I like how the borderlands gun that you put in is literally the doom shotgun. It's called the hellwalker, it shoots a pentagram, and plays a guitar riff for every shot.
4:39 It is actually possible to do that terminator thing, you just need the right shotgun. A standard lever action shotgun will not be able to do this, but there are models you can buy with a more rounded lever that make reloading it like terminator very much possible
Exactingcupid 22 I’d rather do two normal shotguns since it’ll have the fire rate of the normal and the damage of the super. Plus you can also add on the auto-shotgun and sticky grenade attachments to make it even scarier.
I feel the reason Bulletstorm is so underrated is because when it was first released, it was during a time when people were more interested in more realistic looking FPS games like CoD and Battlefield.
London Ruble she’s doing good, she got sick a few weeks ago but she’s back on her feet now, and she’s become so strong that she can hold the Unmaykr all by herself now. I’m so proud of her
Fun fact : the 1st honorable mention (speedloadn' hellwalker) is basically a reference to the doom iconic shotgun, it shoots in a pentagram, you hear a heavy metal guitar tone when you shoot, and if you equip it from the ground you'll hear a couple of heavy guitar notes
When I saw the title of this video, I thought to myself: "That massive double-barrel shotgun from Doom II has to be high on this list!" And you didn't disappoint! That thing is so freakin' awesome, and the whole reload sound is what makes it the best. "BOOM! Ka-CHUNK!" Glorious!
you do know that's why the thumbnail is doomslayer right, they are just pandering to whatever is popular at the moment so that you get to see the cool new thing that you like at #1
I gotta say though i have really learned to appreciate the combat shotgun in 2016 and eternal, i mean a shotgun and grenade launcher combo is the most versatile thing to me and the way i play fps games 👍
i honestly love the combat shotgun with the full auto mod equipped in DOOM Eternal, judt havibg a fully automatic shotgun in the game is amazing and fun to use
Yeah with both mods it makes it a gun you kinda use more often. In 2016 once you got the double you never went back but now, its a much harder decision.
Chronic Rogue Yess. Even with the heavy metal chord upon every shot its so awesome. Literally makes me feel like I'm playing DOOM in BL3 whenever I use that gun. Definitely one of my favorites!
Ya boy Jake I read somewhere that it’s got a chance to drop on the traunt fight on Athenas. That was a while ago though so I assume it’s still the same? But I’m not really sure
I think my favorite shotgun has to be the Doomstick from killing floor 2. It's a quadbarrel shotgun, and its as OP as it sounds. Its alt fire lets you shoot all 4 shells at once.
4-barreled guns existed, as it was the simplest solution to loading more rounds into a single-shot weapon. This idea eventually evolved into the revolver, where you have one barrel and multiple chambers, but when shotguns diverged into their own classification of firearm they kept the traditional multi-barreled style.
@@haarissultan4488 when gameranx ran out of ideas: i know let's do just a top ten shotguns Everyone else when there out of ideas: let's copy someone else!
I'm disappointed that the Hydra from Resident Evil 5 isn't in here. What could be cooler than a triple barreled sawn-off shotgun with a laser sight ductaped to the underside? Nothing is more effective at turning Zombies into red mist.
I’m glad that super shotgun was #1. That was my all time favorite and my go to weapon on Doom 2. But, call me weird, I also liked the 4 horsemen from Destiny. They are bringing it back for Destiny 2.
@@Goochbag8 Yes but that was a Winchester Model 1882 RIFLE that also had a outward bent lever in a fat oval shape., it is reloaded differently, but it is the same brand so it is kinda similar, but no, ones a shotgun, the others a rifle.
Honorable honorable mentions: the boomstick/doomstick from killing floor 2, 4th horseman from Destiny 1 (soon in d2), any quad barrel shotty from borderlands 2
@@vuccorbilla7802 thankfully they've got the talos principle to show a wider audience that croteam has some amazing skill but i do wish more people knew about serious sam
It's pretty hilarious that the first honorable mention, the Hellwalker, is a tribute to the super shotgun from Doom. It even plays bits from the BFG Division when you fire it.
Another honorable mention: Conference call from borderlands 2 the things still a monster way past it’s hay day and nerfs so yeah Give the conference call the respect it deserves or it’ll blow your head off 5 ways to Friday
Givi Chkonia I think when you do this it’s literally impossible to miss, because it’s almost guaranteed that something will get hit. Or at least that’s what it was like with my build.
Ok I think the Force-a-Nature from TF2 should definitely be on this list. It’s so satisfying since if you’re right in there face it can send them across the map and the recoil sends the tiny scout back too. That’s the one that I definitely think should be on the next list but also a bit less so are shotguns from Nuclear Throne. They’re super fun to play with especially if you get mutations to combo with them.
