I wear a very simple hair elastic on my left wrist just in case I need to throw my hair into a ponytail. It's not gaudy by any means. In fact, it goes quite well with my petite Morse code bracelet. 😁

Hiya Shea, love this vid, very informative. I'm 52 and I don't act it and [hopefully] don't look it either although I have been through 2 life changing health things in the last 4 years. Would you be interested in doing a video for people to dress as though they are not "old" please? I have no idea what to wear anymore, I don't want to be someone dressing too young. i suppose classic is a look but i was a goth years ago and my style now is more boohoo. Please Please Help! ;-) xx

👍and yet I ended up wearing everything in the frumpy category yesterday. I left the 🏠 in an outfit I would only wear when staying inside. However circumstances were out of my control : old MK sneakers, leggings with pockets, form fitting t shirt, old bra, and a cardigan sweater that I hang out inside in. Tote bag mm lv neverfull with the world in it.
I'm 55......I absolutely hate RU-vidrs who do videos that have more drama than a year of soap operas or thier style tips are stupid crazy. Bravo Lady.....your personality makes you a natural! Engaging, upbeat and thank God.....sensible ❤
This works for me - a coffee rinse instead of conditioner. I have medium brown hair with a few grays and the coffee makes my hair color look richer and my hair shines! I use leftover brewed coffee and rinse after it with clear water.
If you're growing your grays out then it's just how it is. I give that a pass. I know someone I won't name who was CONSTANTLY letting her roots grow. She would wait three months then color her hair. CONSTANTLY. For over 15 years. It was severe and she just always looked messy. (Actually she does so many things Shea mentioned. She has that purse with a gazillion compartments and always has a hair tie on her wrist with hair in it... 🤢) Anyway she finally let her hair go gray and it's so much better. So... I support you growing out your grays! It's a process and it's so worth it.
Growing out my greys too. Sadly nothing to be done about the colour difference without damaging my hair. BUT improving my makeup and not looking scruffy really helps. Great video.

I love the tips! I committed a frumpy mistake last week. Quick note though about Nordstrom Alterations because I manage for the company. Alterations aren’t free for everyone. This is a benefit for Nordy Club Card Holders... it covers basic alterations and also on Nordstrom merchandise that is full price. There is also enhanced alteration benefits for Nordy Club Card Holders with a a certain status.
If we find a dress or skirt we love, but the length hits at the wrong part of our legs, get it hemmed. Find a good tailor or seamstress who knows how to alter women's clothing Everyone's figure is different and a tailor can correct any fitting issues. If you are small on top, then having the garment taken in at the shoulders and even the width of the sleeve can help. If you have gained weight, buy the next size up, then have it taken in by your go-to alterations professional. You'll never look "Frumpy" again. Thanks, Shea, for the helpful & fun video!

I totally agree with you about the length of dresses and skirts. I always say it has to hit about the knee or at the floor but no inbetween because you will look short and frumpy. Congrats on reaching 1M subscribers!

As a san Diegan, I know a thing or two about flip flops. Get a pair of Rainbows or Reefs. They last forever and are extremely comfortable, as they form to your feet as you keep wearing them.
... I've worn those " slight wedge heel" blingy sandals for many years....like 20. ( I don't refer to them as ' flip flops'.. noooo, lol) Yes, instantly elevates a simple outfit / dress / jeans , whatever. ..I don't do " cheapie flip flops", because my feet are older and I just can't, lol..... And I started wearing good undergarments that" pushed those puppies up" since High School.... Yessssss ma'am. So I'm doing ok, Miss Shea. 😊😉☺️🙏👏 Thank you, cute video. Oh! On a closing note... I try to not be " frumpy" even at 65 .... It's a challenge at times, lol !!!

Oh, the horror of "diaper pants"! I had a pair of skinny crops that I liked and were comfortable...until I looked in the mirror from behind. It was grim; I couldn't get them in the bag to the thrift store fast enough. Right now, the one one of those I'm subtly violating is the visible gray roots. It's just a matter of deciding to touch them up one weekend in the near future, but I will - thanks for the reminder. Your videos always give me a laugh with the useful advice.

Have you done a video on blazers? I love jackets because I get an allergic reaction to sunray. I need to always wear jackets or long sleeves when going outside.
