If you take into account that the effective strength of Ukraine in 2023 was 650,000 personnel and 400,000 reservists, not counting the various mercenaries added. And currently they are unable to stop the Russian advance. It does not take much to understand the huge loss suffered.

given the analytics of "who knows someone who's been killed in the war", these numbers may not be that inaccurate. 700k killed would be consistent with the loss rates that have been leaked, the growth in size of cemeteries, the validated obituaries, etc. The AFU has held territory and gone on offensives which have wantonly squandered lives. RF also has standoff glide bombs which are staggeringly lethal and quite effective. Add that to a 5 to 10:1 artillery advantage and you get to these numbers.

But the Official Ukrainian casualties released by Ukraine in this war is only around 70,000 killed! 🧐

Those numbers are not speculative at all, they could be quite underestimated, I don't say in total, but as far as the death toll is concerned, it is certainly underestimated. That figure is obtained by adding only Mariupol, Backmuth, Andivika, and Kursk. But all the others on the remaining war front?

1,8 million casualties is a number between the lowest estimate (1,67) and the highest (2,86). Therefore are plausible. What is not plausible are two numbers: you can't have 45k KIA out of 265k casualties since June, while the total is 780k KIA and 1,8 millions casualties. Why? Because by calculating the difference it would mean that there were 735k KIA out of 1,535 millions casualties before June 2024 (1,1 wounded to 1 killed). Not even the disastrous Ukrainian sanitary conditions are THAT disastrous. And also the sanitary conditions in Ukraine did not improve suddenly and so much to have now 4,9 wounded to 1 killed (220k wounded - 45k killed). More likely the number of AFU's killed is now a little less than 700k. In other words the destruction of Ukraine military, economy and its state and future, are in full swing thanks to Zelensky and his curators.

That information looks correct, maybe a bit in the low side

Those numbers are VERY conservative. The Russians don't count those in equipment, nor those subject to strikes away from the front, etc.
