Dr. Ekberg: Do you happen to disagree with the "medical society agreement" on that saturated fats raises triglyceride levels? Very curious to know your view on this topic! Perhaps an idea for a new video explaining the function of triglycerides in the blood and how saturated fats in diet relates to those? ;-)

@@patriciacarlyle9456 Yes, I saw that one back when he posted it, but that one mainly focused on explaining why higher LDL levels(bad cholesterol) isn't always necessarily "bad". hi doc I'm struggling.., I havnt eaten meat for nearly three years apart from good fish like mackerel and wild salmon and it's not sustainable, I really want to go keto but it seems impossible if you don't eat meat?, I've heard and seen loads of stuff on how the vegan diet is best for you and there's alot of health problems associated with eating meats and dairy yet you seem to have some of the best knowledge I have come across online which is contradictory to the latter.. I'm lost in what direction to go? do I start eating meat again to fit in with a keto diet or do I carry on failing at trying to be a vegetarian on keto, obviously you eat meat so I would love to hear your opinion on this! thanks for all the content and unrivalled info! In the fall of 2019, My ALT and AST's were extremely high. (101 and 103) I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease. The doctor started talking biopsy, medication, and even transplant. When I asked if there was anything I could do, he said, "You could stop eating sugar, But you won't. " I told him I'd see him in ninety days. I went home and threw out everything in my house that had sugar or turned to sugar in the system. I began a strict keto diet. Ninety days later, I had lost sixteen pounds , and went back to the doctor to have a new battery of blood tests. My counts were now thirty one and thirty three. The doctor was astounded. In one year from my initial visit I was able to reverse my liver damage. Although I lost a significant amount of weight, I did not Diet to get slimmer, but to get healthy. Now, it is simply a way of life.

The biggest moment of this video was that people are given the exact opposite advice to get rid of a fatty liver. I got rid of my pregnant look by eating fatty meat and cruciferous green vegetables. I progressed to strict keto and I fast 19:5 every day, whilst only consuming two meals per day. I've lost 103 pounds, reversed prediabetes and kept it that way for two years. All thanks to the correct information.

Same here, I was given the advice of eating five times a day "otherwise I'd overeat" and stuffed with pressure lowering medications. Started IF and low carb (thanks to the invaluable lessons given by dr. Ekberg) and, lo and behold, pressure medications went away, one by one. But it did take two years.

I also work in the medical field but I find it sad that the mainstream medical doctors follow a very outdated book written several decades ago. I believe we should look at the data and the results. More current examples would be things like Hi fat diets versus low-fat diets and the results. The recent situations with vaccines also is an example and if specialist or doctors spoke against the political agenda which science is always supposed to question, they were snapped out. True science looks at every angle and perspective and questions pastdata so that progress can be made. I am not condoning everything this person says but I do question many mainstream techniques used by modern physicians, especially when they use outdated material.

I had Nash 1 and was able to heal my liver in just a few months with intermittent fasting and high fat diet. My gastroenterologist told me to go one a low fat diet because I had a non working gallbladder also. I told her Nah, low carb high fat. Her face was of disappointment. I go back 6 months later with normal enzymes and a ct scan that showed no more fat and it wasn’t enlarged. I thought she would be happy but she shut me down when I started to tell her my diet works lol. Gotta love it.

I did my blood test yesterday after 5 weeks of 100% no carbohydrates no sugar no fruits no starch no red meat diet. My Liver panel test result shown AST , ALT , GGT level all perfect! Far from its top range. Just 5 weeks. My fatty liver is reversed to healthy normal. I lost 4-5kg just from dieting and stop eating after 7pm till next day lunch. 2 meals a day. Only boiled using water, steam Fish , tofu , cabbage broccoli veggies , chicken breast , black coffee no sugar for afternoon lunch and green tea no sugar during evening dinner not later than 7pm. After 7pm I fast till next day lunch 12pm. The fasting time is extremely important as this time allows digestion and some hunger which makes our body burn the fat within without exercising. Exercising barely able to reach the fat around our liver. So fasting is the effective way. I had No milk (contain high fat and high sugar) . No snacks. No all kind of bread which still are carbohydrates. No cake. No biscuits. No rice. No noodles. No fruits especially as it’s fructose are directly process only by our liver! Just 5 weeks and fatty liver is back to normal with proven liver function blood test compared to my previous test result 5 weeks ago. I feel very lively light and positive. I lost 5kg. Also My cholesterol and sugar level were also extremely good blood test result! I m looking way younger and my body is nicer too. I m 33 years old male. Non smoker non alcoholic. Didn’t work in a toxic environment. I didn’t exercise. But I ate much rice , fatty red meat, and milk and cookies and fruits. I slept late before. Now I kicked those bad habit n bad diet. After recovered from fatty liver, I continue my way of eating n fasting n sleeping time. I reintroduced some healthy carbohydrates back into my diet. Such as some corn carrot , some wheat bread, a little potatoes. Please make sure u do not overdo it. I really mean only some. Lack of discipline and taking it for granted will cause regrets. I’m sharing for mankind and for those who were helpless from useless doctors. And I’m sharing in memory of my late father who passed away due to end stage liver disease.

