Thanks again Bill! For turning me on to some new and old things and reminding me to listen to Black Sea again!! Which I did followed by the 4th side of Funky Nothingness, which just ended, Peace!Btw I think I have to vote for Drums and Wires as my Fav, XTC LP⭐!
Always loved the Yes Album and no Rick Wakeman in sight. Excellent in every way. If you haven't heard the Friday Music 45 set, it's even better and I'm not a big fan of 45RPM reissues but this one shines, even clearer, looking into the performance, you would think Steve Howe is performing "The Clap" in your space, his footfalls so clear at first I thought it was a scratch. If you like Cobham, check out "Crosswinds" LP. I use the cut "Storm" a short but powerful drum solo as one of my reference recordings on a very ordinary pressing, simply explosive. Must play loud! P.S., I remember your cleaning videos from years ago and didn't know that you were still around.
Great tunes.. I Listen to Floyd & Yes every single week, BOC is great, my favourite is Secret Treaties...Then comes Mr Zappa, I just listened to Roxy again last week...side 3 nice and loud. Leland Sklar runs a great YT Channel..what a down to earth guy
That Yes album is on my list for sure, although tbh it would be hard to say if I listened to that more or Fragile. Never heard that Zappa cd that I'm aware of, will have to check it out, thanks
Really great selection!!! I own and i actually listen several of those albums. Songs for the Deaf is one of my favourites. I'm also a huge Hendrix fan. Congrats from Argentina.
Really looking forward to the arrival of my BIH vinyl! I’ve been listening to the download lately and it gives lots of Devo, Residents vibes. I think “human race” is my favorite so far
Roxy is among my most played as well. It never disappoints. Also Jethro Tull Benefit, TYA Cricklewood Green, James Gang Yer Album, Tosh's Legalize It, The Harder They Come Soundtrack, Supertramp's Brother Where You Bound, Dire Straights debut, Pretenders debut, Santana Moonflower, Workingman's Dead, This Is the Moody Blues, Live Rust, What's Going On, Trick of the Tail, .....
The German version of Smash Hits was where I first heard 51st Anniversary. I was stationed in England and Had heard Are You Experienced, Axis As Bold As Love, and Electric Ladyland. The German Smash Hits contains single A Sides as well as a few B sides too boot. Returning to the US, I was relegated to the US version of Smash Hits and I went on a search to find 51st Anniversary. I finally found it on a CD reissue of Are You Experienced? Boy Did That Make My Day. I have the vinyl issue of Roxy and Elsewhere, but I play the Barking Pumpkin CD reissue of it almost endlessly.
My list: Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon Supertramp - Crime of the century Dire Straits - eponymus Steely Dan - Can´t buy a thrill The Smiths - The Queen is dead The Waterboys - This is the Sea Pavlov´s Dog - Pampered Menial Smashing Pumpkins - Adore Jethro Tull - Songs from the Wood Television - Marquee Moon Neutral Milk Hotel - In the aeroplane over the sea Pixies - Doolittle Sufjan Stevens - Illinois Pink Floyd - The Wall Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
That Yes has shifted to my favorite/most played album too. Too few (if any) ever show BOC. Great album, and band! Have you heard Buck Dharma's 'Flat Out'? I hated that Devo freebie cassette from the RCA Music Club so bad I recorded over it, now I regret it. Love their videos. Are you a Spark's or Residents fan? Zappa has grown on me after seeing '200 Motels'. I prefer his complex proggy excursions of virtuosic genius with his band mates.
I love Sparks, I need to do a video of their catalogue, and I reviewed their most recent LP on my channel. Thanks for the tip on Buck Dharma. Also, check out my Residents collection video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MqgA3XQXByI.html
@@BillsBoxOfSound Wonderful, sure seemed logical. Dharma was a curiosity grab, and though perhaps not BOC par level, still fun. I thought their earlier studio sound needed more expansive sound to liven their deserving songs' impact as heard later. Thanks Bill, and congrats on your new album, I'll check all three out!
