for a while now i had been contemplating suicide. i have kidney failure and i was planning on letting it kill me. i was convinced that i was meant to die. i attempted suicide when i was 11 and it never worked. its actually a miracle that it never worked. im 21 now and i started planning my suicide again. and then i started watching your videos on the bible, and now i dont believe that i was meant to die. i had been praying a lot for God to guide me, so that i might find happiness. the lord guided me to your videos. i have a lot of things to think about now.

Great info that people are unaware of. I figured out a lot of it on my own through analyzing the Egyptian symbolic metaphor and narratives, concluding that "gods" are externalized projections of our attempts to make sense of ourselves and reality. Many people think this was a ll taken literally when it was originally invented, but that is only a later outcome of people forgetting what the original purpose was intended to convey: self-knowledge, know thyself and you will know the universe (reality) and the gods (your own consciousness).

These motor forces, in modern culture, are regarded as psychological traits or motivational forces. I like this particular excerpt From the lecture because it Implicitly illuminates that archaic societies weren’t necessarily ignorant, but rather had a deep implicit understanding of psychology that, given the limitations of the time, weren’t able to be established in a more objective, technical, and concrete concept (psychology). I think that sounded bias (given that I’m studying psychology lol); nevertheless, these archaic societies implicitly undergirds most of our concepts of government, ethics, and a whole myriad of different disciplines, with the exception of disciplines that are affixed to the scientific method, despite if we acknowledge them or not.

I haven't had cable tv in more than 20 years (I'm 40) and when I see the TVO logo in the corner, I think:" Man! Such educationnal shows were in there back then and I would have consumed them all like an addict!"

I appreciate you Dr Peterson, I am a 47 yr old high school drop out with an extremely high IQ . I have struggled for many years due to my way of thinking was much different than most. Your lectures are olden to me. I finally understand my Shadow.May have very well saved me during a deep battle wit PTSD. Crazy but I study 2 or 3 lectures of yours a day. It's unfortunate that it took the acts of the radical left for Dr. Peterson to become as widely known as he is today, but to say I'm grateful is a gross understatement. These lectures are incredible, in the best of ways.

Hey Dr. Peterson I have a question. I highly doubt that you are going to be able to see this, maybe someone who does can honestly give there answer and or opinion. "Why is it that now everyone and their mother are obsessed with politics and controversy between the left and the right? Why are so many people posting videos and covering the differential opposition's between Democrats and Republicans? Why is this obsession rapidly becoming popular and so enjoyable and entertaining? I don't post any videos but i sure watch a lot of this stuff. Also I just bought your book, very big fan. I have so much respect for you. Your mind is fascinating and I believe you have a very good heart. Stay healthy and strong so you can continue to change lives and guide the eagar young and qualified with your wisdom

i think there's a similarity in the seth-osiris myth, where seth kills osiris and splits him out in parts and his spirit remains, and the harry potter series, where harry kills voldemort and he lives on as the horrocruxes. Maybe not quite similar but at least the killing but not dying part.