Excellent presentation as always. I have been low carb / keto for 9 months now and lost 78lbs my recent bloods showed a massive improvement in my liver screen and a low cholesterol despite eating full fat. I eat meat and loads of veggies and my doctors response was my blood screen was better than some 20 year olds. Thank you for your clear advice big fan of the channel.

I eat full fat but no obvious carbs so no bread, pasta, cereal, rice, potatoes, cakes,pastry. I get my carbs from veggies such as cabbage, carrots salad etc as well as protein fish meat or eggs. You do not eat much fat without carbs no one eats a pack of butter on its own. That's how it works dead easy to follow.

I'm so glad I've found your videos. I have ulcerative colitis and had high numbers on my LFT and a NAFL. It took a long time to get it in check but I was sort of doing what I was told by the doctor without really understanding why I was doing these things or what they were doing to my body to help. Watching videos like this really lays out what your body is dealing with and really has helped me understand how important these prosesess are. Sadly I think most of us are guilty of taking advantage of our bodies until something "breaks down". Information, broken down, like this really helps people. Great content!

I am truly grateful for your clear understandable explanations of so many 'body issues I've never understood before. I am taking notes to remember better & intend to change my ways & eating/drinking habits to make the most of the years I have left (I'm 80). Funny thing is I've always 'thought' I ate & drank fairly sensibly, but that being said I have always been at least 20 lbs over-weight, have arthritis, low back & hip problems limiting activity, & annoying hand tremors which I now intend to address with diet changes, breathing exercises & meditation!! Thanks again Dr. Ekberg . Love & Hugs

I was squadded to the ER for Respiratory Distress secondary to CV in Dec 2020. Shortly after arriving a stat CT was performed and I was diagnosed with Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. Due to decades of steroids and the S.A.D diet I was 45 lbs overweight with mostly visceral fatty. Now, all of my labs had been perfect just a month before, but here I was with a blood glucose over 400! I was put on Metformin and insulin. Upon release I was sent home with just a double dose of Metformin and was told that the NAFLD was simply how it was. What?! The Metformin caused me to go into acidosis! I spent the next 6 weeks recovering and researching. Then, I jumped into Clean Keto with both feet. Followed by IF the next month. Despite a setback in Sept 2021 from an anaphylactic reaction and again in Jan 2021 from CV with a total of 4 rounds of steroids I am healing! My A1C is 5.6, my labs are better than ever, I lost 28lbs, but am up 11 from the steroids, BUT I am off inhaled steroids for my asthma, I look and feel younger, my NAFLD is resolving, I have more energy and sleep better.

Please explain what the problem is with taking metformin?
@thesoulofmemories
@thesoulofmemories 2 года назад
@@BonnieM93 metformin is not helping you to cure the cause, it only maintains the safe levels but with side effects of course. Cut sugar and unhealthy carbs completely from your daily life and you will reverse your diabetes. Any drug out there causes more damage to your body in the long run than help you. It just makes your life a bit longer. Please use your own judgment and research how to reverse your diabetes. And when I say cut sugar from your daily life I meant 100%. Pay attention to every item you buy at the grocery store and do t buy anything that has Added Sugar on the label. I hope you get better. In my opinion most medical doctors these days will not help you cure your diabetes but only help you manage your condition. I am sure you know about Dr. Berg on RU-vid here. No disrespect to Dr. Sten here as both doctors in my opinion are the most amazing doctors you will ever encounter.
