Great tutorial. I love the fact that you mentioned alternating conditioners bi-weekly; a moisturizing conditioner one week, then a protein conditioner the next week. I would like to share another treatment, you can also add in a hot oil conditioning treatment with those regimens as well.

I had did a big chop by a professional barber since July 30before my birthday and now it growing much faster than I thought because I had permanently dye my hair .
I jus did a big chop for the second time caz the first time didn't work out so good.....I really like d way ur hair came out....I'm gonna try ur tips....I hope this turn out good ..wish me luck

your hair looks so nice and soft and silky! My hair used to be like that but now it doesn't want to act right sometimes. My hair was at it's best after my first chop but I kept cutting it and I can't get it back that way now I'm not sure if I'm cleansing too often or not enough protein or what.
I actually never had an relaxer before. However I still want to do a big chop. That's only because I have heat damage. Mostly in the front tho. I'm getting tired of it and want to start over and I'm planning on doing it the end of this year. I kept asking ny mom if I could do a big chop but she said no. But only becuz she jus paid for my color and tht was $75 plus hair style which made ut $200. I think the color messed up my hair too. . But now she's letting me do a big chop. She has all ready did a big chop and she loves it:) .But anyways I love your video. I especially love your hair. Oh and by the way I'm 12 yrs old if u were wondering why my mom was paying for my hair to be done. lol
My mom said not until I'm eighteen. Most of my hair is limp and more wavy (not in a good way) and my roots are super curly and thick. It's so weird looking at the difference between the roots and everywhere else. I'm positive I want to big chop, but still I have to wait.

So I just big chopped my 9-year-old daughter’s hair today and I wanted to know everything you explained on products and things to use in the hair, now if I put all those products into her hair is that something that stays in throughout the week and at night she sleep with a sleep cap on and during showers wears a shower cap that way she’s not having to put the products in every day?
I need help i chopped my hair lower then yours and have real bad dandruff and wanted to know what products to use im all the way natural right now i just wash my hair and add pink moisture and go but my hair is still dry kind of because of dandruff
~.or you can transition, which is basically not putting anymore perms or chemicals in your hair. Then you can big chop when ever you feel comfortable.~

if you decide to transition make sure you take care of the demarcation line, i didnt lol and while i was transitioning my relaxed hair broke off my natural hair. Also if you transition your hair will be at it's weakest point because of the two different hair textures i transition for 4 months and today decided i cant take it anymore ( my hair being thick from my natural hair but thin from the relaxer) and i big chopped today 😀
~.i know this is a late reply but try sulfate free shampoo and conditioners. Kind of like Carol's daughter's products or any product that is perfect for your hair type.~
oyindamola olorunfunmi I wore a wig the first 2yrs majority of the time as a protective style to help my hair grow. If you’re uncomfortable transition for a year before you do the big chop

U could have heat damage b/c believe it or not once a month could be too often for your hair cuz everybody's hair is different and it could be too much.
It could be "scab" hair which is caused by the relaxer seeping into your scalp affecting the hair under the scalp. After a while you should see your hair is growing into your natural curl pattern. Or it could be heat damaged. Make sure before you use heat on your hair you deep condition and use a good heat protectant.
