Hello everyone, if you are taking the LanguageCert exam this year I wish you every success, I really hope you all pass whatever level you are taking. Happy new year to you all, from David! And write to me below with anything you want to say!
@@simratkaurguraya982 Hi Simrat, an appeal might help you if you are just one mark short from a pass but then again they might reassess your work and give you a lower score ! I think the best thing would be to take the exam again after you have done more preparation. You can always try more of the sample tests on the LanguageCert website and assess your performance so you know you are ready for the exam. Good luck, David
Very good...i am impressed. Well i want prepared for it.. but my English now strong, but now i just see your video and i think this is the best video for motivation. Thank you
Thank you, David. I really appreciate your Tips. It worked for me during the exams. My result came out today and I had 50 in speaking and over 30 in others. God bless you.
Hi David, I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Today I got my speaking exam result and I got 50/50. It was my second attempt on as I previously had a PASS score and my university was requiring an higher mark. I was feeling so nervous, then I watched your videos a couple of times and I was practicing along with your question. Without them I’m not sure I could get such an high score. Thank you so much!
Dear Michela, I am extremely pleased for you. Your message is beautifully written which is testament to your excellent score in the exam. May I ask where you are from? Please recommend my channel to youir family and friends. I also have another channel called 'Towers of the Earth' which I recommend that you watch and and subscribe to. Well done and best wishes, David
@@The-English-Professor Rome, Italy! I will surely recommend your channel, thanks again for the valuable resources you share here and the time and the effort to create content!
Hello Michela I want to ask you sevrel qustion about how you get high pass in spoken exam and did you get high pass in written exam ? I find quite hard can you please help me
Hello Mr. Crofts, I must thank you from the bottom of my heart for your very informative & self explanatory videos for the LanguageCert exams. I had very little time to prepare for the exam. I watched all your videos and did some practice. I have achieved 50 out of 50 in Speaking. (Listening - 50, Writing 48 & Reading 49). Thank you once again....
Dear Dharmendra, I thank you very much for your message. It really means a lot to me that my videos help people improve their English and pass exams. All I ask is for you to recommend my videos to your friends and colleagues if you would be so kind ! All the best, David
One thing I did not mention in this video is that you should try to smile during the speaking exam. When people smile it gives a better soound to their voice and sounds more natural ! If you have any questions about this video or the LanguageCert exams please send them to me here on RU-vid i.e. post them below in comments !
Wjdj Sha, I am pleased because that is the reason I make these videos. Please recommend my channel to your friends and also my other RU-vid channel in English called ' Towers of the Earth' and please subscribe to it. All the best, David
Hello everybody, I hope you are enjoying the summer. I want to ask for your help ! I have another RU-vid channel and it would help me if you subscribed to it and watched the videos. Could you do that? The channel is in English, so it is good for your English anyway, and it is all about one of my hobbies which is Towers in different places in the World. The link is ru-vid.com/show-UC-nbVOL-O64flOEE_XtOUJg Towers of the earth a.k.a. The Tower Hunters. Thank you all very much. Best wishes, David
Good luck and must follow David tips it really worked. Smile during the exam, speak frankly, create friendly environment, ask interlocutor how are you and at the end say him thank you for your time or anything like that.. you will high pass In Sha Allah
Thanks for your comment. Please don't forget to recommend my channel to your friends and family and ask them to watch and subscribe too. Many thanks, David
Hello Mr. David, good day, there is no proper exam pattern (latest) available on net, kindly explain the pattern and the marking procedure of Languagecert Selt B1 exam. Thank you.

If you have any questions about the Language Cert exam, please feel free to write to me here in the comments section. Good luck everybody, or I should say - 'break a leg' ! : )
@@shravandach9360 Hi Shravan, well first of all a student's ability in the speaking part of the exam is marked based on certain key criteria. For example, suitable vocabulary, correct use of grammar , pronunciation accuracy etc. Therefore, I cannot say that the pass mark is 50%. It is the overall impression a student gives of his or her ability. The written part of the exam has a pass mark set at a percentage but this is not normally disclosed. As a general rule anything above 50% passes with levels of pass ( pass, high pass etc.) given for higher percentage scores. I hope that answers your question. If you need more clarification I suggest you contact LanguageCert directly. Good luck with your exam ! David
Hi David, first of all thank you for your videos, they are very useful, then I just need to know more about scores in written exams and if you are going to pass it anyway by going better in reading and listening instead of writing. Thanks
Thanks Haanboy for your news and well done in your exam ! Please help me a little bit by asking your family and friends to watch my videos too. Good luck in the future! David
Hi David, I’ve got my B1 speaking and listening test on the 18th January, I’ve been in the UK for 8 years and married with a Scottish man, so please wish me luck 😜
sir please help me I'm so worried about this exam. and on Saturday 10 Dec on 10am ma exam will be conduct.please pray for me its my 2nd try to appear in exams
Thanks for making this video I am going to prepare for B2 online exam but my speaking is weak pls give me some tips and suggestion about my speaking to pass my exam.
