Could you do a general diet talk on CKD I have a friend who has CKD a 6 cm cyst in the kidney. I'm sure she will be given the wrong dietry advice. I know our doctors. High carbs and seed oils with all that linoleic acid. I told her I would forward any info to her.
it's amazing that raspberries have such low sugar/carbs & GL. raspberries are very flavorful and sometimes even quite sour and delicious. In my mind I would have guessed raspberries to have a much higher sugar content because they truly taste like natures candy. Now nobody has any excuses, you can still satisfy that sweet tooth without that bag of sour gummy worms and grab yourself a decent handful of fresh raspberries instead!
Thank you for another educating video. I have non-alcoholic fat liver since 2000, when I almost died of an Influenza. I never ate much processed food, but lots of bread and sugar. For the last 4 years I haven't eaten any processed food, I reduced sugar drastically, but kept my bread cundumption almost unchanged. My bmi is normal, but my waist circumferrnce is too big and my liver indicators are almost unchanged bad during the last 20 years, but my blood sugar is normal. I also have polyarthrosis. What blood indicators should I test to see if I have insulin resistance? Thank you!
Professor John Judkin said fat was not the problem. Sugar was the problem. Ancel Keys with the food manufacturer's backing destroyed him. That was the early 70s. It meant food manufacturers could make stuff to eat (can't call it food) very cheaply. Add grains with extra sugar, and man made chemicals. You had something very unhealthy, but a fabulous bottom line📈 John was forced to leave his profession. His new job was TV personality. He would be a guest on all sorts of quizzes. 🎉 His most famous quiz was Call my Bluff. I used to watch this programme every week. I did vaguely wonder why a professor was doing quiz programmes.😊
All my doctors consistently tell me I’m high in vitamin D, but I’ve got inflammation, depression, skin issues, all kinds of back pain. Magnesium has a lot to do with overall health too, as well as an overall balanced diet, exercise, sleep and H2O.
How can you measure if you are deficient?? And what is deficiency? This author provided NO evidence on the benefits of taking fish oil, in populations that are supposedly deficient. Am I to believe that our previous ancestors really ate fish 5 times a week in order to avoid all of the conditions he listed??
I’m hungry all the time. I’m pretty skinny but I eat clean organic foods. Most carbs I eat is about 1 potato in a soup and some tree nuts each day. Lots of eggs and vegetables. Being hungry is bad? I eat 2/3 meals each day but I have to snack on fruit/ nuts so I don’t feel lightheaded btwn meals. My job is very active.
Made it about 50 hours lost 7.5 pounds in one day and i became extremely hungry and very exhausted I could’ve went longer only if i had electrolytes with my water
Look on the beaches of the united states. It's a high tide of massively obese people. It's sad to see. You have to look hard to find even young people and children to fine slim normal bodies.
I say everything in moderation unless you have a craving for something you love, then I say drink, drink, drink away. I won't stop drinking milk or chocolate milk
I believe all the food that can sit on a shelf in a supermarket, stay away from, highly processed, look at food that is fresh for vegetables and fruit, more green than not and chicken, pork and red meat.
It gave me tons of energy! I'm 66 and I have 10x the energy I had 3 years ago and I don't have diabetes type 2. I don't care how it works. Only that it works like magic for me!
Thank you Dr. Ekberg, you really helped me a lot, your videos/lectures are very informative/useful, you're such a very good doctor and one of a kind, for 7months of taking keto/low carbs diet, my fatty liver was healed without any taking meds, to GOD be all the glory🙏
...Interesting,yet I have some questions...One is that sugar, has been big business for around five hundred years, with tobacco....Two is that grain, beer, wine, breads; have been around for thousands of years.......Fruits like dates and grapes are very sweet, and have been around for thousands of years .....Three is that, they say the average life span was very low; around hundreds and thousands of years ago....Forth, even in some contries today, with little processed foods; people's life spans are around fifty years old...I am just wondering, what people know of theses facts, and how they reconcile them, with what is known about current human physiology...
I just watched a video he did on foods to avoid and berries, salmon, kale, celery, strawberries, blueberries were all listed. I believe you have to grow your own or buy only organic .
"LFHC is okay." Personally I think that is doubtful in the long term. Reason being I inadvertently ended up there. I wasnt particularly fat so never worried about diet. I burned the vast majority of what I ate. Only lean meats and a lot of carbs. But after at least 30, maybe 57 years of this diet I needed 2 stents. My diet did change over the years towards less fat and more carbs, hence the rather vague timeline. What extra weight i was carrying was definitely over the last 30 years as my diet tended to lower fat and exercise levels dropped off due to changing circumstances and weekend activitiss. That sugar and carb load had caught up with me despite not being excessively fat.
