I mean NL is maybe a *little* young for this to apply but (at least in europe) exotic fruits like mangos and pineapples were not really available to the every man until like 30 years ago. My dad ate a pomegranate for the first time 2 years ago lol
Tbf I've been living in SEA for more than 20 years and just learned a couple years ago that berries and blackcurrant is an actual fruits and not some blue hawaiian flavouring.
@matthewaravanis7483 Depending on where you are it can be more or less common, where I'm at they're definitely available, but on the pricier end and I can see a lot of people defaulting to apples, bananas, oranges, plums and the like rather than trying out a tropical fruit in the heartland.
@@matthewaravanis7483nah it’s pretty common in North America. Not as common as apples, bananas, berries. I personally think stone fruits are the absolute best. Mangos, peaches, plums, all amazing.
So fucking weird i was thinking of this conversation literally yesterday and i couldn't even remember where i heard it from and then this is on my feed the next day. Extremely weird lol
i find this so amazing, i was born in Colombia and i literally could go to my nearest park and there was a lady selling chopped mango, so i grew up with that shit, can i ask where are you from that a mango is so rare?
I once was babysitting, and we had a mango that was going to go bad in a few days, so I tried feeding it to the kids. Instead, they wanted the candy bowl that was mostly empty. And I spent an hour trying and failing to convince them the mango tasted better.
Depends on age and location. He’s in his mid to late 30s if I had to guess so maybe the area he was from just didn’t have them at that time. My mom didn’t know what an avocado was until she was in college in the 90s.