I'm familiar with almost every idea your teaching here, and still, I hold the Hebrew scripture as the "revelation" to the earlier stories, and in a far more literal way than its being presented. The "gods" were non-created beings existing with YHWH from the beginning, given task over earth and living Beings on earth, to watch and aid..but NOT tamper. Lucifer led the rebellion of the "gods" against YHWH and his plan, "enlightening" humans(i.e. Eve, then Adam) Among his troops, Tiamat, Nebo, etc. etc. Basically every name found within the Necronomicon and the first book of Enoch, emissaries who chose to promote chaos and not the order of the Father.Throughout history they have been bowed to and worshipped, mistaken as creator "gods" and given names throughout time and cultures. They've raised and toppled empires, by convincing men chaos is the way. Hitler didn't seek YHWH or "Logos" he sought these ancient inferiors to the Father. Hence the chaos that he projected, all the while deceived as Eve and Cain..thinking he was doing gods work. Nebuchadnezzar, Nimrod, Pharaohs, Kings, all who were tyrants or murderous share one thread of commonality..they DIDNT seek YHWH! They worshipped the old gods. The fallen ones. Its happening again in western culture now. They call evil good, and good evil. Worshipping yet again, the great deceivers, led by Lucifer and his spirit. All this rambling to ask you a simple question Mr. Peterson. Why are you SO convinced that these are creations of the human minds and spirits seeking to rationalize the world around them? What IF these stories are more truthful than you allow? What if the last trick or deception of Satan is to do as he always has done, and convince men by historical records that ALL spiritual truth is ultimately myth, because after all, we have proven ancient "gods" and pantheons of "gods" to be no more than human imaginings of thunder, earthquakes, and other natural and even internal phenomenon they couldn't explain until science dealt their death blow? I am convinced that the Bible is the only document on earth that presents this case. That every story, even predating its writing, is rooted in ONE truth. When Babel fell, our unity broke, and languages were confounded, we took this root truth to different areas of earth, and told eerily similar stories, with changed and added/deleted details dictated by cultural/environmental factors, yet the root of truth remains. Lucifer's greatest deception was/is convincing men that he doesn't exist. Its VERY difficult to make a reasonable argument in a yotube comment section, but I love watching your videos, love your ideas, they are brilliant! But how are you so decided that what you teach isn't literal truth? We are a miraculous work. The universe also, a miraculous work. We didn't happen by chance, but instead are painfully deliberate works of God. That's why we can trace every story throughout mankind's history back to one singular, reoccurring story...with tiny details changed by individual times and varying cultures. I can not say how much I *LOATHE* the falsehood that is "western"(more like common) opinion on what consciousness is in terms of its subdivisions. There is no room for "the above conscious mind"(intuitive mind), and where there is mention of it, it is treated as "the higher self" or "God", some separate entity, rather than just another part of one's psyche. Qualities of the intuitive mind are often mistaken for being just another aspect to the subconscious mind, mistaking "intuition" with "instinct". First you lot pretend that "unconscious" is a synonym for "subconscious", then you proceed to pretend that "things within the subconscious are things we are not conscious of". In order to avoid ambiguity, I am referring to what you call "consciousness", in a person, as *the mind of volition* . What you call "subconsciousness" or more inaccurately(definitely more idiotic) "the unconscious mind", I'll call *the mind of habit* . Important to note, even if you still think of them in terms of the previously discarded inaccurate phrasing: The mind of volition and the mind of habit are not two separate minds, but one mind in two separate but connected modes of operation, and just because a thing is in one mode of operation(the mind of habit) but not in the other(mind of volition), does not mean it is not in "consciousness" or lost in "unconsciousness". "Unconsciousness" is an idiotic term, as all that changes is of, in and from consciousness, thus *nothing is unconsciousness* (which is fine, for Nothing is Infinite, Nothing is True). Unconsciousness means "not-consciousness", which is not logical outside of being description for the state of sleep, in which case it just means "not-awake", still in and of consciousness, but one's sense of volition is totally immersed in the habitual regeneration cycles of sleep. The term "consciousness" should never have been used as if it is an appropriate synonym for "awareness", *if you are aware of something, then you are conscious of that thing, if you are conscious of something, you are not necessarily aware of THAT thing* , as it may reside not in the zone governed by the mind of volition but entirely within the mind of habit. This is so, for the more habitual aspect of your mind, which governs all instincts and executes all calculation, does not necessarily transfer all information to the realm of volitional mind, as it would be overwhelming, it passes on instead only that which is pertinent to specific conditions, specific points of attention~interest, ie bodily conditions~needs, or the answer(s)~results of a particular inquiry that was willed for it to process. In this place of habit, 90% of consciousness resides, it is there that you are conscious of more than you are aware of, but inspection via introspection is possible as you focus your mind of volition to sift through one's habits, looking deep into the nature of any one thing that ordinarily resides below volitional awareness, but always present within consciousness, things that cause specific patterns in the flow of your overall consciousness but ordinarily go without being noticed via the mind of volition. Again, the "subconscious mind" is at one with the "conscious mind" , in fact, all of one's mind is "consciousness", thus no such thing as an impulse being "below consciousness" just because the mind of volition(which you lot call 'conscious mind') is not attentive to it, at least not until it is shoved up into the ordinary range of its operation.-My point: You are fully conscious of any and everything that goes on in your consciousness, only, awareness and attention is diffused in flow, between the *mind of habit* or, as you say "the subconscious mind" and the *mind of volition* /"conscious mind".

So he's implying that humanity has always worshiped their own emotions and flaws as an externalization in the form of gods? If thats not the most deepest argument against religion, idk, man.
