@@kattn01 If that question was for me, then the answer is "no". My friend and colleague Alexei from BMIRussian is though, he was with the Garage 54 gang when they went to Europe. He's basically the guy who runs BMIRussian, I'm just the English translation/voice-over guy)
TheCitroenman1 I have had, over the course of years, 7 fiat 124s. The Lada is a toughened up 124. I miss my Fiats and wish I could get one again. I have never been hopelessly stranded by a fiat. Fix It Again Tony.
I had a Lada 1600 SLX in 1989 from new. It never failed to start, as you would expect ! The only thing that let it down was the dreaded rust bug. Sad to see it go.
Ladas are great cars for people who want a car that will run forever and don't have a huge amount of money to keep it on the road. Fantastic cars. But your method of getting into the car could have been better, just get a can of deicer and spray it around the car door this will melt the ice and you can get in the car with ease.
I just realized that it might not be a coincidence these Ladas have the battery so close to the exhaust manifold, my 2106 is the only car I own that always start in Swedish winter
Hey guys, you´re really crazy. I love that stuff. In fact I couldn´t stop laughing, how you opened the door with a hatchet and a hammer. GREAT!!!! This video is the best advertisement for Lada. They actually should pay you for that. This vehicle is probably indistructable. Perfect. But the toughest thing is, to go outside at that temperature. -30 C. Are you serious? I wouldn´t go out anyway. I wouldn´t go more than 2 m away from a nice hot crackling oven. You are really tough.
Super cold temperatures and plastic don't mix well with hitting. Too many cars today have plastic and rubber parts which just don't handle the cold very well. The Lada is probably nearly perfect for super cold temperatures. It could use some improvements, but it's fine just the way it is.
I so wish i got one when they were not considered a collectors item and way to much money but my wife wouldnt let me cos she was bothered about being ridiculed which is ridiculous
JIGA BACHI butt and sweater are. Two different things though? I can be warn upper half and my girlfriends booty will be cold and make me cold in my lower half in bed at least lol idk I'm rambling I'm,drunk fml
@@maxinnn1 Not really. The cold engine oil doesn't flow properly, so the turbocharger won't have sufficient lubrication at a cold start. When the engine reach its running temperature, the turbocharger gets so hit the ambient temperature doesn't matter much.
Yes, but when people speak of block heaters for their cars or trucks, they're almost always referring to either dealer-installed or Canadian-tire bought oil pan heaters.
I really like these guys and their channel.Im just pointing out that once ice or snow forms at 32degrees F or 0 degrees C generally it doesn't get colder . So in essence the ice is helping to keep the entire car at exactly the freezing point. Something I probably wouldn't have thought of St the time either.qa
mercedes diesels > any lada ever The russian guy in video noted that a "Late model mercedes" wouldnt be able to perform this task, nothing beats the older 4 and 5 cylinder mercedes diesels
Nope. We did it to a friends VW beetle one year in Virginia. One winter in the early 90's we got about 4-6 inches of ice all over. Got in lots of trouble
Its true! Now anyone trying to sell me one is asking for $20 and A FULL SANDWICH! It used to only be $10 and half a sandwhich, then this channel got the word out and prices has skyrocketed! Hahahaha
Saved or Slaved yeah. Have you ever wonder why water in a lake doesn’t freeze under the ice? Or why Eskimos used to build igloos? Air is what’s really cold, especially air in movement. There’s a lot of factors that goes in like if you put ice around something already cold it will not get warmer, but it will keep the heat in.
Lassi Kinnunen my wax can be applied near sub zero temps and last almost 3 weeks in winter, you can do it lol we do it in heated car wash bays in Canada and it is worth it as my car is so slippery keeping it wet during washing is difficult lol
If we ever send humans to Titan, they better be Russians from the far north. -120F and they would say "Just put on your nicest coat and you'll be fine."
why does spraying water on a car cool it down more? if it is being frozen by ambient temperature, the ice is an insulator, it would help the engine warm up faster, and is therefore completely meaningless to this experiment, most likely actually negating the issue the thermal casing is trying to solve by trapping excess engine heat, rendering it clickbait
As much punishment you guys do to those Lada .... Makes me wish I could get one! Damn, those things are just about indestructible! lol Как много наказаний вы, ребята, делаете с теми Lada .... Заставляет меня жаль, что я не смог бы получить его! Черт, эти вещи просто нерушимы! lol
come to winnipeg , canada you will see what is cold , -30 to -50 easy, some time -70with wind chill .... but our house and car so well built we dont even feel that much. CANADA Have most top quality and well built house for winter in the world.
Your battery temperature check doesn't count because you left the engine running while you got the hood open. That warmed everything up. We still have no actual indication of how effective your sponsors' thermal case actually is.
I don’t see this being that much of an issue, insulation works both ways and we had proof that the heating pads where working, that’s enough for me anyways, does what it describes.
@@ApolloTheDerg I thought these heating pads, will work constantly, there is no use of them, if they dont heat the battery constantly during the night.
