I think Slippy Toad from Star Fox 64 (or the awfully named Lylat Wars over here...) is a worthy mention. All of his *"WAUUUUUUUUUUGH"* screeches and that annoying voice, constantly screeching for your aid or crying about how he's been shot *AGAIN* by the enemy or just crying about anything ever in the game and... yeah... he's near the top of the list for me.

These videos fill me with so much joy and nostalgia. It reminds me of a time when I watched NameRedacted every day, and got genuinely exited when it would be Ben or Peter reading the lists. The Rotom dex companion ruined pokemon ultra sun and moon, that combined with unskippable cutscenes and broken z moves but rotom was bloody annoying.

Number 2 rings so true. Trying to pull off a heist in Payday 2 when all of a sudden one of your teammates decides to start executing hostages and taking on the police in a firefight is infuriating.

I only figured out how to get her out of that part where Ashley is trapped by the 3 metal pieces in the wall by spending forever back tracking and coming back out of frustration until finally throwing a grenade at her and when she did her dying animation fell to the floor out of the trap.. so when I respawnd I shot the rings and moved forward. I literally couldn't stand her yelling from in the trap while I didn't know what to do for ages that I just lashed out. Proper spot she is

Haha Dragon's Dogma, I love that game. I thought it was a bug at first, the way they talked over each other every time they did something, drowning each other out. Then when I looked it up I learned that is how they work...still love the game though.

I can kinda go along with you Ben on Daxter in the first Jak and Daxter game. Compared to the other games in the series, Daxter in the first game was just whiny. He did get better though as time went on and Jak opened his mouth more.

I'm gonna speak in defence of Ashley and argue that she's actually the best companion: she is almost always behind you and ducks when you aim if she happens to be in front, meaning it's actually pretty hard to accidentally shoot her (compared to, say, Natalya in Goldeneye), she can often be left safely in dumpsters so you can clear out areas without needing to worry about her, she also doesn't spend that much time with you comparatively as for most of the game you are on your own, she doesn't obnoxiously call your attention like Navi does, and if you're going for a round of NG+ sticking her in the armour costume makes her essentially invincible. She's really not as bad as everyone says, though the belt over the jumper IS inexcusable...

I've never understood why everyone criticizes Ashley so much. I mean, I've yet to see a "Top 10 Best Survival Horror Games" list that doesn't include RE4, but I've yet to see a "Top 10 Annoying Characters" list that doesn't include her. What does everyone EXPECT from a kid who's been kidnapped by zombies? Players who dis Ashley so much are missing the whole point, she's SUPPOSED to be annoying and is SUPPOSED to distract you, for the same reason bullets are a limited supply and hard to get, the genre is all about putting pressure on the player. Be lucky they didn't include a sanity meter for pete's sake,

WTF do you geeks have against talking companions? I'm starting to think that all of you really know only one single way of thiniking... I hate Dragon's Dogma pawns because of the relative useleness and how they never do what they should be doing to be helpfull. I've searched for that top because right now I'm being fighting a metal golem in DD: my pawns go on trying to climb it, warning me in the meantime of how useless it is. And it's not the talking I hate, it's the fact that they're not hiiting the good target. I've destroyed 6 of its icons and I can't get to reach the last one _ in the meantime none of the fucking casters would get to launch a spell on it... They win you a bit of time here and there, search and carry your loot or take the enemies attentions, but you can never make them do what you need them do and sometimes theiy will keep the fight going on so it won't cool down and let you make a save.
