Metallica is essentially a two piece garage punk metal band - James and Lars. That’s how all the classic 80s stuff was written and demoed. The solos and bass are added after to beef up the sound and improve it. But all their stuff works as a two piece outfit because James is such a brilliant rhythm player and he and Lars are such brilliant writers and arrangers.
I don't think so. A lot of harmonies, themes and mostly the Master of Puppets climaxes were introduced first from Cliff!! You clearly listen to his influence. Jason then wrote a lot of cool riffs, such as Kirk and Robert. Lars is mostly an a&r for the band, he's a big marketing expert and he can tell how something can be a hit or not, actually we can say that his drums parts are added to beef up the sound
1. James Hetfield 2. James Hetfield 3. James Hetfield 4. James Hetfield 5. James Hetfield 6. James Hetfield 7. James Hetfield 8. James Hetfield 9. James Hetfield 10. James Hetfield
That rhythm under the solo in Battery is so hard to hear on the original recording. I had fits with the timing back in the day before the internet came along and provided some insight. 🤣
I absolutely love videos like this. I will admit because I've heard the songs so many times you slowly hear certain things you never heard before so most of these I could pick up a riff just under the solo and it's cool to have something like that.❤️❤️🔥🔥
@@Pirustaethe 3:30 indication that i speak is in the song Freyends of Sanity, when they have around 3 minutes (from around 3:30 until the 6 minute of that song) of some of my fav Metallica Riffs.
Had this playing in the background and as I have heard pretty much all of these I didn’t really stop UNTIL the disposable heroes part, I had never heard that before and I definitely did a “hol up, what the fuck was that” at 6:42
@@Ryu_Akethe rhythm parts are usually included in the vocal tracks for some reason. So just go to a vocal track and skip to the time of the solo and it'll be there. The same goes not only for solos but for any rhythm part as well so for instance the middle section from battery is also there
Guess this is what i listen to as a more rhythm oriented guitar hobbist. So some of the details are lost in the mix but the james parts is what i listen to. Cool video
Nice list i think this is why 5 of these songs are in my top 10 MetallicA. The rhythym guitar work by james is so crazy. Combine that with a fucking kickass solo and you get why MetallicA is the best.
bro james is like my 2 inspiration to play guitar bro he is a beast!, I love metallica and your videos keep it up!, hoiler than thou is so underrated on the black album and those and justice for all songs are so good
That part in Blackened at 3:20 sounds like something from To Live is to Die; that part when it’s winding down right before James says, “When a man lies…”
@notofthisgod32 you are very deep wrong, Mustaine could colaborate in some of those tracks but the genius always where Hetfield and Burton, If Mustaine were the owner of those tracks, and then why didn't Mustaine fight this case in a court to recoger the riffs AMD songs that Mustaine say that he's the absolutely composer... mustaine fall down in his own lies and wrongs people follow his ridiculius and stupid game... Metallica always will be the Best and representative Metal band in the, regreatfully megadeth always will be in the shadows of Metallica... Sorry for you guy... Next! 👉