My Mom-in-Law saw Zappa on that Roxy/elsewhere tour, & was one of the gals who tried to dance with their freaky noodling onstage. My partner always said that she'd danced with Zappa & I was always like, "Coooool" but a couple years later when I realized that she was dancing during *that* section it was a major 😳🤯🤩🤩🤩 moment. She saw Iggy Pop roll around in peanut butter, too. Cool lady, that Mom-in-Law.
Holy Shit...A SOUND GIZMO!! haven't seen one of these, other than mine, can be heard being played by Cris Kirkwood of the Meat Puppets on Victory Acres Joke Flower lp.
Queens of the Stone Age is one of my favorites. Deaf is decent, but dont limit yourself to it! Rated R and Era Vulgaris are my personal favorites. IMO Era is their best work for a number of reasons. But i love all their stuff. Kyuss is one of my favs too. Desert rock just rules in general.
I really like XTC. Haven’t listened to them in awhile. The Yes album rules. I like Tormato too. I know that’s an unpopular opinion…but I don’t care. Coltrane!! I saw BOC live and they rock!
Wow! European Smash Hits was my first album. Came from my cousin Mike who was stationed there. My aunt gave it to me for my first straight A report card in first grade and continued that tradition through out grade school to seed my record collection.
Liked your lis ~t. I have E.C's Get Happy!, XTC's Nonsuch and Oranges and Lemons. Kinks Arthur, Flash and Pan 2nd record. Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous, Style Council Internationalists, Beatles, White Album, Wishbone Ash Theres The Rub Steely Dan Gaucho

Spirit blackfield the bears lilac time victoria Williams Roger Whittaker. Al de miola. Roy Harper. David sylvian gracepool. Too many favorites . These artists will have to do
All the early yes albums are all very very solid choices and then I saw the Coltrane and I said oh he's just trying to be cool lol. Then we see tyranny and mutation and I say this guy is cool very cool and then spectrum omg two of my favorites here. I didn't know there was a Kevin Gray remaster of spectrum I have a Japanese original but the Kevin Gray is now at the top of the list. going to eBay right now have a great day.
Thanks for watching, Ron! I like how you show a lot of obscure 70's and 80's psych and prog LPs that have a lot more musicianship going on under the surface(Example: "Ben", Vertigo, 1971). But of course you remember to respect the basic repertoire. Stay cool yourself! LOL😄😎
@@BillsBoxOfSound wondering about that Billy Cobham record is the catalog number RCV17268 looks like it's been reissued on clear vinyl by rhino 75th anniversary series just did a video of rare records part 1 have two more parts coming up in the next week or so and a couple of shootouts
@@RocknRonni Yep, RCV1 7268, Bar code 603497838202. Cut by Kevin Gray, Pressed at Optimal, and they used an analog master as far as I can tell. I tell ya, when I bought that Music On nVinyl version and they cut off the spoken intro of Quadrant 4, I knew they weren't using the original master. The Friday music version is not much better. The Rhino one is the one to get.
@@BillsBoxOfSound thanks bro yeah I saw the Friday music reissue was mastered by Joe roganoso so that's not so good then MOV reissued it but you know they do digital stuff and then I saw this one the Friday music European pressed one on clear vinyl and it is the Kevin great cut just wondered if they had ever issued that in the United States and was pressed at RTI because if they did I missed it thanks for your help bro.
I'm an old fart so here are my picks. David Bowie. Hunky Dory. Elton John. Caribou. Yes Fragile. T.Rex. The Slider. Sparks. Indiscreet. Edgar winter group. They only come out at night. Mr Big. Photographic Smile Blue Oyster Cult Agents of fortune Gentle Giant. Free Hand. Henry Gross. Plug me into something. With regards to Some Girls/ Rolling Stones and Xtc./White Music or King Crimson Red
Since virtually every single participant in this exercise claims that the records they listen to most are NOT their FAVORITES, please explain this phenomenon...seems illogical and disingenuous.
