learned so much from how conor breaks them down. It will honestly help me in the future i am certain of it
Conor forgot his fundamentals. His jumpy karate stance isn’t there anymore. “Precision beats power, timing beats speed” Conor was not there he was throwing all over the place. Conor fell in and out of love with mma and turned into a boxer
@@eemelikantanen1788 exactly what I was trying to see. All probs to poirer but I don’t want to see a boxing mcgregor in that cage. Hopefully he comes back and does Nate 3 and then poirer 3
Aldo went into the McGregor fight with full of emotion and complete hatred for the guy, and that was his downfall, he just wanted to attack him head on which was a big mistake for Aldo, and McGregor knew he was going to do exactly just that, waited for the moment for him to rush in and capitalise on the moment, timed it perfectly with a powerful left shot that caught him flush straight onto his chin that dropped him and then took him out with a hammer fist before the referee stopped the fight, Aldo basically lost the fight in the build up to the actual fight, McGregor got into his head and under his skin so badly that it actually tore aldo apart, mentally, and that was his downfall.
He tried to do the same with Khabib but unfortunately for him, Khabib rage was more composed, more vicious and silent. His rage served as a fuel, unlike Aldo
@@greatestever7623 if mayweather said that then it’s ok but the fact that an overweight lonley troll who’s mother is fat as well said it is just dumb........ your dumb
@@Danerwhite your point is dumb as well. You don’t need experience to judge someone’s skill, you obviously need to watch a lot of fights, but you don’t have to be a boxer to tell if someone’s boxing is good or not, you don’t have to be a wrestler to tell if someone wrestling is good. By that logic, all movie critics need to make a movie to be a good critic
you could see that fear here 3:50 jose just turned his eyes and head towards the ground and didn't watch conor's eyes in that staredown. But,.... You can see conor's fear against Khabib. Conor didn't look Khabib in the eyes when their gaze inside the octagon. He just looking at the other way instead of watch Khabib's eyes.
His mental distruction works on aldo and Alvarez only, but in Floyd and khabib , it's totally different and in khabib , after the fight he got mental distruction. Its true and it's changed him till now , can't see how it was before khabib.
One of the best moments in sports history in my opinion. The mental destruction.. then to do EXACTLY what you say with perfect execution in the biggest fight of your life at the time. Amazing
It is crazy how the things change, 6 years Aldo was going through a mental war against himself and now is Conor that doesn't seem to be in a good place with his mind.
I will say that the may weather money made him feeel like he made it like he has nothing else to gain and after that khabib fight I assume that’s where he let criticism get to him but he overall looks to not care just a loss lol
@@6godbreeezyy now he has a wife and children. Too many distractions from the sport. But his grandkids will feel his fortune. And with that he won in the end
@@Pwanchi "Grace" should be multidimensional. It should be in all fields such as character, sportsmanship, attitude etc. Those who are centred in their ego is bound to fall one day or another. Because ego centric individual will always lack an aspect of self control. So Connor's fate should be obvious. You won't get it no matter how many times you read it. Even if you are a grandpa your mind will remain as an immature child if you maintain the same level of ignorance. And people who are younger than you might show more maturity than yourself. The profile picture is definitely a bad start but no matter.
1:35 Connor said exactly what he was gonna do and that's what happened in the fight. That's just insane. Literally, he said what how he'd end the fight, he was sooo prepared to counter that right hand.
Interstellar!!! Music! And this version Conor was elite Conor!!! He needs to fire that boxing coach and go back to his karate/taekwondo stance! It was so entertaining to watch’ now Conor just looks for the KO instead of tearing apart his opponent. He needs to Adapt quicker or study his opponents better again! Dude is still an all time great!
EXACTLY my thoughts. Cerrone isnt that great anymore, so it still worked on him, but at an elite level we need conor back in his total movement-oriented style. Maybe he learned that from this
@@psychocsko4753 lol Nah i'm actually not, im just pointing out the obvious, they sound hopeful after Dustin Poirier made quick work of Mcgregor, once he had him hurt, he mauled him ...so just shhhhhh
Connor is an evil genius damnnn. He is so right he set up the mentally from that beginning making jose think he’s gonna lose, and elevating his own confidence and mindset at the same time. Over before it began fighting is so much more mentally involved that I thought.
