I love Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver. I own Encre Noire Sport and it took awhile for me to get into it but it's definitely grown on me now. I tried Nishane Sultan Vetiver and it's pretty good. Heeley's Vetiver Veritas is great, too. Colonia Club from Acqua Di Parma has vetiver in the base and it's pretty good, too. I love Nuit De Megeve from Eight and Bob. Very masculine and very earthy. Great list. Most of them I've never even smelled.
I own and enjoy certain vetiver-prominent fragrances, e.g. Costume National "Homme Parfum", Lalique's "Encre Noire", "Terre d'Hermes Parfum", and Guerlain's "Homme L'Eau Boisee".
The designer Thom Browne's whole fragrance line is built around vetiver, they are quite interesting, I bought their absolute vetiver and vetiver and rose fragrances. Full bottles are quite pricey but their sample set is reasonable. A must-try for vetiver lovers in my opinion.
Thanks TPG, I bought Fat Electrician after watching your video. I found your other review of it from 2019 after this video. You did not say much about it. Nevertheless, I bought after your video.
Vetiver in Chestnut by Scents of Wood is pretty darn nice. Not quite gourmand like Fat Electrician but has some sweetness. Almost a slight double mint (spearminty) type note
Another great video Sebastian. Vetiver is my favorite note and I'm not sure I could live without the two Jovoy's and Fat Electrician. One to consider is Phaedon's Black Vetiver. Not dark, lemon, pepper and vetiver that goes barbershop as it dries down.
Sebastian, thank you so, so much for updating your vetiver list; this is one of my very favorite fragrance notes. Masque Milano's Hemingway is a vetiver lover's dream come true. I am, however, 100% in agreement with you; they need to put more than just 30ml - one ounce - of juice into these rather hefty bottles. Not good.
I LOVE VETIVER!!! I'm glad you introduced me to all of these new fragrances, I'd love to try many of them! My favorite will always be Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver and Fat Electrician, but I'm intrigued with Akron's Ink, Sel de Vetiver and Jovoy's Private Label. Must buy them soon, and thank you!
Just wanted to say appreciate the content as always - your depth of knowledge on fragrances massively surpasses the majority of creators on this platform
So my latest vetiver pick up has been les indomedables escal en Haiti. It is a very nice slightly minimalist frag that is at cologne concentration it has no citrus in it just vetiver and a small amount of pink pepper it layers rather successfully with Chanel Sycamore it was a rather successful blind buy as no one had samples to try in advance. Give it a try if you haven’t already I should mention it wears light at about a skin scent after about 10 minutes or so.
I really love Roja’s Vetiver and Elysium. Those are both have such great versions of vetiver. I dont know if you care or want to try Aaron Terence Hughes but his new one Guapo is a really really nice vetiver.
Great vid. Have you tried XX Artisan by John Varvatos? Wondering if it'd be redundant if one already owns Encre Noir Sport or Guerlain Vetiver. Perhaps you could do a vid on the JV Artisan line. Cheers!
Great job Sebastian 👏! I only knew two of these out of twenty. Always great to learn more about niche scents from my favorite note. My current favorite challenging vetiver scent is pure Ruh Khus from Kannauj India produced by M.L. Ramnarain. Simply a dark, green, 100% pure vetiver oil. Grassy, earthy, and a strong leather accord that gets a bit sweet and minty after 2 plus hours. Non linear and complex. Great 👍 for the hot weather. It's sold through Neesh perfumes India in a 6 ml. size only.
What can I say Ink smells like many different other frag from sacred wood kilian, Memoir amouage, even a Zara frag...whatever really nothing special to me
Yessss, Vetiver list again, love it great list. Off-topic, I would love a live video with Dalya and yourself where we the subscribers can ask random questions
Vetiver is one of those notes which I also sometimes really like and sometimes can't tolerate; recently I've been enjoying a sample of the new Vétiver Overdrive by L'Orchestre Parfum. It's quite a rooty, crunchy vetiver with a clarity from an aromatic anise-like note and an almost leathery cedar base.
I think the first time I was introduced to vetiver was in one of Narciso’s first or second fragrances with the note Haitian vetiver. I didn’t comment on one of your last videos about fig fragrances because I was going to mention my favorite fig fragrance, Miller Harris’ wander through the parks. I seem to only mention Miller Harris when I comment on your videos. I just love the house so much. So no surprise here, one of my very favorite fragrances is another from Miller Harris: vetiver insolent. It’s divine, and perfect for almost any weather or occasion. Love your videos and educated insight as always. 💜
From the list Fat Electrician and my No. 1 Incident Diplomatique. Vetiver is not in my top favorite notes almost there but I prefer Tobacco, Vanilla, Amber, Tuberose, Booze. I want to try Ink, Lunar Vetiver and Sultan Vetiver. Thank you Sebastian!!!
Thank you Sebastian. I'm a huge fan of vetiver frangrances and I'd like to mention 4 others great Vetiver that I love : - Vetiver Haïti of Comptoir Sud Pacifique : a very fresh, dry and mineral vetiver. - Encre Noire of Lalique : intense, dark... and so unexpensive. - Vétiver Extraordinaire of Frédéric Malle : soft, tender... but very expensive, and I found a very close perfume that is far less expensive : - MMIX (2099) in the Lorenzo Collection of the house L'Eau de Cassis : A bit stronger than Vétiver Extraordinaire, a wonderful soft, tender Vétiver.
You mentioned what a marvelous match grapefruit and vetiver are, but I am also quite fascinated by the frequency with which vetiver and geranium are married together.
I love Sir William and Cuir sacre, but my fiance doesn't like vetiver so much, so I must wear them myself. He likes though Vetiver sensuel which I gifted him recently. Thank you for the video!
Acquaint do Parma Colonia is absolutely the most amazing thing I ever smelled for like 10 minutes……lol is there a modern fragrance that is close but has some legs and silage?
Love Montale's Vetiver Patchouli. I've also been wearing a lot of Terre Eau Intense Vetiver. I need to try all of these especially that Akro and Caron. Thanks!
A new Vetiver video from my favourite perfume youtuber 😍 I recently bought my new favourite Vetiver fragrance: Vetyver from Le Galion. Pretty fresh and kind of tart opening including bergamot and coriander, then dries down to a very warm, intense vetiver note accompanied by sandalwood and musk.
I would love for you to make a video talking about categorizing fragrances in different color groups according to notes. I think that would be very fun and informative!
1. Lavish, Boadicea the Victorious 2. Sultan Vetiver, Nishane 3. Vetiver Parfum Pour Homme, Roja Parfums 4. Sycomore, Chanel 5. Oud Vert Intense, Fragrance Du Bois
@@ThePerfumeGuy you will never believe..... Big love from Israel..... I introduce you to so many....!!! P.S Was blind buying....You had a part in it. Cheers to you....and wonderful weekend Sébastien.
