This 150SX needs a new crank and piston. Lets dig in and bring her back to life! Will be the same for most of the current KTM, Gas Gas, and Husky 125's and 150s. Enjoy!

You have an absolutely great channel, in depth explanations on procedures. Anyone interested in working on motors especially young folks should definitely watch you. And old farts like myself learn different procedures on engines I've never worked on. Snap-on makes a great ratcheting palm driver for doing case bolts or other lightly torqued bolts. Great channel keep them tutorials coming.😃

Does KTM use a billet shift drum? Looks different from the shift drums I see in the Japanese bikes.

Hello. Yes its a aluminum shift drum on the KTM's. Its light, but it does wear quicker than the metal ones used on the jap bikes.

Ahh cool man! Small world for sure! I did ok, first time racing in this class. As you know it was a little tough, people where going down everywhere lol. I did my best just to just make sure I had no stalls and no falls. And I accomplished that. Was up to about 9th place from a dead last start. Wasted way to much time in the pit getting fuel and lost some positions like crazy, ended up 13th. . Oh man bummer on your YZ250f not finishing the race. Do you know whats wrong with it? Did you get it up and running yet?

@@danielyoungblood101 oh yeah, people down everywhere lol. I probably seen over 40 people go down lol. I have done a lot of the Saturday sportman 2 races, this was a first Sunday for me, since they don't hold sportman anymore. I'm more of a track rider but these hare scrambles are surely challenging and fun. And lots of skills to brush up on. Hopefully you get your bike back up and running well. Do you know yet what caused it?

STOP buying lock tite, they provide money to organizations to CLOSE DOWN OHV trails. Seriously, stop funding a company thats investing into destroying trails. Buy another brand, stuck nuts, permatex, anything.

We currently have the power valve adjuster screw at 2.5 turns. Turn it counter clockwise all the way, then turn it clockwise 2.5 turns. Thats where we have it at.

Torque wrench for anything?
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 11 месяцев назад
Yes. I use torque wrenches on 4 stroke cylinder heads and a few other nuts and bolts here and there. But on a 2 stroke I hardly ever need them.
@MotoBailey
@MotoBailey 11 месяцев назад
@@UpAllNight91 why not on the cylinder or the head
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 11 месяцев назад
@baileyblount on a 2 stroke Its not super critical. Cylinder bolts with a normal size wrench is kinda limited or make it hard to over tighten them. And cylinder heads on 2 strokes are usually sealed with rubber o rings, these are not overly torque sensitive and only need to be tight enough to seal. After years of doing this work you get a good feel for the tools and hardware. There is nothing wrong with torque wrenches and they surely are needed in some areas. Some people (my brother) prefer to use them on almost everything and there's nothing wrong with that.

Sorry this is no about a video a just wanted to ask you question about transmission oil in yz 250 Everywhere its said that i should fill it with 750 ml of oil But if i will be doing it with oil level bolt i only get in 450 ml What is the right way
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 11 месяцев назад
Hello. The oil check bolt is kinda in the wrong location. It was first spotting out in the early 2000's and I guess yamaha never corrected it. I used 750ml of oil in the YZ250 if its a bone dry motor after a rebuild. If its just a oil change then I put 700ml. Been doing it like that for years with no issues.

Somebody should take that bottle or red lock tight and make you drink it. Do you have any clue? What a pain in the acid is to get those bolts out. When you use the red lock type, it is made to be permanent. That is why they make blue, so stop using it man. All you're doing is making it harder to get the motorcycle part. And in some cases probably damn near impossible to take the motors apart without stripping the threads out. So knock it off.You're not supposed to use that shit and you damn well know it if you're any count as a mechanic.
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 2 месяца назад
I have about 30 years experience. I dont have a problem removing bolts with red threadlocker on them. The key is a dab will do. The only time I have ever seen red threadlocker cause an issue is when someone completely drenches the threads and bolt from one end to the other as if they dipped it in the stuff. But otherwise no issues. I have also seen what happens when a bolt comes loose while on the track. These are track bikes being put together to be as safe as possible. Blue is great for beginners but red is best if you know what your doing.
