@@powerforth8400 I like this one more but Devon with Juji was great. Wish Juji could get Denis to do a colab with him, just imagine Denis doing the crazy stuff they did.
"so Ill say you just do one more set" Larry looking a bit worried, realising he's training with the worlds strongest man "yeah I can do one more set" (150 fucking kg log press)
@@JesseWorld1000poundages lifted as a percentage of bodyweight are always much higher at the lower end of the bodyweight spectrum. Just the way it works. To start hitting the really heavy weights larger increases in body weight (to improve leverages etc) are mandated.
Nathan L But real talk it’s only 100lbs over Thor’s own weight. Wheel’s was much more impressive when compared pound to pound on that incline or bench.
@@vain966foe812 hey, I've seen one episode. I enjoyed it quite a lot. But I still prefer this particular series. There's something about the dynamic between Halfthor and Larry that really draws me to it. Maybe it's the "caring Sensei and motivated pupil" vibe they have. Furthermore, watching Larry outside if his comfort has been intriguing to say the least.
I think it's pretty impressive that a big guy like thor is using the same grip width as larry and still is able to to gain control of the weight, at thr same time the bar is set much higher for larry only because of the difference in their hight. This was interesting. Nice work.
Its legal in strongman but im sure the reason is because in the meat theres 3 pressing movements after each other in one event, if the wraps fall off he wont be as confident.
Only thor could arc fail a lift then bust out 4 more reps after. "Don't take it...don't take it....that shit is Mine!!!" That reminds me of a lot of things Arnold Schwarzenegger said too to fail always never give up. Thats what it takes to get the...."POWER!!!" XD
It took me quite some time but I found out that the song at 12:42 is Called “Let’s go(the royal we)” by Run the Jewels. I still can’t figure out the intro song though.... ):
I really hope you win or at least get podium, and hopefully you continue to pursue strongman. You really remind me of mariusz pudzanowski and he is IMO the greatest strongman of all time.
I was thinking the same thing man. I loved to watch Mariusz P., he was the man. The intensity that he brought to the game was inspiring to me. I remember watching a strongman where he was pulling something with a harness and also pulling with the rope. I believe it was a train. In the middle of the pull he turned his head and threw up spewing everywhere, and then proceeded to finish the pull. Who does that? He also looked the best for being a strongman.
@@SMR_-sb4ck yeah his physique was insane for a strongman, just like Larry. And yeah his intensity was on a whole other level compared to his other competitors it really gave him that edge. MP will in my eyes be the most complete athlete and strongman.
You know, when Mariusz was competing I was a kid around 13 yrs old at the time and i loved watching him, probably because he looked like a superhero compared to the others who were big, strong but big guys who had alot of fat lol. I've learned later though about the strongman politics during his time and how there was a split. I remember he chose, what I learned later the circuit of strongman that was way more about stamina, athleticism and coordination vs the other strongman branch that out of 4 years he competed in once (and didn't make the podium). Most of (maybe all, but definitely the majority) his titles were won in what is seen as the lesser of the 2 strongman competitions. I didn't want to admit it but honestly, strongman back then was way, way lighter. I hope Larry surpasses MP in strength cause he needs to be a level stronger (static strength wise) to make the podium once he goes pro.
Good luck Larry ur gonna knock it outta the park 👌👌👌I believe in ya u have a very awesome way of getting to learn Bcuz ur always focus and ur always open to advise from others and I think that makes u a great athlete overall so good luck man God bless
My jaw hit the floor whenever that beast hit the rack with 440 and held it at the bottom position at a long pause, while telling Larry not to take it only to do the rest of the set! That is absolutely freakish strength.
Strength is a combination of things. Larry utilizes all of them except 1 that I can tell. All of the top worlds strongest men get fatter to create better leverages and have more mass to perfom better with the types of lifts they do, Natural Stone for example. Larry is clearly strong enough but strong man is about more than strength.
On the log presses they have to lean back a little because of how bulky it is, so it is like they are doing a hybrid of incline/overhead at the beginning. So he has a lot more practice at that range of motion than a flat bench.
