I have always done dresses over pants. It helps me use my shirt dresses, which can make me look square on their own. So I can wear them partly open and lengthen the whole silhouette.
I appreciate the fact that you not only show lots of images during your commentary but that you include beautiful images for trends and fashions that you don't love. I actually like the bubble trend and was totally inspired by the runway model in the polka dot dress 😍
Grampa style! I’ve been holding on to this old school, old man sweater I thrifted years ago that I just LOVE. I’ve worn it here and there but now I’m really about to style it with more intention 😄
Double belts…???? It’s hard enough getting to the toilet with just one😂I didn’t like the bubble hems back in the 80’s, don’t like them now. Really enjoy your videos, thanks❤
I LOVE dresses and skirts over pants/jeans!! I'm here for this one. I just love the way it looks, always have. I also love the way a beautiful scarf or shawl wrapped around the waist over jeans looks. A little bohemian, maybe, but feminine and beautiful 'in my eyes'.
The gean dress was the first to catch my eye. Loved how you paired it with a shirt under. Made it very wearable and yet added interest and elegance to the dress. ❤❤❤
Mention of dropped waist dresses made a cold shiver run down my spine (I’m petite with a long torso and short legs, so … that’s a no-go for me), but everything else sounds good 👍🏻
Speaking about cozy and comfy I was checking out your pet companion. He’s certainly comfy. Love the white sheer top your wearing so flattering on you. Don’t much care for the “bubble” skirts or the sheer ones. Very impractical and not wearable for most of us. Thank you for keeping us updated and knowledgeable. Love tour videos🎉
Mango has just launched some elegant, minimalist pieces which include skirts over trousers. But the examples you showed were heavy and way over the top! Re: sequins and faux fur, I love them but I just wear one piece, not several at the same time, I don't want to look like a Versace customer! I always aim for casual chic and simplicity as they're timeless. Thank you lovely Leonie for all your research, I don't find most trends interesting or exciting or flattering though
Thanks for sharing and unfortunately it's super hard finding great examples when many of the trends haven't even arrived as such yet so I always struggle with that sadly :(
Yes thrifting can save a crazy amount of money ! Just bring a list and stay neutral or whatever colors dominate your wardrobe so you'll have lots of options to work with
So enjoy your videos. I'm not a trend follower but your added suggestions are PRICELESS. side note.. I was in my 20s in the 90s and fashionable, I can honestly say I never remember people wearing pants under skirts. ZZ top, she's got legs etc. yes socks with pumps yes. Pants with skirts zero recollection
I wore a white shirt dress with a black and bronze pattern on it with black flared trousers and some black ravel suede shoes with a silver slim heel to work in the early 2000s. I never got so many compliments! I think it’s a very flattering look because it elongates the body. It’s also a nice alternative in a British summer when the sun refuses to come out 😂
I’ve had leopard print since the 1980s, I always keep it. I have a leopard print scarf from the 80s. I also have some sandals that have leopard print a blouse. I think the funniest trend I saw was the no pants trend. Can you imagine? I am 68 years old, and if anybody that was my age, walked around with no pants on they send us to the mental ward.😂😂😂😂😂
The other day I wore an oversized tweed grandpa blazer that I thrifted. Unpaired it with denim jeans, Angela Scott double-monk oxfords, and I cinched my waist in with a men’s leather belt that I also thrifted. I felt good and looked so damn good. I have some of the items mentioned in this video already, but I will not be doing the bubble hem. I have a picture of me wearing a turquoise bubble skirt, on Easter back in 89. I’m good.
Love your videos (and yes, your top is fantastic!), but notwithstanding the notion that 'women should wear whatever makes them happy', some of the trends are far from suitable for a petite (5') hourglass shape. If ever you thought of doing an episode on how to adapt the latest fashions for those, I'd be eternally grateful!
No… most of these pieces would only look good on the very tall… they look good on you but most of these outfits would swamp the average body … too much fabric and unbalanced proportions…
Mob wives and pants under dresses is a big no for me. Never cared for fringe either. I am sticking with Quiet Luxury for an effortless look. Thank you for the video, I appreciate you!
"Mob wife" 😂😂😂 I've noticed a few influencers wearing their faux fur coats lately on IG and YT. This trend looks so fun but I feel like it'll be short-lived and would eventually be toned down
I am 67 years old and none of this is new or original. "Back in the Day" we wore similar or the same pieces, and the same trends. All been done before! Enjoyed your video very much.
I got a leopard pea coat in tan, a red leather leopard pants suit in pleather (so good) and I'm looking for a good faux fur, but I did get a leather and mink long leather coat. However, I didn't think I was mob wife type lol
During the holidays, I wore a sweater dress under black denim and a waist belt and I absolutely loved it. It was more form fitting than these examples but I think it’s a fun new way to wear your dresses.