Thank you for your comment Shahzaib. Unfortunately at the moment it is not possible for me to give students lessons online. Try to find a teacher near to where you live and have face to face lessons, I wish you luck. David
@@The-English-Professor These videos have helped me a lot, in a few days I am going to take the A1 speaking and listening exam and these tips are very important to me, if you have any other advice it would be very well received
Well my advice is to read the text first then the questions. Then start with the first question and try to understand what information the question is asking for. You need to think about synonyms perhaps to help you. Go through all the questions in this way. Follow the instructions carefully. When you have to choose one correct answer from three or four possibilities, eliminate any crazy answers first. Good luck.
Please David, what is the band score for language cert selt b1 General training in each of the four modules. (Speaking, listening, reading and writing)?
It is part of PeopleCert an internationally recognised accreditation organisation. It is not part of the British Council or the Cambridge examination system but is an alternative to the aforementioned.
Hi David 🥰 please tell me what is the difference between B2 and C2 .. because about B2 I had already booked the date next Thursday, so feel worried about it ,,I will apply for master (postgraduate) degree in UK ..So will they not take any restrictions on my B2 test for Master's?
Hello Musawar Rehman Jutt, I have made a new video about the different levels of English with the definitions given below the video in the comments section. Please have a look at it. David
Dear Tariq, I cannot say if you are able to retake the exam after being banned. You need to contact LanguageCert directly to find out what the 'Maladministration' order means. Good luck, David
Is it mandatory or compulsory to get "highpass" in cert B2 ?? I mean if i'll just "pass" ?? I am going to apply for master's in University of bradford and they are asking for languageCert B2 certificate.. So if i just pass the exam with "Pass" grade.. Is it still acceptable?
David, might it also be an option to use other tenses than the question uses? For example, ''Describe the area where you are living''. ''I have always lived in a small town, etc.,...'', or ''I used to live in a city, but nowadays I live in a village, etc...''?
Hi Martin, yes of course you are correct in saying other tenses are possible. Really it all depends on the situation. More tenses shows a better range of English. Having said that 'I have always lived...' is still technically a present tense (present perfect). You could also write, 'I used to live in a big city but now I live in a pretty, little village', which again shows more range in language. At the end of the day it is up to the student to show how good his or her English is ! David
Hi Martin, a very good question. Yes of course you can use other tenses but they must be appropriate to the time period you are speaking or writing about. 'I used to live in a city...' is an excellent demonstration of a wider knowledge of tense use. Really the posibilties of tense use are wide. At the end of the day you need to show the examiners what you know. David
Thank you for your help to candidates!! But I want to ask you Do you think is appropriate to speak in you candidates through a mask when the exams are in from computer?
If there is nobody within 2 metres of where you are sitting , I do not see why you need to wear a mask. It depends on the location and the exam centre though !
@@The-English-Professor however, it is difficult for 15-year-olds to understand their interlocutor through the mask. I would suggest the interlocutors not to wear masks in the exams especially when they are done online. thank you for your answer!!
Hi David! How are you? Hope you are doing well.... I have to apply for UK work visa, like i have an offer of a job? What level of language cert i have to do? I just want an equivalent of IELTS General Training which should be accepted by UK embassy as well. Thanks
Hi Munajaved Javed, yes these tips are exactly the same for the C1 test but remember the level of English used in the C1 test is higher. This means you should use a higher level of vocabulary and grammar where appropriate. I personally think the difference between B2 and C1 level is mainly the vocabulary. For example if you were talking about the performance of a musical band, at B2 level you could say ' The band was really good'. At C1 level you could say ' The band was tremendous'. Good luck ! David
Hi, david sir.. i hav some questions i want to share with you. i have some financial problems, i want to give language cert test very quickly.First question where will i get language cert materials. Second question when will next intake for uk.
Thanks for your comment and questions. You can find materials for LanguageCert at languagecert.org . You can use any English language books at the appropriate level to prepare for the exam. Regarding the next intake , intake for what? You do not specify ?.
Please tell me I feel worried about it ..I think there is no problem for a Master student in UK about B2 ..B2 is acceptable for master students ? Or just undergraduate student?