Feels bad, man...Jose is one of my favorite fighters of all time, but most people only remember his ko to Conor and not his years of domination or his unbeatable aura during his prime...it's the nature of the fight game, Jose even said it himself...I'll remember his prime for sure, and I hope when people look back on history they will remember too...not taking anything from Conor, of course...it sucks that I have to make a disclaimer cuz fanboys be lurking everywhere...I'm just putting proper respect on Aldo's name and showing sympathy for him
This will be written in combat sports history books. This kind of sheer precision and visionary performance has never been done and the fact that makes it exclusive is that there will be no other Notorious Conor McGregor.
The way he judged he would throw the right hand first simply based on the staredown is nuts, in fact whether or not he knew he would throw it, he had already anticipated that if he would, he had the perfect counter, and there you go. He set the trap, and it sure did work.
when conor showed up he shook everyone because he had something that at that time the ufc didnt have and he was overconfident about it and it worked for him.. he had great boxing distance management and excelent understanding of striking traps and baits, he would get people angry to make them more jumpy in the fight and more eager to ko him, he would trap most of their strikes with his stance and lead hand leaving only 1 big opening and 1 big strike that to experienced fighters looked like a "oh you messed up amateur" mistake but he baited them to it and countered it perfectly, just rewatch his fights, even before ufc, his chin always high yet hes always aware of the coming strikes, his lead hand holding the others lead hand to discourage lead hand punches , his rear hand always down to bait big punches like the power overhand, cross, and his head was mostly towards his opponent ahead of his hips so when his opponents moved he knew it would 90% be a power rear hand punch, he would slightly fade back with great distance management and then snap back in with a confident counter left... which what happened to everyone until eventually people started to figure out conor, and when he boxed mayweather (who was way ahead of him in this game since that was floyd's specialty) he kinda felt like the shit he used to sweep over the ufc was getting old and so he didnt show up, and with the dustin rematch you could see him try to implement the same style but poirier had already seen it and knew by doing this your lead leg is exposed and he did great job at punishing it, i dont expect conor to leave the 10-5 top contenders mark from now on unless he spices up his striking a bit more and brings newer things (which he could do if he was as serious about the ufc as he was back then)
Feel more bad for Tony Ferguson, he's the one the UFC really screwed over, screwed him out of the undisputed title shot when he more than earned it. Aldo had been the champion already and even when he lost he won it back because someone doesn't like to defend belts after he wins them which is another reason Tony never got the LW title shot.
Look Tag this Fire Look at this glow in Conors eyes man... Supporting him since 2014 and it has been one hell of a ride till today. Hope he can secure the victory in the trilogy against dustin ant put a smile on everyone’s face!
Rising above the rest means stepping on the heads of those below you. Destroying whatever gets in your way or tries to stop you from reaching your goal. I love McGregor but R.I.P Jose. He didn't deserve this abuse.......
Never really liked him as a person but you cannot deny greatness. His run in Featherweight was nothing we have ever seen before and this must be respected.
It's crazy... the way Connor mentally destroyed Jose- Khabib did it to him. Everything Conor said he'd do to Jose came to fruition... everything Khabib said he'd do to Conor came to fruition.
McGregor was cringy in the buildup to the Khabib fight. Who wants to route for a coked up scumbag who goes around threatening people and insulting their loved ones? He used to have great intuition of his skills and his opponents, and he's still a talented guy but he may never be the exact same again. In his twenties he outworked everyone, he lived and breathed the sport and nothing else mattered. Now he has some living behind him, other things in his life, and he's in his thirties and outworking everyone in your thirties is slightly different to doing the same in your twenties. Your body can change. Also he's been ko'd for the first time and that can have consequences.
The pound for pound champion throwing a monster hook, and Conor doesn’t flinch, he’s so confident in his abilities that he stare Aldo in the eyes ands counters, I want this Conor back bad man, the Conor that knew he was gonna win so he didn’t have to trash talk people’s family
