I’m confused about which brand and type of thread to use with this overlocker model and will take your very good advice and buy black and white cones. Please can you recommend what type and brand is best to buy please?
I buy Coats moon threads more often. The small reels are plenty for a couple of garments and I can choose matching colours. The quality is excellent and good enough for tailors of Saville Row.
I sat for over an hour last night trying to thread mine, watched this video and it worked straight away! Thank you, my problem was knowing where to lie the threads after threading. The best tip I picked up was to remove the knife for threading. Thank you so much!!!!
After almost 10mins of trying to thread the lower looper, I googled how to thread the machine and watched your video.... I was really struggling with no.9, I don’t think the instructions are necessarily clear about the lever clicking. I was so relieved when I saw you do it. Thread straightaway. I’ll be sure to pop back for more videos. Thanks
My children bought me this machine last June for my birthday. Today I opened the box and followed your instructions and I managed it all except dropping the knife. I am now sewing up the holes on all their sweatshirts. Thank you.
I tried to remember how to do this after over a year of not using my machine. Of course, that didn't work. Then I consulted the manual but it leaves out the last crucial step on the upper thread. Then I came here and voila!! All the information I needed, including a couple of tips that I hadn't seen before. That one about getting the knife out of the way is magic! Thank you so much for getting back to suing my overlocker. You have a new subscriber!
I was struggling so much with threading my new overlock serger. I followed the instructions that came with the machine over and over again, but the stitches never turned out right. I was just about ready to give up when I tried your suggestion to move the knife out of the way before threading and it was the absolute key! I was so excited to finally be able to successfully thread my serger and produce perfect stitches!! Despite watching many, many videos and reading multiple tips from experts, I never saw that suggestion anywhere. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom!
This video is so easy to understand and follow, thank you so much… by the way I loved that you used diffirent threads color it turned out so beautiful 😊💐
I have wanted an overlocker since lockdown started, and my hubby got me one yesterday. I was dreading threading it after seeing loads of comments on facebook sewing groups. But I watched your video and did it first time, Thank you soooo much xx
I've just got my Brother overlocker and followed your video to thread it. It was so easy to follow your instructions and your explanations were very clear. I managed to thread it successfully the first time. Thank you so much.
I had an overlocker for Christmas and no idea how to re-thread. I managed to unthread it at the weekend. So glad I found your tutorial it was so clear. I did it. Thank you so much.
Oh my god! Thank you soooooooo much for making this easier than what I thought. Bit of an amateur sewist with this brand new machine just sitting in the box because I'm terrified and overwhelmed by it. Will follow these instructions as made perfect sense. Thanks again ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for this. I watched this throug, followed the instructions in the manual and double checked everything with your video again. Just to be certain. Very clear and reassuring. :)
Your tutorial is brilliant, thank you for helping us beginners with overlockers to enjoy our machines, I found it extremely helpful in learning how to thread it from the beginning.
Hi Abbi. Only had my overlocker A couple of months. Have been swapping threads etc then the lower looper. Thread snapped. It was driving me mad and then I remembered your video. Thank you, you’ve saved my sanity! Xx
Thank you for this video! It's been a few months since I used my serger and I was having trouble getting my upper looper threaded. The tip about moving the knife out of the way was what did the trick! Thanks again!
Just got a brother 3034d seger.. watch this video twice and string my serger correctly.. I'm so proud of myself.. I have never string a serger before. ..THANKS FOR VIDEOS like these...💖💞💕🇯🇲🇯🇲
Thank you so much! I just bought this overlocker and other videos don't go straight to the point but this one does. Definitely will save and like this video for future threading❤
OMG thanks so much for this video. Just got one of these today, I don’t have a DVD player so the DVD that came with it wasn’t much use, couldn’t really make much sense of the manual either. This video!! Amazing. So easy to follow, so easy to thread this machine because of it. You’re amazing!! Xx
Thank you! I have the brother 734Ds and this is as the most detailed video I’ve watched. You made me see how easy it actually is and included all the right details.
Thank you ever so much for such a brilliant video. My machine arrived today from Amazon and I'm waiting for the threads and trim tray, bought separately to be delivered. I will definitely be watching your video again so that I can thread my machine correctly. Many thanks 😃
Thank you so much for this very informative video. My M343D arrived today it took me two attempts but I did it watching your video. Keep the videos coming xxx
Brilliant tutorial, easy to follow and clearly spoken and filmed. I was dreading threading my new overlocker as manual was so complicated. Thank you so much.
This video has been so useful. I was nervous using my new overlocker but this video was clear and straight forward so when my machine needs rethreading I feel confident I’m doing it correctly. Thank you so much!
Well I swear that’s what I was doing but my machine must have liked your soothing voice and worked first time after I followed this after an hours worth of snapped thread ! ❤️
Thanks for this, bought this my first ever overlocker before Christmas but had time to get it out today, watched your video for how to thread as couldn’t figure out the last bit of the loopers, worked on my first try. I’ve been overlocking everything in site all afternoon 😂😂😂😂thanks so much
Simply the best tutorial - the video pace is perfect. My loopers kept tangling up, now I know to get the knife out of the way so the threads can go right to the back! Thank you so much Abi your videos are great to follow😁
Thanks so much for this tutorial and it was very helpful. Mine came already threaded so all I have to do was to attach my thread but obviously I threaded it wrong. Very helpful and concise. Will continue watching whatever else on the serger that you have to offer. Many blessings to you.