Miss Moxxi's Heart Breaker from Borderlands 2, a fast firing shotgun that gets more accurate as you fire, with a big magazine, fast reload, incendiary ammo and heals you for a percentage of damage dealt.
Dragon’s Breath. I was almost disappointed when I thought it wasn’t gonna be mentioned. I love it. Could easily have been my number one. But then again I haven’t experienced some the other ones in this list. And it’s just that mission.
@@adonizi Yeah your right, the gun was just an ordinary spas-12 but with the ammo it was fucking INSANE and lotta fun, its a shame they didn't include it futher into the game.
Dragons breath rounds are actually real, If you want you can get a cheap break action from Walmart and order some of those delicous shells online and find a place to have some FUN.
I just realized that the dragon's breath is a low power round and it shouldn't be able to cycle the bolt completely. The spaz 12 should be using the pump-action mode to fire correctly. It was fun to play with tho.
@@daniel5913 u can do that at higher difficulty settings where ammo is more valuable, but normal or hard is almost no point to do it since eli will look for ammo for you all the time
Another thing about Payday 2 shotguns is how the damage works. Most other games, the damage is low per pellet but stacks up. In Payday 2, all pellets do full damage and don't stack, so having the least accurate shotgun is almost always best to maximize damage per shot.
The trench gun from world at war has always been my favorite shotgun to use, if I was on a mission where a sniper would’ve helped but I found a trench gun? It’s trench gun every time.
To be honest your guys’ titles usually make me go “eh another basic list video” but every time I watch them I realise “shieeet these guys know their games”
Considering it isn't the most well known game I was worried the F.E.A.R shotgun wouldn't be there, but it definitely deserves a spot, doom super shotgun in basically every game definitely deserves #1 though
Off top without watching the video, I need to see the Super Shotgun from DOOM 2016 and Lord of Wolves from Destiny (& Destiny 2) EDIT: Lord of Wolves got snubbed, that thing was/is an absolute terror of the Crucible in both games and is not only a shotgun/flamethrower hybrid but is also an enemy weapon you get to use/repurpose which is always dope in any game that does that. It absolutely deletes people.
Destiny, "The 4th Horseman". It ma6 have been patched, but when I played I believe crits had a chance of returning a round to the chamber, and the RoF of this weapon was insane. If you got into the face of a strike boss and unloaded, you could melt them insanely fast. Faster even with some friendly buffs.
@@mrcthulhu47themad45 I haven't played in years but I would barrel stuff + Jump, I believe I had some legs that increased damage while airborne. Telling ya, I'd kamikaze jumping barrel stuff with this gun and just chunk bosses. Memory can be a fickle thing though.
The gnasher in gow2. The active reload! And god forbid you were host. I feel like nobody remembers almost every online match no matter game mode ended in a shotty duel. Its what seperated the men from the boys.
One of my favorites is the Shotgun from Painkiller, it's the first gun that you get, but it is satisfying as hell!! That thing doesn't cause only a bloodshed, it causes the depression of its user to disappear...
It is really satisfying, Ioved it - it is almost automatic, no reload and it had a frost as a secondary which was really helpful against stronger enemies.
This might be a deep dive, but the shotgun from Area 51, developed by Midway Studios and released in 2005. I remember playing and enjoying this solid FPS game and loved firing this game's shotgun. It had good punch, good damage, decent ammo capacity...and at times, you could dual-wield the thing and just blast any alien that dared to get close to you. If you haven't played it or seen it, check it out. I think you'll be surprised!
@@roohni2226 I don't think thats it, I could be wrong thou, its a legendary that was added in forsaken(lol, its funny how I can remember the expansion it was added in but not the name of the gun)
Payday 2 judge modified for stealth. Best part is launching a guard into an area where no one will find the body and thus saving you a body bag. Worst part is launching him into the ocean and not being able to get the pager, but still super satisfying
Personal Honorable Mention: Evil Within's Shotgun. It's the second gun you get early on in the game and it's perfect because you get it upon entering a monster infested village. It's not much at first, but after upgrading it a lot, it packs a real punch, reducing enemies to red chunks with a single shot. There's also the double barrel shotgun, even better, but it comes with the fighting chance DLC. I actually forgot if you can upgrade the double barrel shotgun, or if it upgrades along with the normal one.
@@Marbs776 6? I only accounted for 4, 2 without pap. The Blundergat, base weapon The Acid gat, upgraded Blundergat The Minesweeper (or something like that) pap'd Blundergat Vitriolic Withering, pap'd acidgat
The AA12 from Killing floor is pretty great. Useful for mowing down a dozen or more zeds or taking down a large one like a scrake or fleshpound. From KF 2, although it's technically not a shotgun, an upgraded nailgun is also really good
Honestly, i love the Doomstick from Killing Floor. It's incredibly satisfying to unload the four shells at the same time, and mow down an army of zeds.
