This is the first video in a series which describes Silk Reeling (Chan Si Jin and Chan Si Gong), which is a vitally important aspect of Tai Chi training. The first videos of this series discuss the theory and concepts of Silk Reeling. Later videos will demonstrate Silk Reeling exercises and explain how to incorporate Silk Reeling into Tai Chi form training.
There are a lot of videos out there that teach Silk Reeling exercises without giving any in-depth understanding of what makes those exercises useful. This video series is meant to fill in the gaps.
If you know anyone who would benefit from this video, please share it with them.
If this video was helpful for you, leave a Super Thanks. (Look for "THANKS" button next to the "like" and "dislike" buttons under the video.)

Hi Liz, thank you for subscribing! I have not taught in-person classes for some time, so I am really just based on RU-vid at the moment. Wishing you all the best in your training!

Hi Bruce, thank you for taking the time to comment with your question! Yes, silk reeling should be present in all styles of Tai Chi, but, unfortunately, it is most commonly associated with, and tends to be most obvious in, Chen style.

@@AndrewPlitt Agreed, sadly few styles other than Chen Family practice any kind of Silk Reeling, hence their taiji is weak. Thanks!
