I'm sorry, the first statement following the colon should have been: Assuming a constant RPM, the wheel size would change the speed the vehicle is traveling at said RPM. We're saying the same thing, just from different perspectives. You are correct.

I don't mean to expand this argument further, I just wanted to clear this minor detail up: Diameter of the tire will not affect the RPM. But the diameter changes the circumference, resulting in different distances covered by a single revolution. larger tire = further distance per revolution, and a higher top speed, and it goes the other way, too. As stated, not arguing, just informing

Got a lot planned, I am currently debating between a Hellion turbo kit or an On3Performance TT kit. Just trying to do some research before buying. It has muffler deletes on it so far but that's about it until after the turbo. Cosmetic work over the winter though.

It changes the load weight of the vehicle on the engine at different shift points. You should reset the trans shift point when changing tire and rim diameter to get the most out of a vehicle. On a stick you may have to change the rear end.

ok, so tell me how you use 1:1 ratio on a dyno without using the final drive ratio? how do you by pass 1 gear when you are on a dyno?

Thanks man! Smog is bad in Cali, I got a place out there. I live in MI so we don't really have a smog test. Black is a pain to keep clean, my winter car is a really dark blue, almost black and I wash it regularly. I've had my mustang about 2 months and it hasn't been dirty for longer than a couple hours lol. I hand wash it religiously. But follow my channel for updates on what I'm doing, it's going to look very mean very soon!

I want to see what that thing does with the Boss 302 intake mani on it. The gains above 6500 should be big with no taper in power until the compressor says enough and falls well out of its efficiency range. I know on my car it flows like crazy starting at 5700 RPMs and in the upper RPMs adds up to 8 lbs/min over what the stock intake mani can flow on an otherwise stock NA car (just a CAI to fit the Boss IM) 8 lbs/min (50 lbs/min vs 42 lbs/min) to up to an 80 whp gain if tuning is equal.

More than likely it is a blow-through setup, with the MAF after the blower. Since the head unit is clocked downward, it is hard to tell where the MAF is located. I am willing to bet it is on the discharge pipe somewhere though. Also, with a blow through setup, literally the only thing before the blower is the air filter, and any piping or joints used to connect the filter to the blower. In this case he is running filterless.

Nice! On3Performance has some really good prices, their twin 76mm turbo kit is only about $3800. I just hit 1700 miles on mine today going to class haha. I'm in the same boat. You get any drones from the outlaws? I'm getting some drone and this nasty rattling from my passenger side muffler that I think is from my hanger.

Just think about what you just said. If you change the circumference, ie = distance covered by the object, you are in fact changing the revolutions needed to cover the same amount of distance as the previous circumference did. Remember, you are not changing the mph, you are changing the rpm needed to maintain that mph. Another thing to look at is a pulley setup, when changing a pulley diameter to a smaller one you change the revolution speed.

Never heard of the On3Performance TT kit. I will have to look it up as soon as I finish this online mid-term. Hellion turbo is beast. Twin or single? Make sure you keep me update with your mods. All I've done is some flowmaster outlaws. But that is just for sound. I haven't even done a tune. I got mine back in April and I have 14k miles on it already!

Yes, and that was my point in my other comments. Changing the tire diameter does have an effect on rpm, because if you go to a smaller diameter tire it spins faster to rotate at the same velocity (mph). The other person "not of sound mind" could not understand that the axle is a diameter and the tire a pulley at the end of it. You seem to be on the right path and can see logically. Learning from those that have done, when you have not is the most important part. No body know everything.

That depends on a lot of things. First off, I've never seen 2 equally modded cars line up that had the same ratio and 1 having an auto with the other having a manual trans. Second, I am only speaking from my personal experience. Don't get me wrong I love manuals, and now that I don't race anymore I would love to convert my car. But I've raced many manual cars, Formula Firebirds, Z28, Mustang GT's, 350z's, even a turbo Miata. And everytime they changed gears I pulled away.

That's true but I've raced, manual 350z's, camaros, trans ams, a turbo miata, '05 mustang, and plenty other manual cars. The point is, in those races everytime they lifted to change gears my car pulled away. ('88 T/A 377 stroker, built 700r4) You don't need a sequential 3 speed either.

I want to get this on my 2012 auto 5.0 but I wanted to wait till i finish school so it will most likely have about 100,000 by that time. Do you think my engine will be able to handle all that power with 100,000 mies on it? Man that is sick!!! I am so happy to own a car with so much potential!! SICK!!!!

I got a black one. Man it is a pain to keep clean. I checked On3Performance out. Man they are cheap compared to Hellion. I'm in Cali so smog restrictions are strict here.