Hello, thanks for your question. My advice to you is you should contact some of the universities you are interested in going to and ask them directly. Different universities might have different requirements but as far as I am aware B2 should be sufficient at most but please double check with the universities in question. Good luck, David
Hi Sana Gul, it is possible that some questions will be the same but do not count on it. The questions will be at a similar level of English though. David
Hi Joan, I don't think it is 'easy' but it is possible. I suggest you focus on higher level adjectives and adverbs and of course some general purpose idioms you can use both in writing and speech. Without knowing exactly what your level of English is, I cannot really comment specifically. Good luck, David
Dear Bushra Maqsood, follow up questions are sometimes used if a candidate has not spoken for long enough, so the fact that the interlocutor did not ask you follow up questions is not necessarily a bad thing. David
Hi David, please can you tell me how can i got a high pass marks. because i have already give this exam 2 time but i gain only passing marks.I dont know whcih one my mistake even i think my preparation is good but i am so much weak in grammer plus tenses. can you tell me this examinar count my grammer mistakes.
Hi, the examiner counts all of the mistakes which students make. I can see from your writing that you have a problem recognising which tense is necessary and what form that relates to in a verb. You really need lessons with a qualified teacher. David
Hello sir.. I did my speaking online but languagecert emailed me that you used voice imposter which i did not.. What can i do now? If i appeal on them how much chances that i succeed in it.. Or what steps they will take after the appeal..?
Hello Shah Zaib, to be honest with you I have never heard of this situation before. I think you should send an email to them and assure them that you did not use a 'voice imposter'. Ask them what evidence they have that you used a voice imposter? Maybe they will review the matter. Good luck, David
Dear David, what is "animal camp"' in italian language? I know that in a question there were these words. Could you tell me something about this question?
Dear Anna, well, I am not sure what is meant by 'animal camp' when it stands alone. Can you remember what the whole question was? If you can, please send it to me. Anyway, an animal camp might be a type of zoo or farm (maybe with animals such as sheep, cows, goats, horses etc.) combined with a holiday. David
@@The-English-Professor thanks for your answer. it was the first question. they asked if in town there was animal camp. I think... the internet connection was bad and I was in the panic!!!
Well you could send an email to Language Cert and ask them what the question was exactly. Tell them it was not clear on the day of your exam because of a bad internet connection. David
Hello! I would like to know if for the C2 exam, the exam content is among the official preparation material or if it will be something completely different. Thank you! :-)
Hi Katia, thanks for the question ! The exam content is usually very similar to the content in the preparation material. It is not exactly the same, otherwise the exam would be too easy. If you use the preparation material, the questions in the exam will come as no surprise to you ! Good luck with the exam, or should I say, break a leg ! : ) David
@@The-English-Professor Hello! I would like to know if your answer also applies to the fourth part of the spoken exam. I mean, are the topics of this part similar to ones of the preparation material? Thanks in advance, Stefania
@@stefaniascardino2582 Hi Srefania the topics are usually similar but not exactly the same. Look through all the part 4 speaking preparation materials and get an idea of topics. If your English is up to standard, you should not have any problems !
Have a Good day David, actually I have already appeared Two times in B2 Speaking module, but unfortunately , I can't meet with desire score. Please suggest me for improving this time. Thanks .. Ahmad
Hello Ahmad Hassan, it is difficult for me to say what the problem is because I cannot hear you speaking. It could be a problem with pronunciation style or it could be that you misunderstood some of the tasks and answered in an incorrect way. Try to find a person who speaks English well and ask him to go through some of the example questions from the LanguageCert website. But do not give up! Keep trying, I am sure you will pass the exam eventually. Best wishes, David
They work in different ways. For example IELTS band score 5.5 is equal to LangCert Communicator (B2) level. IELTS Band score 6.5 = LangCert Expert (C1) level. The IELTS exam has one set of questions and your level is assessed on how you answer those questions. In LangCert the questions are all aimed at the level of the test you are taking. LangCert C2 is difficult and is one of the highest bands of pass for IELTS. I hope that helps.
The area where i live ? The area where i live is a very busy part of my city . I live in a street next to a big shopping mall, there are many other buildings around my street. In my are i have 2 schools, 2 mosques, 1 college, 2 or 3 cafes and a sports centre.
Yes Meherun this is quite a good answer. Is it possible to introduce some more adjectives? For example- a big, modern shopping mall. Or two high schools or a primary schoold and a secondary school.....two beautifully ornate mosques ! The more adjectives you use the more proficient you sound ! David

You do not say which level of exam you achieved these scores in, was it B2 or C1 etc.? Where do you live? Yes it might give you eligibility for a UK university but you must contact the university to find out. See my other video 'The UK Credibility Interview' because you will probably have to do that too. I hope this helps, David
