With dental hygiene just keep in mind the stress on your body. Carpal tunnel in your hands, neck and back pain. I was a dental assistant for 6 years and no longer want to be a hygienist.

Less stressful? The schooling for hygiene is insane and hard to get into but the work is great it’s just the physical stress on the body

CDM is a great pathway to start on your nutrition field. Land a job that will compensate for the program.

I word research food microbiology, microbiology and food science majors.

If I was you I would major in something else and do nutrition as a hobby on the side. You can even minor in nutrition to learn more

Yes you will be able to get into one of these careers. A bachelor's degree in nutrition and fitness and a bachelor's degree in dietetics without pursuing becoming a dietitian are basically the same thing. You just won't take the medical nutrition therapy classes that are required for the dietetics major

There maybe state jobs that you can get where you can work under the supervision on a dietitian

No can for WIC as a nutritionist, a dietary aide at a hospital, work in school food service

@@EatRightGuy Thanks for your response. It's really a shame that people put the work in and it's not worth anything. Is AFPA Fitness a credible program? They have more than several accreditation bodies backing them, such as The National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP), American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP), National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC), International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM), International Institute of Complementary Therapists (IICT), American Holistic Health Association (AHHA), American Nutrition Association (ANA), and others. I'm just trying to start with what works right now and what I can afford. I do plan on going for at least a bachelor's in nutrition in the near future. Thanks so much for this incredible advice. It really helped me to decide on which field of nutrition to study.

Are you trying to get this certification just to learn more about nutrition or to actually assess sick patients?

@@EatRightGuy I'm still working in acute care as well as cardiac rehab which is an outpatient setting. Nutrition education plays a big part with our patient population so im hoping to use the knowledge from getting my MSCN to help better educate my patients. I learned about the CNS as a result since I have no desire to become an RDN

You just have to be careful because most states won't allow you to legally give disease specific nutrition advice unless you're a registered dietitian

@@EatRightGuy yes you are absolutely correct. I definitely want to stay within my scope of practice. Obtaining my masters in nutrition does stem from a personal interest in wanting to learn more about nutrition. I understand that CNS can't work in most hospitals (which is fine since I will always be an RN first). Do you have any thoughts about this certification? I'm realizing that this certification will be better suited for me if I want to become a health coach in the future. P.S. i watched your other video about nursing and combining a passion for nutrition. Im sorry that this question wasn't posted there

@@EatRightGuy I imagine my life purpose being able to help affect food policy/food in schools/write books about holistic health with a focus on food/fitness/write up customized food/lifestyle plans for people to live their best. It's been a struggle trying to figure out what this actually is and how to get there but being an influencer/entrepreneur gets lonely and no pay... so i'm kinda stuck trying to figure out how I can create impact. In the meantime, I am writing a health coaching course for potential clients to get started with some sort of product and see where life leads me from there. Thanks for inquiring. Kinda helps to write it out
