I'm addicted to doing Side Missions. I just feel like if there's a side mission that can level me up way beyond the level I should be for the main Missions I NEED to do them. So in every game that has side missions I always end up way to OVERPOWERED for the main mission and I love it.

Whenever my buddy and I play a co-op game together he will ALWAYS try to go behind a waterfall, even when it’s blatantly obvious you can’t go behind it. He just has to check.
Multiple games have taught me always check waterfalls, caves, secret doors, and if you see something that looks hard to get to, there's definitely a way, you just probably don't see it yet.
"Control" was a great game for destroying objects. I loved going into office rooms and seeing the games physics engine play out as I levitate books and projectors.
Here's one for you: obsession with health packs. In Half Life 2, before transitioning into a new area, I would gather up every health pack and use the gravity gun to shoot them into the new area before going in. And as for leaning into it, I have actually knocked stuff off my desk.
Reminds me of Halo 2 in the Regret level.. Me and my brother would grab every spare weapon and put them in the gondola so if we ran out of ammo, we'd go downstairs and swap weapons, so we weren't forced to improvise on the fly.
Remember games like the original Wolfenstein or Doom with the hidden rooms? As bad as #10 is, how bad is it that at one point gamers were trying to open doors that didn't exist just in case there was a secret? I remember trying to strafe-open corridors of walls. Also #4 - you gotta test those boundaries like fall damage. Why? Because if there's no fall damage, well, you've just found a short cut in some areas!
Another behavior that I've found that I do a lot: Having relaxed, leaned back smarm when I'm facing waves of minions, fodder enemies, or things I've done before. Then, when the final challenge comes up, I need to concentrate, or things get serious, scooting forward to the edge of the chair or seat, with absolute perfect posture. Like changing how I orientate my body will make things easier or make me respond and play better.
going through every option in character creation, i'm not talking like the sliders for chin and such, i'm meaning like "oh this hair have selectable options for changing its look, well guess i gotta see them all to see if one look is better then the other" or with like crafting, doing like 1000 of the same item because of that 0.00001% chance of getting that sweet roll, just to throw it away like 3 levels later because i need to keep up on the gear score for my level. and finaly, ALLWAYS. TALK. WITH. EVERYONE. doesn't matter if they say anything interessting or, important, just on the offshoot that its something to be recorded in a journal or just the thing about having it done in dialogue that maybe changes as the game progress? gotta have it, gotta see it.
I literally LMAO when I saw the ammo reload one. I too have been bitten by the ammo bug 😂🤣😂🤣 I shoot one bullet out of a 50 round clip...........reload. I can't help myself 🤦♂️🤦♂️
LOOT EVERYTHING!!!! I can't stand the thought of missing out on loot, do I need that med kit, or that weak weapon... No not really but I still want it and it will be mine and sitting pretty on top of my horde of other junk that I absolutely had to have.
On the issue of blowing stuff up I remember back in the day the original mercenaries game. Man did I push the boundaries on that. I would pick up soldiers from all different factions drop them in the middle of the map on the island city of punyang. Drop a grenade from a building and then watch them all fight it out. I would also call in airstrikes artillery strikes set up c4 just a level every single building an entire cities just because I could. And you know what it's still gratifying today
I cant move forward in games like Skyrim, Doom, Fallout, and Farcry without first checking the map, planning my moves, making sure im up to date on challenges, exploring secret rooms, and opening every container and taking every item. Sometimes it takes away from the experience. Once ive completed a game completley, ill go back through and play normally on max difficulty to really enjoy the game.
It frustrates me beyond belief when you can break items and you get Jack for it lol it drives me crazy when the entire area is full of breakable items with nothing in it. I've been trained by almost every game I've played to smash everything and it's makes irritated when there is nothing there. Lol
well, I've been planning to play a certain games off work, then somehow gameranx titles popping up in my youtube while having a meal, so here i am just watching random gameranx videos one after another not actually playing games, i feel kinda itchy to play games bcs of it but then i got curious about every topics gameranx talks about, quite a paradox huh. 😶
I would wear certain outfits depending on what’s the situation. e.g Wear the scrappy outfit at the beginning and wear the advanced super suit at the end.
My wife always laughs at me because anytime I'm playing a game with corridors or hallways I am always trying to lean my body to see if I can look around the corners better
Constantly saving especially with games that don't have the auto save feature especially games like Pokemon and EA Sports games and games that require memory cards.
If a game has a way for me to create multiple save slots, I always create 2 and cycle back and forth overwriting them as I go. It's a game industry trick we'd do in case you run into a bug, you will always have a save prior to the incident you can go back to. This is partly to be sure it's repeatable when writing up a bug report and also to be sure you don't have to restart and lose a ton of time/effort/blood/sweat/tears trying to get back to where you were before everything went sideways.
The biggest sin we do. Paying full price for an unfinished game and then buying the dlc that should have launched with the game or should have been a free download in an update. Thankfully this practice isn’t as common as it used to be due to cosmetic items and season passes making more money then optional dlc. The new MW and MW2 has been the most profitable cod games in history despite there lack of dlc pack due to the season passes and operator bundles. Which is a W for the people that still play cod for some reason. Because it doesn’t exclude them from important parts of the game, just cosmetics that don’t have any advantage over players that don’t pay for them
Things I do: Whisper during stealth, be really still during stealth, acting like my controller is a gun when shooting and screaming when there’s a jumps scare
You forgot an endemic one: persisting with teeth-grinding, controller snapping challenges. They contribute nothing to your impact on the world, they lower your mood, probably don't do your heart any good, but you can't just walk away and let the game WIN. Only another gamer can understand why we put ourselves through such things on what's supposed to be a recreational activity
Scream obscenities and cuzz the TV out when I lose and when I win aswell been playing dying light waiting for stay human to come out and been playing hell raid. It can be challenging to say the least in the highest difficulty
To this day, not only do I not understand the leaning while playing racing games, but I also judge those people harshly and with a considerable amount of comedic anger
About pressing buttons, what really affects sometimes is how long you press then, making you jump higher or lower based on of you pressed or quickly tapped it
Pushing buttons harder for more “effect”. Making noise makes the move stronger. Cheek clinching always makes you jump better. Leaning into the turns when driving/racing. Sitting up/leaning to the side in real life to look around something in the game (non-VR obviously)
2 my wife once blew up every building in Navezgane, just because she had access to dev mode and could could spawn infinite rockets. I had to completely start a new 7 days to die game for us because every POI was rubble.