My new toy arrived today, so excited :) your tutorial is so easy to follow and I threaded and then used my new over locker (which is the same as in this video). Thank you again and I look forward to many years of happy creating with my new over locker :) to join my Brother sewing machine x :) :) :)
I can’t thank you enough. I was really struggling with my new Overlocker. I read and re-read the instruction booklet and watched the official instruction video several times. It still wasn’t working properly and I nearly gave up. Your vlog had a couple of tips, the one that I think made the most difference was to make sure your thread is properly embedded within the tension channel gubbins). I am now enjoying my overlocker and it’s all thanks to you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. 😀 Threading my first overlocker. Got stuck at the first thread with the instructions that came with machine. But easy thanks to your video.👏👏
Thank you, Abi! Loved your clear, calm instructions. My Brother is 3534DT (Canadian) and is threaded exactly the same way as this one, for info. I appreciate you!!
This is THE video on threading an overlocker! I just got the Brother 734ds and tried to thread it a few times. The loopers scared me as I couldn't even see where the heck to put the thread. The machine was so cute till I opened the door bit and then I literally got scared haha. Your instructions and your zooming in to show the parts very clearly have been a life saver. The only difference was that I used the sewing machine tweezer for all the needle threading steps. Thank you! Saving this video so that I can rewatch as needed.
Abbi, you are wonderful, just got my overlocker and although it came threaded, I messed up and found your tutorial so easy to follow and it works a treat. Now onto some of your projects for beginners. Thank you. Definitely a fan of yours !
Thank you, your video was very helpful. We just bought a serger machine for my mom and I was able to set it up with your video and we was able to serger the cloth as well
Thank you, thank you, thank you, 😊 I got it. You don't know how intimidated I was to even try, but with you sitting beside me on my phone on RU-vid, I got it 1st time. Whoop whoo.
Thank you so much for the clear instructions. My husband bought this model overlocker for me for Christmas. I have been sewing quite a bit for the past few years. I really wanted an overlocker to finish the seams and make them look nicer. But.. having looked at your brilliant video all I am feeling at this moment is pure panic. Lol. What have I done.? Ekk. I'm scared now. I can't tell my husband that the only thing I have ever asked for in 40 years is terrifying me to use it I will definitely be studying any videos you have uploaded. Thank you again.
Sandra! Pull yourself together woman! 💪🏾💫✨you can do this 🌷Just have lots of fun. Grab some scraps and old towels and sheets and sew. Practice threading it up until you’re able to do it eyes closed. You’ll be pro in no time
@@AbisDen Ha ha 😂. I love the response. I will definitely try to practice on it. I have plenty of scraps and bits and pieces that I can use. But still, thank you again for your help. I will be watching any of your videos to get me to figure it out. Happy New year.
Great video. I have just ordered my first overlocker, the model that you are demonstrating, which will be for my Christmas present :) and I am now dying to get my hands on it. I had been worried about threading it up, but your video was very good. Thank you!
Ooh, great to be prepared :) if you order it from Weaverdee and mention Abi’s Den, you’ll get a gift voucher worth 10% of the machine value to spend on other goodies!
@@AbisDen that's a shame, but I already ordered it from Amazon in its black Friday sale (good discount) but I will look at your suggestion and mention you of course! 😄 :)
Thank you Thank you so much, I don't have your particular model. I have the brother 4031 Hd Serger, however, they look very similar except my knobs are black and the rest of the machine is black and white. I tried threading it had the hardest time following the dvd, but thanks to you I am up and running.
Well done Betty, perseverance is the key! Glad you’ve managed to get it going. Practice threading it up a few times and before you know it, it’ll come so easily to you every time
Hi, I just used your video to thread my new serger..thank you!! It tickled me when I was putting the accessories away in the pull down cover and it has >ABS< embossed in the plastic!! 😆
Abi, your tutorial is so much easier to follow than the CD that came with my machine , I found the knife very difficult to pull back out and my second thread keeps breaking but I will persevere its an 81st Birthday present from my 3 grandsons
Thank you so much for thw marvelous tutorial. I just got mine a couple of days ago and with the help of this video it qas almost a piece of cake to start it up ☺️
Ooh, congrats... in that case, try this, you’ll love it! X First Overlocker Project - Tote Bag on Lidl Singer Machine S14-78 | Abi’s Den ✂️🧵🌸 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C29gVkOSnuw.html
Thank you. I just purchased this overlocker, and your instructions were perfect. One question... how do you lift the foot. I am new to over lockers. It worked without lifting the foot, but its a handy thing to use
Best video how to thread! Moving the blade really helped. New machine working perfectly, but now not cutting, material bunches under the blade and it oversews the seams thickly! Spending hours trying to trouble shoot with no success! Please can you help
