I love these old Cherokees. That's pretty cool it was a county vehicle. My friend has an old Comanche, it's in rough cosmetic shape but it still runs great. Gotta love the 4.0.
These XJ Jeep Cherokees were amazing! Especially with the AMC 4.0L straight six. This is a really nice find! I was gonna ask how much it would cost, but I already noticed WRB's comment. Not a surprise though!

My aunt and uncle have a jeep Cherokee that's as old as me. 22 years old. And it's been through hell and back. But it's no longer on the road but they still use it for yard work and such. Those 4.0s are work horses. Very funny stories about that jeep from doors falling off and what not. Nice find !
The 4.0L in these Jeeps is a really good engine! Tough, long lasting and reliable for sure. I'd love to see a video of your aunt and uncle's Jeep if you ever have the chance!
Nice Jeep! XJ is my favorite Jeep. I had WJ and sold it because I wanted XJ! :-) Now thats two XJs in the family, my fathers 95 and my 97 both with factory 2.5 turbo diesel engine. Love that rigs! :-)
Can you give the guy a break? He DID say earlier in the video, the engine is a 4.0 straight six. Having created several videos myself, I know how EASY it is to accidentally say the wrong thing while recording video and how difficult it is to edit it out. So I'm sure his final comment about the 4.0 V-6 was JUST and ERROR of SPEECH.