For drag racing, quick acceleration, and a good 1/4 mile time it would be an automatic for the win. (400 turbo, Powerglide etc) For circuit tracks, slightly better fuel economy and the "macho" factor, it would be best to have a manual. My T/A, 23 and 0, built 700r4 FYI.

Why do these engines remove the PCV plumbing? I've heard it can make the engine detonate but that's bullcrap. lol. Just leave it on, engine doesn't look more pro with those little filters on it.

you completely agreed with my point of view, then stated I am wrong ..... 1. no car has an actual 1:1 input to output ratio, 2. tire size doesnt affect gear ratio's. i commented to the FIRST guy cause he didnt know that output tq is many times MORE than what the crank produces. thus making lugnut tq compared to a motor completely moronic. so please inform me how you think I am wrong when you did nothing to prove you are valid in calling me wrong.

I was told that i cant go below a 3.33 pulley because i will be over spinning the blower. 2014 mustang gt auto Paxton. I dont see how yall get 1,000 rwhp out of it

Yes it does. Clearly you haven't seen the effects of this on a vehicle with 44's. When you go to a larger diameter tire the engine rpms decrease, yet you are at the same speed you were at with a smaller diameter tire and more engine rpm. You can yell all you want with your cap lock on. It won't change the fact that you are wrong.

Procharger is a brand name, not a type. This is a Paxton centrifugal supercharger, same type as a Procharger.

Aw that's cute. What you are describing is true for all transmissions (well sort of true). I assure you Honda doesn't have magical trannys. When you dyno a car you pick the gear that's closest to a 1.0 ratio (usually 4th gear) on the transmission so you get a more accurate idea of the actual power. But it's a little bit more complicated than that due to things like the final gear ratio. But no shit, what you said was my entertainment for the night. Stay classy.

If your at a 1:1 ratio your tires will never be at the same rpm as your engine. The diameter of the tire has a minor effect on the final drive ratio. Although it is not directly effecting the gearing ratio, it is effecting the final ratio. Which is why in drag racing or road racing you will see people changing tire diameter to achieve the desired rpm. So your blanket example you have used as an argument is incorrect.

Kam Fam I'm putting down 671 to the tire on 6lbs w/ procharger and full exhaust lots of tuning and fuel, it is more than reasonable for that power level with 20 plus lbs can't wait to get to a thousand myself need a bottom end and walla.

That's really not true at all. I look at paxton as one of the originators of centrifugal superchargers. I mean they were an option on some shelby mustangs, and factory thinderbirds in the 60's. If anything you could say that prochager is "the" intercooled centrifugal superchager brand since they were the first to really have one included in the kit with the old p600b kit. But my point is I don't think your analogy is correct. Either way, this car is a beast!!!!

How does your comment even make sense, "I won because I suck?" And to correct you further, I am a car enthusiast; but when I race I like to win. Your comment really has nothing to do with this conversation. For a drag race I prefer an automatic over a traditional manual trans; it's just common sense. Now on a track circuit is a different story. I'm actually over drag racing and am now in the process of swapping my auto for a manual lol.

No. Even brand new it wouldn't. Built engine, forged block and built trans. Then a beefier axle and driveshaft. The better suspension and poly motor mounts. Subframe connectors and chassis stiffening. Not to mention a cage. You're looking at serious cash to make upwards of 1krwhp reliably

NO, wrong! A 1:1 ratio is only used when referring to the transmission in the realm of chassis dynometers. NOT, the final drive ratio or total drive ratio as you are trying to claim we do. Which is false, the only people that claim that in this context are you and those that don't know.

Well then that explains it all. When someone it speaking about their transmission being in a 1:1 ratio they are speaking in terms of input shaft and output shaft. ABSOLUTELY has nothing to do with the tires. Yes, tire size effects the MPH and RPM. To top that off your tire speed will be slower than you engine speed because of the diameter difference. I won't even go into the inflation of steel belted vs. bias-ply tires. You are wrong in the statement I previously replied to and this one.

almost believe? let's assume the car has 370 rwhp stock that would be my best guess. 20.5 psi / 14.7 = 1.395... 1.395 x 2 (to double the HP with every 14.7 PSI) = 2.79... 2.79 x 370 = 1032 rwhp. exactly what the dyno sheet shows. so why "almost believe"?

kingcrimson234 so are you saying this runs at 20.5psi to make 1032whp? if 370whp is made on 14.7Psi, then that is 25.7whp per lb of air pressure. so running 20.5 over atmosphere puts it at 25.7hp/psi x 35.2psi (14.7+20.5) = 904whp....