Excellent video! Love your white blouse, it reminds me so much of a very similar one Princess Diana wore in the 80’s. I own a similar one that I thrifted a few years ago and I absolutely love it!
I have a vintage Holt Renfrew trench coat, made in Belgium. It is absolutely gorgeous but I no longer wear it, I’ll be listing this t on a resale sight this spring. I’m sure someone will snap it up ❤
I have been watching your Vlog and honestly I’m not so impressed on the clothes or outfit that you wore on any of this blogs that I’ve been watching but today you are the bomb. I hope you continue to get this new way of dressing on my own opinionand I truly truly support you
I love the dress over pants/jeans look but I struggle to work out which pants shape and length to wear with what dress length shape. Could you do a video on this. Love your channel. I watch you every week 😊
Great vid! your dog's so cute! it's funny how many trends there are, i recently made a vid ranking 2024 trends and included mob wife and bubble hem but it's interesting seeing the variations in our videos
I so love the wearing a pants layer under a skirt or dress. You were totally influenced by Karenbritchic's Revivo haul. Everything looks great on you. This was so cool with you actually putting together looks to represent in that category. I have actually been trying to stop walking out the door looking like I am getting ready to do yard work. The snow has melted, and we got warmer temperatures into the 40s, so I have taken this opportunity to dress purposely with some effort because I find that it actually helping with the mood. I love thrifting daddy chic theme items because they are so comfortable, and I can just throw on some loafers to finish the look. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the new year.
Pants under dresses and skirts I love. I actually have been wearing, cause in SF resort style living, i wear a lot of kaftan dresses , and some of them more sheer than others, well at least for my husband🤪 so or I wear very thin leggings , or silk pants underneath. Yes to cinched waist. Now who needs to bring bubble skirt? That looks so outdated😳🤪 some trends need to stay in the past. Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Hi Leonie, do you actually pay in full yourself for all the items you model? And/or do you keep them and wear them again and again? It would be nice if you made that clear in each video please.
It depends on each individual video. In sponsored videos where I work with a client I choose the pieces and I usually don't keep everything - often because my friends "borrow" some of my new pieces LOL :)
Hello Leonie! I just bought the black statement cardigan sweater from Urban Revivo when I saw Karen featured it on her channel also. The quality is really good. One of the best pieces in my closet.
Im glad to see the mob life or wife... and all of them are good with the right outfit like the first gray dres over pants, very elegant and stylish, even like one or two pf the bubble , no on carhart for me but do like at least one exame of each trend , just depends k gues and key for me is moderation , no super eggagerated looks for me. Thank 😊
When I was in High school some Girls wore the skirt over pants Trend exessively. So I am more than done with this weird optic since 2005. But still I have to damit: If I will See a nice Version of this, I will Change my mind.
It is quite fitted. I went for the large as I didn't want it too tight but I'm 178cm so I also wanted it for the length too. It's actually nicely shaped in at the waist too. Hope that helps.
year ago i had a sheer skirt that was more boho layered. i think i could jump on if i felt the pieces were modest. some of the sheer items are just too revealing for me. bubble skirts i will be passing on along with fringe.
Your pooch! ❤❤ love your channel been following for a couple years. # mobwife love this one 😮 extra leopard coming out of storage 😉 you really helped teach me how to shop my closet and save my hard earned 💵
The pants and tweed jacket look I can get behind as I already have those, but I am petite so the other looks would swamp me in fabric. Trends change so I’ll look forward to that😊
Love, Love, Love the dress/skirts over pants! So happy to see it will be happening. And the leopard trend very exciting. I think it’s timeless. Oh Leonie, I always get tons of inspiration from your offerings. Thank you!
I’m just now finally watching The Sopranos and can’t believe that the mob wife look is in style. My husband and I have been laughing at how ridiculous they look. 😂
Hi Leonie ☺️ just wondering if you could kindly share your size of the blazer vest. It would be so helpful for reference as I would love to purchase it. Thank you x
Yes of course! I'm wearing the size large as I find the Urban Revivo sizes tend to run a tad small. I am 5,10" for reference and usually wear an Aust size 10 or a US 8. It is a little roomy and slightly oversized on me which is what I was after. Hope that helps.
Perfect, thank you so much x the size guide will absolutely help xx I really appreciate you taking the time to respond xx looking forward to seeing your next video xx best wishes xx
Leonie: Do you know the design group in the shot with the Asian model wearing the green long shorts, knee boots, and tiny cropped jacket? I just did a screenshot of that look. You always bring the goods! Thumbs up! And I've always been one to keep fashion fun and forward. Greetings from Los Angeles
