props to you Krookz for taking the initiative to take this video. hopefuly it will help out other taco owners in the future when it comes to getting parts replaced due to driveline vibes. maybe one day toyota will finally admit there really is a problem here!
Same thing on my 09 Tacoma with 33's and a 3 inch lift all around. Thought it may be the carrier bearing but after doing a full driveline service (carrier bearing, regreasing slip yoke, and replacing all 3 U-joints) it is still there. I think it may be a structural issue and the cross member that the carrier bearing sits on needs additional support.
The problem is the angle the ujoints are running in ..... with the 2 yokes right after the carrier bearing being almost in a straight line , this will cause the vibration ... I would try removing the spacer on the carrier bearing , then check to see what angle it is sitting at .. then check the angle at your axle yoke they should be the same .. But ............. You want the driveshaft to point down to the axle , not be in line with it.. I would remove the center bearing drop spacer , and remove the shims under the leaf springs (if you installed any) . Then drive it ... it should clear up some if not go away ...... The angle is all wrong on this driveshaft ....
where did you source it? I have a slight vibration from my 2012 tacoma. Leveling kit and two inch rear blocks. I put in a carrier bearing drop and axle shim but it still is evident. Thanks.
i have a 2012 6spd with a lift, original suspension, man at 120kmph the seats are shaking, my cheeks are jiggling, at 130kmph lookout feels like my truck is going to come apart. 21,000km on it. in neutral when coasting to a stop there is a rattle coming from underneath, taken it to the dealership 3 times for this and they cant find what the rattle is
Do you get this in all gears at the same rpm? Or only at a specific road speed (or driveshaft rpm) Im asking because I get this in all gears in the same rpm range..
Weak carrier bearing crossmember and two piece driveshaft, reinforce the crossmember. or remove the carrier bearing crossmember and two piece driveshaft and replace it with Tom Woods drive shaft.
I have a 2012 tacoma and its had the take off vibes since new off the lot. I havent modified the suspension in any way. I test drove another truck similar and it did the same thing. Looks like Toyota failed Driveline 101.......
See TOYOTA Customer Support Program ZH2 warranty extension. They replace u joint and hanger and possibly drive shaft for free. Work warranted for 12 years.
Had a tundra that did this since new, 6 in lift with 35's.. Damn thing rattled and shuttered and fuckin sputtered everywhere. Tried EEEEVERYYTHING!!!!!! Spacers, drop brackets,washers...etc..I had it for two months and sold that useless p.o.s. there IS NO FIX FOR THIS!!! Sell it and buy a CHEVY like I did. Happy as a pig in shit now!!!:)))))))
