Today we take a brief look at one amazing scale model of the 1954 Mercedes-Benz Renntransporter, made by CMC. It is comprised of 409 parts and is die-cast metal with lots of ultra detailing included; it really is one of the finest scale models you can buy. Very nice I just pulled the trigger on one on eBay at a 1:64 scale norev I hope it's got good detailing most of their cars do thanks for the video that thing is really sweet

Do they make two versions of this track. the one I have is a little bit different from the one you reviewed( it doe not have the word of top speed printed one the back) but it get a metal trim in-front of the rear wheels

Yes, there are two different versions out there, this is the Gen 1 model, You have the Gen 2 model that was released in 2016. The new version incorporates newly discovered exterior details and accessories from the archives. For example, the chromed wheel covers, an embellishment of Mercedes star inlaid in the front, and auxiliary head lamps with orange-colored lens. Furthermore, there are additional stone-chipping guards on the rear fenders, a rear plate illuminating system with two reflectors, and an oval national symbol “D” on the rear bumper”. BOTH versions are super nice.

The original does not have "max speed" in miles -- that would not make sense in Continental Europe where this truck was used to transport race cars to the factory in Stuttgart for repair and back to the racetrack.. At first there was no inscription, then came "Mercedes-Benz" at the doors. Later they added "Rennabteilung" in a smaller font of the same typeface underneath "Mercedes-Benz". The "Max. speed" was added when they showed it in the USA at the Henry-Ford-Museum. When you do some research you will eventually find the years when they added to the inscription.

It is a replica made in Sweden. Jay Leno completed it and did some -specifications- modifications. The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim has a replica. Mercedes has destroyed the original at a time when the interest in 15 year old cars was not that massive. After a major backlash they rebuilt it with as many original parts as possible. The others were made to spec. It was very expensive to do back then.
