The tow tunes are exactly how it should be. That’s that why the commercial Variants of the 6.7 Cummins make 2/3 the power in the commercial hd trucks vs what they make in the ram 2500. De-tuned so they last longer under higher loads
Right, as long as the tune is clean.. I had the ts6 tuner on it when I got it.. and it was hard on the Trans when I used it. It felt Jerky and rough. When I used the hydra..I was able to notice a huge difference and how the gear changes became more smother and it overall was a good tuner to use. I used it for when I hauled cars from co part on a trailer. And in ky we have some huge hills and whatnot. So the tuner gave me the fuel etc needed to take these hills at a good speed and have the power and confidence needed to haul. Unfortunately I sold the truck, the next guy blew the motor.. from what I was told. And it took forever to get up and running again. I haven't seen it in a while. I think with the tuner on there it was neglected causing some sort of failure do to the hydra and a in experienced owner who got it. Cheers and thanks for the comment. @@RossTruckAndTrailer love it , really wakes the 7.3 up. Run mine on 80hp daily driver and 80 hp tow with my boat, big difference. Just have to remember it's not a race truck, EGT will kill a 7.3
mines been running great with it for a couple years. There’s a no-start tune I didn’t know I had when I first owned it, and thought it was killing the truck but I just didn’t know anything then lol
Absolutely. In a basic tunes it seems effortless to get the truck rolling in traffic and such. On a stock truck you gotta give it more pedal for sure. Overall a great investment. In time I'm sure it pays for itself
The 25hp option is the reason I wanted the Hydra. I calculated that you'll make 600 lbs of torque @ 1300 rpm. The TS which the lowest it goes is 50hp will make the same torque but @ I think 1500 rpm. As you know the higher the rpm the more gas you burn so the Hydra is more efficient to tow heavy loads.
My hydra - I used a there website and a laptop because the chip has the USB cable. So I just picked my ecu info on the site and it gave me a lost of tunes for my truck available.. just pick and click and it took mins to switch / and change the tune or the order of the tunes too. The ts6 was on the truck when I got it. And damn it was hard on the trans.. rough shift.. its nothing compared to the hydra.
