So many treasures to hold dear. The very first time I heard Sam speak I thought 💭 this man is a super hero 🦸. When I hear Sam speak I imagine this is what it looks like to speak with grace and truth. I also appreciate how Paul would bring the convo to the amazing grace that God offers. I am motivated to think with more intent on whether something is favorable or unfavorable God is really going to work it out for the good of myself and anyone who loves Him. Thank you all for sharing this.

Dr. Tripp, your New Morning Mercies entry for today, February 21, addresses how “we minimize the fallenness of our world and the power of remaining sin, and when we do, we do not guard ourselves from temptation as we should.” Galatians 5:16-26 was your Biblical reference for that. This talks about the desires of the flesh being against the desires of the Spirit. It is so clear. Isaiah 42 was the other Biblical reference which was equally clear. Romans 1:21-26, 1 John 2:16, and Romans 8:12-14, just to name a few, reference living according to the flesh or desire too ~ how does Sam’s position escape that? Sam has denied that his same sex attractions could ever change ~ isn’t that the very opposite of what the Bible teaches? It is in my Bible. I hope you will help me understand this. Thank you!

This is so helpful, thank you. Christians need to do better when it comes to this issue. This discussion is a good starting point and I love how Sam and Paul always point us to being humble!

My church leaders have noticed that I'm in my mid-20s and I'm still single. They are trying to help me to find someone within my church but they have no idea what I'm going through internally. They know I lack in self confidence which is obviously a factor to why I'm still single. However, they aren't aware of my ongoing issues with SSA which is the biggest reason to why I'm not dating. I obviously want to tell them but I don't trust that they will be comfortable around me if I ever share it. I fear that they will probably feel stunned and won't be able to handle it or relate with me as a brother. I can see they obviously want me help me out by their efforts to try and find me someone but I can't bare the thought of myself experiencing pain from their potential rejection if I let them know. It's such a taboo thing in the church and I fear they are not ready for that type of conversation. I'm also afraid of their reaction. I would rather The Holy Spirit tells them so they can approach me and ask me about it. That way it's not me telling them but God telling them for me and then God can soften their heart about the issue.

I am the person who questions God’s goodness when I am hurt or in despair, and Paul is right it is so detrimental to all aspects of my life. Once again God has restored my faith.

I love this and am learning so much from it. I have a young family member that has “come out” and I’m praying for him. I know that you guys are speaking in the context that all sexual sin is sin but what do we do with Leviticus 18:22 that specifically says that homosexuality is an abomination? I’m just asking because I’m trying to get wisdom on just what the scriptures say , the whole of scripture. I would love one of you 3 gentlemen to help me have understanding here. I still struggle to understand..Roman 1 talks about “vile affections” as a judgement…is Sam saying god gave him affections for men only.?

Blessings and greetings from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I loved this interview with Sam which was excellent! I have a male cousin of mine who's gay and he lives with his boyfriend. I love and respect him but I disagree he's gay.

There is a refusal to truly die to self, if you are holding onto the identity of "gay Christian" more than being content to be a "Christian". There is no category for drunk Christian, or philandering Christian, or MAP Christian. The TRUE good news: the promise, "He who began a good work in you, will bring it to completion" INCLUDES Sinful desires. BTW, this is a strawman: NO biblical church says fornication is not a sin. And even if it they do teach that, it doesn't matter, an unfaithful church does not give us license to sin and break God's law. God's law is perfect, and His the salvation God offers us in Christ is perfect too and COMPLETE, to completely transform us. Bless you all struggling with this, or any sin. I struggle with my flesh too. But I don't want to remain a FLESHLY Christian, I want to be a Holy Christian.

Do you not think these sins are against nature? So like phediphilla, beastally ? Will in 20 years it be minor sex attraction? I find this all so confusing. Almost feel like Ssa is being normalized

Dude... What happened to Paul Tripp! Used to hold Scripture to its highest degree, but now compromise is more important! “Having the right theological convictions is essential, but not sufficient” Right, but it seems that you passed the theological truths for the sake of being nice to you as a person who struggles with this sin: Psalm 5:4, 2 Corinthians 7:1, Romans 6:16. Paul David should’ve been preaching repentance, instead a man centered conversation was easier to manage…

Same sex attracted are not peculiar sinners. And single people are not different people from any other person. People are so blind to their own prejudices. We all want Jesus to be our Saviour. This grouping of people is ignorance
