"Metallica hater".... never listened to the Black Album and hates them because of the name and the way they look, therefore, without any valid, objective, and logical arguments... ridiculous. How can you be a band's "hater" if you don't even know their music?
Have you watched the channel? This is him basically talking retroactively about when he was a teenager. I hated loads of bands when I was a teenager because of the image Lots, starting with every single hair metal band in existence, on particularly Guns and Roses and, for more modern bands, Panic at the Disco and Paramore. I'm a massive Metallica fan but my fav band is Blink-182 and in case you didnt notice, he said the same thing about them In fact I still do it to this day I don't like MGK but I've never listened to a single song he's ever written😂 I bet you've never listened to it Justin Bieber album but you don't like Justin Bieber
Because he was a young punk kid like all of us were. Many people mature and realize their tastes also mature or change over time and you can learn to appreciate things you didn't used to. It's part of growing up. Also when you're older you may experience the opposite and realize stuff you thought was cool when you were growing up, sounds like garbage after you have grown up.
@@delvictor7570 Nah, I just felt the need to leave a nasty comment for some reason. Sorry about that. I quite like Ride the Lightning. Not a big fan of the s/t though. It has perfect production, but I think the songs are too long which ruins the momentum.
Dude Metallica is a different kind of metal it’s like it’s own thing they’re just so fire dude pure sophisticated bangers man. To me they're the best ever
I've never understood the hate this album got. I f'n love it. 🤘 Kudos to you for being willing to sit and listen to an album that you already had a bias against. Not many people would be willing to do that. Even if you ended up hating all of the songs on the album, your effort shows you have an open mind. 🤘
Of Wolf and Man and Through the Never are such hidden gems on this album. The God that Failed and My Friend of Misery are both great too (especially the chorus of Misery, James kills it vocally)
@@badgerstorm6141 They even said that when Metallica released Fade to Black... which is on their second album, the overall beloved Ride the Lightning... so this "sell out" argument is just one big bullshit... the band has never gave a fuck about this, they've been always just writting music they themselves wanted to hear, as they stated many times in interviews throughout the years. :)
The lyrics for Enter Sandman were originally about your baby dying in the crib …but due to how popular they knew it would be, Bob Rock highly suggested they lighten up the lyrics
...And Justice for All to me was the highlight of heavy era (the album where bass missing:) then it got more comercial, he learned how to sing better, too much cymbals in black album imho..
@@jack_74 I love Master, and I’m inclined to agree with you there, but I believe that the trajectory that the other three were already on (after Cliff) was unstoppable and Jason did good enough to fill the gap, that AJFO was their actual peak, production wise and talent wise. Having said that I wish Cliff was still around. No one touches his bass skills.
@@jamesdipinto5076 The reason AJFA works so well is the grief and anger they walked into the studio with everyday after Cliff’s death. Each song on that album is so heavy and good that there are no skips whatsoever. In my opinion, MOP still takes the cake. (Maybe my bias as Damage Inc. is my fav song)
@@jack_74For what it’s worth, Damage is my all time fave as well. Trapped under Ice has a special place in my heart too, as that was the very first song I ever heard of theirs. My friend Greg introduced me to the band by playing side B of the Ride the Lighting cassette tape he had. That’s how Trapped ended up being my first song heard, haha (first song side B).
I thought I was going insane with Wherever I May Roam lmao, the music video, for some strange reason, is missing a piece in the middle shortly before the solo which I'm pretty sure you would've loved.
I was hoping u wouldn’t do the wherever I may roam video as there is a BEAUTIFUL harmonised bridge just before the solo on the longer version of the song.
Or hear me out, he's open about his opinion and is willing to listen to music he avoided for most of his life. I bet you can't say the same about yourself in any aspect of your life.
I’d like to see u do a reaction to Metallica’s album - Hardwired to self destruct. I believe (based upon ur reactions/opinions to previous Metallica albums), that this album contains most, if not all, of the ingredients essential in catering to ur specific tastes! I’m hoping that this album provides a renewed vigour in ur quest to achieving a holistic and therapeutic appreciation of Metallica! 👍
"Big commercial releases" - ya, their bad for getting popular with kickass music. You lost me when you said their band name sucked and you didnt like their image. What a way to judge a band, you have no credit. Cool dog you have though
You're spot on about recognising track 2 - Sad But True from wrestling. The Undertaker used to come out to American Bad Ass by Kid Rock which samples Sad But True in the entrance theme!
Do you mean Metallica took it from Kid Rock or the other way around??? Cause if it's the first, they released their song 9 years after Black Album came out.
Enter Sandman isn't even the best song on this album... Don't Tread on Me, My Friend of Misery... THE GOD THAT FAILED.... I remember all the hate when this album came out. Fugit! 🤘👽
I like heavier shit too... I love Megadeth... I love Slipknot.... I love Korn... I LOVE Tool! But I still love Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin. And I love NIN so much! I didn't love all these bands and genres at the same time though and everytime I find new music to love I never hate or hate on what came before. Whatever your favorite heavy sound is, probably would suck if not for this band. MetMetallica will tell you themselves that they would suck or not even exist if it wasn't for the misfits and all the punk shit.
I could never get into Megadeth because I hate Dave Mustaine’s voice but I gotta admit the instruments are insane with Megadeth. Trivium and Five Finger Death Punch are some of my favorites especially Ascendency and Shogun from Trivium and the first 5 or 6 albums that FFDP released
You don’t know rather sandman from childhood you were never taught that? That is what it is about Metallica was somewhat political in there passions and very wrote about it do not comment on what you DO NOT KNOW
without my teenage self getting obsessed with metallica i would have never considered branching out to the music I now listen to like death, morbid angel, blood incantation, shit tons of death metal basically. Still listen to less heavy stuff like sabbath and priest though
My only ask is please don't do music videos After listening to Metallica for like, 25 yrs I've come to appreciate the music on it's own. I oftentimes see the video taking away from the wonderful production of the music
In My friends of Misery when you asked "is that an e-bow?" It might be. But James is known for using the volume knob to mimmick that sound. The Outlaw Torn is a perfect example. He even portraits it live.
This album actually does suck. If u hate them I assume it’s because of the hits from this album. Gotta do and justice for all though. My personal fave.
Lmao, I love how much you're trying to gatekeep the band by distancing yourself as much as possible from casual listeners by disliking their most popular and successful work. 🤣
7:49 that’s exactly why u hate them. Because the first song u heard was one of their worst. Enter sandman. The song the signified the death of Metallica.
