I came to my senses when I found ur lectures especially about the self and meaning of life and responsibility for decisions. I have boosted my work habit so much that it’s gotten me more opportunities and me realizing that carrying self in any form of way WILL show your work habits and truly plot out the way your life will be. Hearing this for the second time (first time with the Harvard lectures), a question just popped into my head. Why did God enjoy walking with Adam in the garden? Were they having conversations as they walked? If so, conversations about what? Adam had not yet eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil ... his eyes "were not open yet." (Or, if that tree was just the very specific knowledge of good and evil, did Adam [and Eve] have just pure knowledge before that?) Or, were Adam and Eve like well behaved pet dogs to God? Edit: And I just got my answer in the next video. HAHA!

This is something I've thought about, mind you it's constrained in the Christian mythology, so hey? If you want to think that man was not in unconscious identification with the world and with the innocence and naivete of animals, well their fall must have been from something above the conflict of good and evil and man had knowledge to choose to "Walk by the side of God" being good and the fall was the trial, "to choose a side". That kinda rises the problem of freewill, but then again Lucifer decided to do rebel, well there you go. I thought i was being clever when i thought about that but then i read somewhere it's some of a theological theory.

I wonder what JP thinks about islam. Old Testament and Quran are very similar with slight differences. I'm sure he would be interested in those differences and I'm very curious about what would his opinion be. i.e Adam and Ewe sent to earth as punishment in Old Testament, whereas in Quran they are sent to earth because they failed a test and they need to learn and God says I will support you on earth. I will wait for a single speech of JP (a.k.a Dad) about Quran, the book (not islam).

It's not unreasonable. Peterson specifically says that it's a perfectly reasonable idea. His argument however is that life presents enough meaning that it's worth the price of the suffering.
