10 Classic Country Songs That Improve Any Party 

While making this video, I basically realized there is a whole other genre of songs I love listening to with friends which aren't really party songs, per se, but songs you just have to scream at the top of your lungs like "My Maria" and "Strawberry Wine." Maybe that'll be another list one day. But for now, enjoy these party tunes!!

As someone who plays country music at many bars and parties...you missed maybe the 2nd most requested song I ever get, behind Friends in Low places, which is David Allan Coe's "You Never Even Called me by my name."

Amos Moses is an absolute must for me. Gets me upbeat and happy every time.

Down at the Twist and Shout by Mary Chapin Carpenter has an energy and a fervor that can't be denied, The fiddle in it is perfection.

Hot take: Ain’t going down (till the sun comes up) is a better party song than friends in low places

Jo Dee Messina is such an underrated queen

This video got me in a good mood! I’d personally replace “Man I Feel Like a Woman” with “Any Man of Mine” for Shania and include either “I Like It, I Love It” or “Something Like That” from Tim McGraw. And it might not be a party song necessarily, but “Why Haven’t I Heard From You” by Reba is such a great singalong song!

I totally understand choosing "All My Rowdy Friends" but I think "Family Tradition" deserves a shout out too!

If you’re a guy and you say that you don’t like “Man, I Feel Like a Woman”, you’re a liar.

If you want a party song that’s kinda relevant to the times, try “Party for Two” with Shania Twain and Billy Currington. An idea for a video tho: Best Country-(insert other genre of music here) mashups. I recommend Theory of a Deadman’s “Livin My Life Like a Country Song” featuring Joe Don Rooney.

Tom Cochrane played at our local Canada Day celebration a few years ago and my kids were BLOWN AWAY when "that song from CARS" came on and thousands of people were singing along.

Everyone starts getting tired toward the end of the night, DJ puts this song on. As soon as everyone hears the opening guitar and “Blame it all on my roots...” everyone back on the dance floor, circled up and had a country sing-a-long

Maybe becos I'm north of the Ohio River, and the intro get's me every time, but "Here Comes Summer" get's me every time. IT is, or should be the absolute start off to any country party, it's the start off of every summer ever. And it continues to flow throughout the summer. One of the over looked party songs... this one gets the party started.

Great video, Grady! I was surprised and overjoyed to see Jo Dee's "I'm Alright" made your list. I sometimes think I'm the only one who loves this song. I might have added Keith Urban's "Where the Blacktop Ends" and Kenny Chesney's "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" (so stupid, but I dare you not to sing along). A little side note: I went to college with Kenny. I didn't know him, but some of my friends did. One of them said, "Back then, the girls wouldn't cross the sidewalk to spit on him."

Nice to see JoDee Messina on the list! I had been into country music in the early 90s and kind of got away from it because I associated it with a really bad, toxic relationship I had been in. I got back into country just a few years later when I met my future mother in law and she brought up JoDee. JoDee had been named after my MILs late husband, and JoDee's uncle, Joe Dunlop (Joe D)-her mom's brother. I fell in love with I'm Alright, Bye-Bye and Lesson in Leavin'. Really helped me put that relationship in the past and I got my country cassette tapes-hey I'm old!-out of storage and loved the music once again with no bad memories attached. My country music tastes haven't really stayed current with the times however lol, I still listen to mostly the classics.

"Here for a good time" by George Strait. Song always makes me wanna crack open a cold one and vibe with the boys.

Heads Carolina, Tails California is my favorite song- and has been since I was 7 years old. She is WAY under hyped.

"Two Doors Down" by Dolly is pretty great too

All my rowdy friends are comin over tonight was the song that made my dad get into Hank Jr and now he's one of his favorite singers and mine as well.

How about "Party All Night" by Jeff Foxworthy feat. Little Texas? While it's basically Jeff's stand-up comedy set to music, and Little Texas singing the chorus (they've had their share of line-dancing/party songs, including "God Blessed Texas" and "Kick a Little"), it'd get any party going, LOL! I'll also include "Baby Likes to Rock It" by The Tractors, Tim McGraw's "Something Like That"... there's too many great ones that didn't get mentioned!

For my taste, Chris Ledoux had the best version of "Life is a Highway"

Not a bad list! I play 80's and 90's country up here in the bars of NE Ohio and a bunch of those songs are in my set list. "Fishin' in the dark" Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, "Country Roads" John Denver, and "Never call me by my name" David Allen Coe are must haves as well.

90’s dance haul / honky tonk country is the stuff I grew up one. It will always be the best country ever. I love your 90’s country vids. Takes me back to being a kid, spending summer weekends with my dad and his cover band out at the fairs and carnivals.

I just realized that as a middle aged, non-white Los Angeles woman, I have never been to a party where country music was played. I have been listening to country since my mid-twenties, but none of my friends like it.

This is an excellent list and I am currently turning it into a Spotify playlist for when we're allowed to have house parties again :) The other one I'd mention is Copperhead Road - admittedly it's not really my thing but that always seemed to get people on the dance floor whenever it was played at country music club nights here (pre-COVID obviously).
