If performing the full prayer sequence, Night Prayer is your ending point for the day and done before bed. Please be sure to see the previous video to address weekends and solemnities for Night Prayer and Evening Prayer!
Hello Chris, My name is Greg. I am an Alexian Brother. We are a congregation of religious men in the Chicago area under vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. We serve the poor and underprivileged in the Chicago area. I thought you would be interested in knowing that I am using your channel to learn the praying of the hours (I’m a new brother). Your videos are concise and easy to follow. Thank you for your time and service in providing this instruction. Peace and All Good
Good morning Greg! Thank you for your kind words. I am always filled with joy when I learn that my "passion project" is still helping people. Like most new ventures, the Breviary can seem very difficult in the beginning. With practice, it will become a comfortable part of the day and a regular routine. Hopefully you discovered that I put the videos into playlists! A viewer had found one video and asked about others, not realizing the video was part of a series. If you know of others that need a little guidance with the Breviary, please feel free to share/download, etc. God Bless, -c
I suggest praying the "Act of Contrition" after the brief examination of conscience. It helps deepen the resolve to do better or avoid sin the next day. The Antiphona Mariana is not a part of the Night Prayer. The Marian antiphon is the Last Prayer of the day. Honoring Mary, the Mother of God, our mother. The Liturgy of the Hours is the sanctification of the entire day to honor our Lord it ends with honoring Mary, whose Fiat set the course of salvation.
