Please, Detective Conan is something the kids can watch if they already watch shows like: Criminal Minds, Castle, Sherlock, Hawaii Five 0, Law and Order, CSI (and many others that I can't name). It really depends on whether the kid feels comfortable watching it or not.
Satoshi Houston In Japan and at least my country. Detective Conan is a cult classic. I remember I used to watch it as a kid. Don't care too much about the crime I just like how Conan tends to solve the case with some awesome strategy.
I _loved_ this show as a kid, and I still do to this day. Sure, it was somewhat disturbing sometimes, but that never really bothered me. Big fan of Castle and Hawaii Five 0 btw.
1. 0:06 Detroit Metal City 2. 1:41 Detective Conan 3. 2:20 Attack On Titan 4. 3:03 Freezing 5. 3:43 La Blue Girl 6. You wrote "PERFECT BLUE" in the description but never said anything about it in the video... 7. 4:31 Berserk 8. 5:19 Genocyber 9. 6:12 Monster 10. 7:02 Blood-C
Detective Conan is definitely child friendly...as long as people are fine with blood, there is a few that I did find a bit disturbing but it's generally child friendly with some minor dark themes.
Detective Conan was and still is one of my favourite anime. As a child, I only have good memories about it! I never got scarred from any scene or dialogue.
As long as we have actual ratings on which anime shows should be allowed for our kids to watch and which ones shouldn't, then we'll have nothing to worry about. But what we shoukd be more concerned about is how we raise our kids right. Not keep them sheltered their entire lives.
what about "pretty" things such as hellsing, elfen lied, parasite, when they cry series, future diary, tokyo ghoul, high school dxd, terra formars and many other pieces of perverted art? There's a lot of anime that should not be seen by children. and even more manga.
My list -OniAi -Btooom -Baccano -Terra Formars -Qwaser no Stigma -Psycho Pass -Black Lagoon -Kiss X Sis -Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom -Gantz -Made in Abyss -Madoka Magica -Corpse Party -NaruTaru
Recently I watched the 2D berserk thinking it was a prequel to the 3D one, but after watching it I just couldn't adapt to the mess that is the 3D Berserk.
It is outright a hentai. It is not just an ecchi anime like it seemed to be described here. Most likely, the erotic anime part was just something that they pulled from its wikipedia article.
You should define "kids" Some have a Shounen tags, which is aimed at Teen boys (so not kids) also those with the ecchi tag aren't aimed as kids as well for example: None of these have a "kids" tag x: so I need some definition there XD'
I would add Made in Abyss to that. The character design is super cute, but the transformation, tortured existence and eventual fate of one of the characters is...disturbing. And also Higurashi no Naku Koro ni--kind of like Ground Hog Day, but with kids in the lead roles...and everyone ending up in bloody pieces at the end of the day.
WHAT!? Ten Anime Shows That Kids Should NEVER Watch?! You got to be kidding!? The violence is OK, except for La Blue Girl whose sexual escapade is a "no-no" situation. The thing you want children to avoid are the anime with sexual features like the hentai.
NEVER watch Digimon. I did once, and never recovered since. It's not bad for a kid's anime, but I was nearly murdered by a bunch of die hard Pokemon fans.
@@John_Wick69 I did. And I WILL Terra Force you. Also, just because I was nearly killed by die hard Pokemon fans doesn't mean I'm not a Pokemon fan myself. You can be both, you know. I think all anime should live in harmony. I mean, I like both equally.
He said “Improved production value” “Allow the artist to render the art style” “Praised by critics and good reviews” and etc.. on Bersek 2016/2017. It’s Obvious SR made poor research.
Anyone else was 8 and they watched one of these? I was 8, and my first anime was attack on titan, as a mystery lover myslelf, i loved the anime Waiting 4 years for season 2 was hell bro
Where the hell is Oreimo, that show shatters the hearts of everyone. That guy literally turn down every girl that confessed to him & chose to date his sister for 1 month
Edogawa does **NOT** come from Edgar Allen Poe (at least not directly). It's from the pen name of Taro Hirai, Edogawa Rampo. Even the use of the Detective Boys is a reference to his work.
No Elfen Lied, no Rin: Daughters of Mnymosyne, no Psycho Pass, hell even Made in Abyss would rather be included on a semi decent list instead of Conan. At least we are free to enjoy Berserk 2016, it's not like that show has any negative points to it whatsoever.
tayloraustin1997 I agree with you on Elfen Lied. I think it has its biggest impact on teenagers too. Future Diary has an unusually disturbing and surreal rape subplot. I haven’t seen Blue Gender.
@@TheDestineyAngel Blue gender is definitely worth the time if you are a fan of the psychological genre. It's not a masterpiece by any stretch, but the shifting dynamics between the two protagonists is something pretty unique.
@@mychaeldark1007 There are some pretty dark themes and violence in there, but I'd agree. I mean, I saw it on toonami as a kid originally lol. The heavier psychological Anime are the ones I'd really not want impressionable kids to see tbh. Elfen Lied would be up there. Also something like Lain. Depression, isolation, disturbing imagery, and suicide from the perspective of a kid kind of thing. I get the kiddy grade (underrated show) comparison. King of Thorn reminded me of blue gender as well.
