Get the inside look at this awesome1,000-rwhp twin-turbo, stick-shift, street-legal 8-second four-eye Fox Mustang. Check out the engine, interior and watch Mike bang the gears in this sick ride.
Aint gonna lie, a car running 8’s with a stick is badass. He can row them gears. I’m also not gonna lie when I say I would have went auto because even tho I can shift em that seems like a handful pass after pass consistently. Big ups to him and great job!
Not to mention this guy is going 8s on Chinese on3 turbos out the box hotside kit. Seems pretty impressive to be running them numbers without a free Texas speed 427 and pro fab doing all your welding . He with the deepest pockets will always win.
@@boostjunkie2320 8’s out of a twin turbo sbf is insane and it’s cheap af to build a sbf you’ve probably never built anything and take peoples word that it’s cheaper to build an ls and a sbf is worthless when it’s not
@@ponyboywils9950 It's insane cheaper to do with it with a junk 5.3 so get that shit out of here.......I could do it cheaper with a 7M. I've built engines you have never heard of over 800hp on stock internals.
8 second, twin turbo....that's a lot of bad-assery! Was wondering about that armrest, but at 3:09 the console closed itself 😂 Love those headlight covers too👍
I’ve always loved the 86’s....I’ve owned a couple back in the day....Thanks for sharing this Evan, if I keep watching your vids, my life responsibilities are going to have competition....👌🏻👍🏻
Man this makes me miss my black Incon TT 86 GT. I was only running low 11's pushing about 450hp through a Hurst Ram Rod shifted Toploader(didn't have the $$ for a Tremec) on Hoosier Quicktime's, but doing it with the stock hood in place made it one hell of a sleeper. Switching to a glide dipped it into the 10's while making street driving arduous. These days, with E85 and far advanced tuning abilities, I can only dream about what it might have been capable of.
So ridiculously incredible. Just looking at the steering set up freaks me out running 8’s. Slips and center console flopping all around like getting some groceries on Sunday 🤣 amazing
It's always cool to see a car that you used to own yourself way long ago looking great and all souped up. Mine was a factory manual car as well. I never took it to the track so that was good info on its near stock time in the low 14's...Now I wished I kept it,,lol! Sold it in 1988 to buy a mint condition 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Anniversary edition with the Pontiac 400 w/ 4sp. manual for $7000..That was the car I really regret selling from my younger days so long ago..
Mr. Evan, I have been spreading the legend of you're unbelievable driving for well over two decades I can't believe I'm just now discovering your Channel. New subscriber from a long time fan. On a side note I'm not surprised you have the quickest published ET for the new Shelby GT500. You are the man sir
Gotta call you out here brother...5:22, he's in the right lane, the GoPro shows him in the left lane, until the end of the pass. ;-) Just messin' with you Evan! I saw the same run was correct at the end. Love your videos! Looking forward to your next one.
@@revanevan I too bought my fox in 2000. It's an 88 gt. My best friend coworker was going off to the USAF and I got it from him. I love everything about your car. Quick question: why did you build a 331 vs a 351 based engine? I can never decide.
Lot of power to push that car 167 in the 1/4 mile at 3,400 pounds. I think you sold your self short on your shifting. I’ve been around the sport since the mid 1960’s and for a street setup you handle it very well. I’ve not drove a race car since the mid 1980’s. I’d did run at Bowling Green one time at the 1985 sports Nationals. My car ran on carburetors and no power adders but was 2,500 pounds. I ran the same speed you do but the big difference was the 60’ times. My 60’ was around 1.05. It was with the much lighter car built buy Jerry Haas I ran 8.10 at 167.00 with a power glide. I had 850 horsepower which considered a lot in the mid 1980’s. Now days that’s tow truck power. 😀. Amazing the power you gain with turbos. Really like your car. You’ve done a great job with it.
My ‘86 with bolt-ons & 180k when I was 16y/o would run consistent 14:83. I’m building a 347 stroker with twins now going in an ‘87 T-top with a five speed.
Had a stock 86 that would run mid 14s all day. 3.73 gears, no mufflers, hollowed cats, advanced base timing to 14° , non a/c car. That’s it. Fun times.
With all due respect that isn't really a stock car...I mean I know it's lightly modded but gears and no cats and mufflers with bumped timing can make a pretty good difference on the old pushrod fox cars. 3.73 from stock 2.73 or optional 3.08 (not sure if 86s could get the 308) is a pretty big difference gotta be several tenths in the quarter alone. But that is still real good for a 200 stock hp 86.
@3:52 Mike gets real nervous thinking Evan was going to ask to make a pass and JAM that sucka LOL..... Had to get off the E85, can't find it anymore anywhere within an hour or so.
that car is so cool and so fast for what it is and how much it weighs but what's even cooler is the owner you can tell that guy is just a legit normal guy that would kick the s*** with anybody
Not a ford guy but have been blessed with a passed down explorer sport 2dr that weighs 2400lbs so being a race head chevy man the Hot Rod gods start talking to me to make a sleeper lol. So please any one please give me some suggestions on what cheap v8 ford swap out the V6 I can put in plus 5spd. Also learned that the rear end is stronger than then the mustangs v8s. Open to opinions. No LS though. Lol dont have that type of money.
Aubrey Whaley what motor was in it if it was the dohc v6 thats a good size motor you can probably go as big as 351 windsor with a couple grand you can get great numbers and torque on the dino 650 hp easy with just as much torque
@@gerrylee4141 yes it has the 4.0 v6 in it now. Oh I also got weight wrong it weighs 3400lb. I don't see it but I guess it's there. Thank you I'm trying to sell the v6 to put that money in the v8, if you know of someone let me know. It run really well 215300 doesn't smoke cranks every time trans is as strong by bosses wife drove the truck before she died
This can’t be true, a guy at work told me that AAALLLLLL mustangs have LS motors. I’m glad he’s wrong.... again, and again, and again. I don’t dare tell him though.
