Short video on how to replace a bad mosfett on chevy or gmc speedometer instrament clusters when your vfd display (odometer prndl ) quits working. For sierra Escalade yukon tahoe silverado traverse acadia.
My back cover on the instrument cluster had screws holding it together. 2 Torx head screws and 2 Hex head screws. Other than that thanks for the informative video! It was such an easy repair! I am glad I didn't have to replace the mosfett. It just needed cold solder repair.
Jack your video is awesome, top notch! I know how hard it is to solder those little things on a board and you do it very well while using a camera! Excellent video.

Thank you for your video, I just finished to replace that tiny piece and when I turned the ignition to ON the digital display it's working again! You save me a lot! Thank you for posting!
i put one of these chips in mine and the display worked great for a couple hours then went back to very dim. i assume the chip burned out again. what can cause them to burn out so quick? or could i have received a bad chip?
so for me its been kind of frustrating because I don't see any video in what it could the problem for only the led lights going out . I have 07 suburban with both digital screens working but no green back lights . also all the warning lights work only the lights for speedo and tachometer are off. I cant find any tips and trick to fix them . fuse if good .
just get the little piece (the cost for the piece it's about $3 dollars ) and replace as he's saying on the video, I did mine and now I don't have the problem. Good luck!
