"To showings of you awesome power of Flex Seal, I saw my Lada racecar in of half, then make tire of Flex Seal and sheet metal screw, then race around of ice track!"
As an added bonus, the screws that eventually do come off (some seem to already have) can double as puncture traps for the poor saps driving behind you.
I recently read that motorists should limit their speed to 30mph or 50kmh when driving on snow chains, why not see how they cope with (much) faster speeds? Would love to see a video on this!
i have allways wondered about if this would work. Everybody said it would not. It would shred the tires, fly out of the tire, puncture the inner tyre, all kinds of excuses. You proved me right. So thank you for that !!!!
Epileptics are not allowed to drive in the US, but we appreciate you blowing the horn at us, screaming out of your windows, flashing high beams at us and trying to run us over. At least we have some foresight into how we're going to die.
We here in Vermont have used those screws,Have used self tapping sheet metal screws that work well too.And instead of duct tape we just use a worn out smaller tire "cut to fit" on the inside.makes the tire last longer and add weight for even better traction.
ive seen a video of a guy in canada that screwed studs in from the outside into his motorcycle tires. he screwed them into the meatier part of the teads.
My hats off to ya, I have a set of wheels with chains wound around them here for snow journeys but I'm gunna try this this winter I think. Might just fill them with polyfoam instead of tubes tho to just delete any puncture issues popping up. Great idea, and appreciate the effort involved to show me it. 10/10 video
No Carolyn. "Tyre" is the round rubber thing. "Tire" is feeling exhausted. Unless you are in america, where they only *think* the native language is English.
Not everyone who uses English spells everything exactly the same way. There are more than one correct spelling for many words, depending on where you live. Color/colour, tire/tyre, spelled/spelt, aluminium/aluminum, flavor/flavour....... Before you profess to be the one who knows everything about the English language, you really should learn that it is used somewhat differently from country to country. There are basically two standards: Imperial and American. There are some variations within those standards as well. Your sentence used no capitalization, a comma splice, and no end punctuation, on top of being factually wrong. No black guy is named Tyre; it's Tyree, and tyre is a perfectly acceptable spelling for that round rubber thing on your car.
douglas carpenter great eye! I have no carpentry experience and would never catch that. He did say "self tapping" like 20 times, that must have been maddening! lol.
douglas carpenter you think this dude knows what self tapping screw is? I live in US so I know. These screws are obviously Western design, nothing like that was available in Soviet Union, so this all came from tge west. When Russians saw them, it was for them samorez, aka self tapping. They obviously never seen real self tapping ones, or only start learning whst it is, and for starters any screw from the west is self tapping lol. Give them time, they will get to learn what real western type self tapping screw is, or this dude is no carpenter and for him ANY wooden screw is just nicknamed samorez, aka self tapping. He probably is no woodman whatsoever
how to escape gulag in the winter 101: 1. buy kar off gaurd with minimal wage. 2. break wull of cell and get scru 3. add scru to kar and run over same gaurd with minimal wage and get ur muny back for test. 4. enjoy freedom that last about... 1 tank full of gas. when Russian army find u, they drop Tsar bomba on u for extra tests to make sure it wasn't a mistake the first time.
I just compared their last shot to the one before, it looks like some screws went through the tyres (It looks like it was cracking so may be just the tyre had a cracked and the screw went through)
FYI: A self-tapping screw is a screw that can tap its own hole as it is driven into the material. For hard such as metal or hard plastics, the self-tapping ability is often created by cutting a gap in the continuity of the thread on the screw, generating a and cutting edge similar to those on a tap.
We use screwed & studded tires for ice racing of all types here in the US... Flat track(motorcycles, ATVs), drag racing, and road courses on frozen lakes... .... And we've been doing it for decades.
This RU-vid channel is the best! Anyone can give even the most stupid suggestions even if they are very time consuming they don’t care, they just do it
that was it! if you guys have icy road in america or russia or any country, you guys should follow like this guy.. and they will never be in accident situation anymore.. to prevent sliding or slippery on the road.. i wish this uncle russian guy make idea on how to make more grip on raining day
Only in countries like Siberia or Russia could you do this... If you tried this in England "Hey, can we test our home made spiked racing tires?" - "Sure, provided you've filled out paragraph A) of section 37.C.1.A of the Article on Driver Vehicle Safety 1057, then bury the paper work in a hole, mark the coordinates and then send them to the health and safety office, they should get back to you within about 6 months but, most of the time it can take up to 5 years"
Lioncash at least England is better than Singapore where u can’t even do these kind of shit! Unless u managed not to get caught. Too much regulations and shit over here!!! The only benefits are Low crimes, good healthcare and education...already feel like migrating to the US
Go find yourself an empty snowed out road, or a lake covered in ice (that's what we do in 'murica)!! Winston Churchill didn't lead the boys to fight for nothing [freedom]!!
why does no one know what a self tapping screw is?! Those are sheet metal screws. Point on the screw=sheet metal or wood screw. Drill point on the screw=self drilling screw. Serrated and tapered threads on the screw near the end=self tapping screw (it taps it's own threads in a pre-drilled hole hence "self tapping")
I live in Wisconsin, USA. We use to go watch the ice races during the winter. They would have them on tracks made on the lakes and rivers in the area. The tires had to have those screws put in to race, so knew how well they would work.
My brother and I did this with a Mazda 323 almost 20 years ago, but we used grade-8 nuts and bolts. The roads were buried under several inches of ice for two weeks, and his car easily got around faster than anything else attempting travel.
My self propelled lawn mowers wheel is bald and slipping! I put self tappers in the little bastard and shes got gip again!! Thanks for the idea and off I go to mow the lawn!! Cheers from the sunny WILLAMETTE valley Oregon!!!
guys like this so he can see! i got an upgrade to this! you can get steel mesh on rolls on ebay and stuff, cut it so it lines the inside of the tyre, screws through the mesh, and grab one of those wide rubber band like protectors you get in lorry steelies and stuff, adhesive that over, fit inner tube and tyre and inflate BEFORE THE ADHESIVE SETS! when you do that, the screws will be supported in the carcass through the mesh, so you could push it a lot harder and not worry about it. it lasts a lot longer. source - banger racing don't stop in the UK just because the snow starts.
I noticed a lot of people asking what was the song at 7:10 and 7:54 I do not know but I will give $20 to your pay pal account if you can tell me. I spent the last 2 hours trying all sorts of music apps, google, and watzatsong. No luck. :(
at 7:42 if u trurn volume to max u can hear the words "where are you know" sing by male so its some kind of remix of alan walker faded gl seraching or they combined 2 song
That was. Impressive. I figured the grip would be epic but I figured the screws would push out or the tubes would pop or both. I was sooo wrong. Which is a good thing.
tubes in the tires? :S when i was a kid that is how i thought car tires where!!! until i took auto class in high school lol but lookie here, tubes in car tires. og Russia :P♥
I did this to a bicycle with roofing nails through a snow tire over a regular tire (was pinching the inner tube otherwise). It worked pretty well, but the nails did wear out quickly.