Screen Rant all the kids in your audience will definitely try to watch these shows now. You dont realize how rebellious todays generation is XD Also, I make creepy vids on true stories if it interests anyone here, ciao ;)
magmotox 25 realised that when he said «Eren and his sister» he should watch the anime before making lists like these, because he’s getting a LOT of hate in the commentsection
Edgar Allan Poe? Do your research. Conan's name is a mash up of Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Rampo, both mystery author names. And La Blue Girl? A hentai? That's just cheating to throw that on the list.
The first anime I've ever watch was when I was a child. Probably when I was about 7. It was like half an episode of AOT. I loved it very much and wasn't very terrified.
The best kid friendly animes I know are Boku no pico, Shounen Maid Kuuro-kun, Natsuyasumi, Otonoko delivery, Oni Chichi, Toshi Denetsu series, and Zton Jingai Animation: A beautiful greed nulu nulu.
1. Detective Conan: Why is it even on this list. Apart from some blood and minor dark undertones (most of which kids are already exposed to thanks to modern crime dramas), it's fine for kids. 2. Freezing: Can't help but notice you didn't mention the rampant sexual abuse. 3. La Blue Girl: It's hentai. It is straight up hentai. 4. Berserk: Did you just praise the animation for the 2016-17 series? 5. Detroit Metal City: I question it's place on this list mostly because... well... it does have things inappropriate for kids but... it's a comedy! It's meant to be over the top and ridiculous. It's style wouldn't even be appealing to most kids. 6. Where's Hellsing Ultimate? One of the Devilman series? Tokyo Ghoul? Future Diary? Another? Parasite? High School DxD and the plethora of other sexually explicit series (especially if you're gonna put a hentai on this list)? Evangelion? Elfen Lied? Danganronpa? The '97 Berserk series!? That is all.
You're thinking of two different things. Edogawa Ranpo was the pen-name of a real-life writer who specialized in horror and grotesque. Edogawa Konan is the hero of "Detective Konan", tipping his hat to both Rampo and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, because he's a detective, you know...
I watched Conan as a little kid, I loved how unlike other murder mystery shows it had the balls to show dead bodies with their eyes open and with a screaming look on their face. I also really liked the clever ways people got killed, like being bludgeoned with the weight on a fishing pole cast from the roof of an adjacent building.
I don't think any of you at SR have actually seen Detective Conan. You referred to Jimmy Kudo as Conan Edogawa, which is the name Jimmy goes by after he gets poisoned and turned back to his eight year old self (without even mentioning the poisoning). That's an important detail to the main story.
For a show that looks like a harmless kid show but shouldn't be watched by kids - Madoka Magica. How did that not make it on the list? That's most definitely top 10 material.
If he was trying to cover every anime that isn't appropriate for younger audiences his video would be a couple of days in length. He was focusing more towards distinct examples of various genres.
I though Castlevania would be on here; a horrifically violent anime based off of a popular game series that originated on the NES(correct me if I'm wrong).
Attack on Titan is not SO bad. It may not be for toddlers (creepy, violence) , but if you can ignore the main character saying "I'll kill 'em all!!!" every episode I highly recommend it. I don't watch the others so I don't know if they're good or not (probably not)
"10 Anime Shows That Kids Should NEVER Watch" Did you mean: literally 99.99% of them because Japan makes much more adult animation than children's animation?
It is a serious art form. And in the West, ALL animation is like Teletubbies. Superjail is for kids. South Park is for kids. Futurama is for kids. Family Guy is for kids.
@@s71402san actually last 4 the shows you have mentioned are 16+/R rated but having the kid art style but family guy had some serious art too (very rarely)!!!
Thing is, there are cartoons that are marketed at kids that were created in western countries as well. Watership down is a case in point - it was marketed in the UK back in the 80s as universal - suitable for all ages. It is extremely violent and has a lot of disturbing imagery. I watched it when I was 5.
I immediately went to the comment section after seeing the first anime. Maybe list animes that are both popular and/or at first seem to appeal to kids but don’t. Great examples that I’m referring to: Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Kill La Kill, High School DXD, Elfen Lied, Parasyte, Deadman Wonderland, Higurashi When They Cry, Highschool of the Dead, School Days, Mirai Nikki, and Tokyo Ghoul. I’ve now already succeeded in making a better list.
Amal Abuhadba i started watching it this january (because my country has too little anime, we have pokemon tho) and i love it. Im about half way through the series now😻😊
@@monke_gaming125 i mean that they dont send much anime on tv. The only anime i can remember from the time before i started watching it, is pokemon and bakugan or bayblade? Its gotten more popular in the last 5 or so years, more than when i started watching it 7 years ago. Now people know or have heard of it at least. They dont send other than pokemon on tv, but a lot has gotten on Netflix tho.
We talk about Freezing, but mention nothing about the fact that our leading lady is a rape victim with a crippling fear of being touched by people as a result, and yet is constantly put in overly sexualized and compromising positions? Also children shouldn't watch this series because it's awful.
Freezing is the best :D. Satella and Rana are amazing. Really wished they continued the anime. Though at least manga really good, except I'm up to date ad seems at its last arc :(.
I did actually find Freezing to be more interesting than I expected I would, though the second season was a bit weaker. They setup s fairly interesting world
