Glad to see I'm not the only one who has unglued GRP's "100% guaranteed" glue system lol. I emailed them too, still waiting for a response, good thing I ain't holding my breath 😄. All 4 tires on my Typhon 6S unglued, and she's not even that fast, ~70mph. Never had this problem with my GRP's on my Rustler that's setup for ~100mph+. Great tip with the naphtha, thanks 👍
Man I like your logic behind tire form I use a Champagne bottle they fit perfectly in 1/8 wheels and it’s 👌 👌 perfect fitment I mean just right to make wheels complete circle like it should have been I’m balancing wheels now new.... factory infraction wheels ohhh I got tire prep boss man I can hook u up with if u want to sample some of my product lol hit me up would be glad to contribute to your 150+runs
Hello As a seller of GRP and BSR tires I have to say that when you make any type of modification to the tire you void any type of warranty. Because of the nature of speed runs, manufacturers do not offer racing warranties. What does that mean, you ask. It's simple. The manufacturer can't see how racers handle the product. I've had racers show me videos of how the tires are terrible by putting them on a stand and then giving full throttle. Just doing that can ruin the tire. They are not designed for no load operation. They are not designed to free spin at excessive speeds. A speed run of over 100mph has consequences such as hitting a pebble or a cigarette butt; the tire lifts from the ground and free spins for a split second putting pressure on the belts in the GRP tire. Belts can snap from this. GRP tires have to be broken in gradually to get to top speeds. Let them expand and then contract a few times. GRP does guarantee glue joints. Under some circumstances I replace tires from people who buy them from me. BSR foams are probably the best and safest tires for speed runs. The big difference is price, foams cost more. GRP sells tens of thousands of tires as does BSR. The legitimate failure rates are very small. I have BSR tire stickers for the sidewalls of the tires, reach out to me and I'll send you some. You can guarantee 200 but if at 180, the car lifts and wheel free spins and pops because you hit a pebble or a cig bud, you were doing 180 and the tire failed. At least that will be your claim. When the GRP velocity came out, they claimed a guarantee of 160 but now if you look a thier new packaging, it says guaranteed to 80. (I have the pic of this. Wish I can post it.) And I believe thats the reason for not guaranteeing tires to a certain speed. Doubt we'll see guaranteed 200mph tires anytime soon.
Real fkn crap dam glue that they use i stopped ordering tires because of that tires would be new and glue would come lose grasias for the tip big homie 🤘🏽
