I feel for the Yazidi people(and other religious and ethnic minorities) that lived under ISIS rule in Iraq. The scenes of the Yazidi people fleeing to the mountains carrying only their most precious possessions. The interviews from people that were tortured or raped. I wonder how safe it is for people to go back home now.

About the Samaritans. Part of their population is in the West Bank and part in Israel Proper. They do not speak Ancient Hebrew. They just use it in their religious services and liturgy. They speak either Modern Hebrew or Arabic. In the past they and the Jews had a lot of animosity toward one another but the hatchet has been buried ever since at one point a few hundred years ago the rabbis of the Jewish population convinced Islamic authorities not to ban or persecute the Samaritans since they are a people of the book that Islam recognizes. Their numbers are less than 1,000 but they are growing because now they accept newcomers into their faith again. There were only about 120 in 1900 and 250 by 1950 but today they are 840 and increasing.
