Thank you for this. I have rosacea and sensitive skin. Years ago, I had micro needling done once and it was a nightmare for me. My skin was peeling off and raw and painful for several weeks. I assumed this meant the procedure was not effective or not for me. Now reading the benefits of micro needling for fine lines and texture- im considering trying it again and this makes me feel like maybe my response wasn’t all that out of the norm as my technician believed it to be… dunno

I had the same experience with RF microneedling. I had three sessions. I didn't find the procedure too painful, neither the days after. But then all the super dry spots and acne. I've been on oral isotretinoin a while ago so getting the acne again was horrible. Also my skin now reacts way worse to even salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. I had to put Elidel on my face to get it to calm down from all the dryness and reactions. I don't think I'd do it again. Still trying to get the acne under control again.

@@taysonkhaHello, Tayson. Thank you for warning people about what can happen with isotretinoin, especially if you get a micro needling session. I've heard that even having waxing sessions while using that medication can cause violent,painful reactions. Even more shocking was to find out that acne can come back after using isotretinoin !! Didn't know that could happen.

I have rosacea and the first time I did it I had a horrible reaction. At the time my face was inflamed pretty bad and rosacea was active. I got it done a week ago and decided to give it a go because my rosacea has been less inflamed lately. My skin was red a little after procedure and the next day woke up like nothing happened

Every month I’ve been micro needling religiously. I started 29 years ago dermarolling every month to 2 months. I follow up with a 30% glycolic peel one week prior to that. I’m 62 and my skin is almost flawless for my age. I also use retin A 1% now for 15 years. It does work when done continuously.

Schedule your treatment in Europe. Here in Barcelona (Spain), a Fraxel laser session coupled with IPL costs between 250 and 350€. RF and microneedling about the same. I do not get why laser treatments are so damn expensive in the US.

I can’t do lasers or peels either. Could you advise if you have acne scars how many microneedling did you need to see results on the scars? ❤
@dzuel09
@dzuel09 Год назад
@@myglamour121 Sure. I have discoid lupus which means I have scarring across my entire face. Discoid lesions are very visible and I’ve had the scars since I was 5 (now almost 40). After 4 sessions of microneedling my doctor and I saw visible improvement. We did evo pen +trx acid over the discoid lesions. On the rest of the face just normal microneedling. There was an improvement in both texture of my skin overall and a blurring/fading effect where the outline of the scar meets my skin. I do not have any significant acne scars but because my skin is prone to hyperpigmentation, we opted to avoid any device that produces heat. Risk is not worth it, per my doctor. My advice would be to visit a derm, I don’t do med spas, and talk through your goals and they will come up with a plan with you. Best money I ever spent.

Microneedling has been a great benefit for my skin type re texture and scarring. But I don’t do it more than every 6-8 weeks because it’s at a deeper depth for scarring. It is a huge improvement, looks so much better, but I’m talking over 2 years+ with about 6/7 treatments a year! You will see gradual improvements from the beginning, plus in between times when some scars will look slightly wider but shallower, but you need patience….otherwise save up for an ablative laser in the hands of a seasoned professional of course :)

My skin responded quite well to the 0.25-0.5 length needles. After 1 treatment incorporating both sizes on my face, my skin was radiant and smooth when I got up the next day. I used hyaluronic serum, aloe Vera, and let it absorb after cleansing. Then go in! I might Spritz on a lil Rose water with glycerin. And it took me a long time to see good results on my scars. You can get good results on scars with fraxel laser also. My only request would be to not do these treatments if you don't have some kind of scars like pitted or raised. There are much better treatments to address dullness or pigments etc which are not at all intense and give awesome results.

I just did a chemical peel under my eyes with full strength lactic acid and my skin looks amazing. Microneedling didn't help me. Chemical peels are the best thing to use for texture. I used to use glycolic acid but I now prefer lactic acid (especially around my eyes).

Wow you are brave 😂 that's a super high % for under the eyes. But also the strength depends on the ph of the peel. For example at pH 1.5 you have like 87% of free LA, but at pH 4 it's like 37%. So it's a world of difference.

Does this mean one should only seek treatment every 6 months? The medical spa I went to would schedule me to come back after 5-6 weeks. If so, I spent way too much money going as frequently as I did in 2023. I haven't been back since fall b/c the results have been too mild for the cost.

Dr. I do microneedling at the derm on a monthly basis. My daily routine involves the use of a red light therapy mask. I read that because RLT helps with healing, it affects the efficacy of microneedling. What do you think?

Good morning Shereene, hello from Germany 🥰 I love your posts, they're amazing!! By the way, what's your viewpoint on Morpheus 8 versus Hifu? Which one would you recommend for tightening skin? (Talking about in general rather thickish skin, not much creeping or so, BUT of course some laxer areas especially around mouth and nose, when looking down etc. I've been recommended either of these two procedures by the same doctor, I just don't understand the difference and what's better for tightening. What's the difference between these? .

Hi, so I was told by a med spa here at my first consult that I should get microneedling done every 4 weeks and I thought it was a bit excessive so I never went back and got it done. I’ve never had it done before but I have SUPER sensitive skin, some texture issues and scarring. How often would you recommend microneedling be done?? Is every 4 weeks too much? Should I avoid going to this place for skin treatments and find someone else? If it’s your first time, is there anything to do to prepare??

@tauraäæàâãąåáāăąàâāæăâąäå
It takes my skin 8 days to totally go back to normal after microneedling but around 2-3 weeks until I see the glow, and MANY microneedling sessions to even notice actual results. Ive done over 10 microneedling sessions and barely see a difference with my acne scars, but I definitely notice a reduction in wrinkles.
@shanikkas

Did it hurt and you’ve still have scars!😔
@tauraäæàâãąåáāăąàâāæăâąäå
@@shanikkas it feels like a sunburn if that makes sense. Because they numb you face first you wont feel the needles going in the skin, but you will feel heat and pressure. Its not ultra painful though, if you are extremely sensitive to pain then maybe dont do this. The pain lasts for about a day (again, it just feels like a sunburn) and after that it feels normal. I mean, i might have to keep doing more microneedling sessions for years before it gets rid of my scars completely, but I find that Retinol does a better job at that. Its definitely thickened my skin and collagen, I look 24 even though im 28. I dont use botox anymore and I have barely any wrinkles - whereas before I used to have deep wrinkles in my forehead.

(I'm 55F) I had this done about two months ago and I'm scared to get it done again. I use tightening creams for under my eyes that help pretty decent but after my microneedling treatment my under eye skin (I have thin skin) was so saggy for about 3 to 4 weeks. I wanted to do more treatments for the fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes but I'm terrified that it's going to permanently wreck my skin if I keep going back? Also, are you saying that we should only get micro needling done every six months? I watched some of these RU-vidrs who do it like every month or two. Their skin appears very thin, almost translucent, I can't describe it it's weird.

I’m new to the micro needling world & I do it myself at home with the Dr. Pen because it’s just so expensive to get it done professionally. I get extremely red & puffy afterwards even when I barely hold it to my skin. I do have sensitive skin. Is it normal for some to get this red & swollen? I just micro needled yesterday & it was only my 4th time. I’ve taken some Benadryl as I usually do afterwards. I guess I’m wanting to know if it’s okay for the skin to be this irritated. My neck looks like it has welts on it but that’s fairly standard for me. Am I holding it to the skin for too long? Please advise!!
