The best fighters have the perfect mix of confidence and anxiety. Too much of either is toxic. The anxiety drives them to train harder and the confidence gives them the ability to over come anything and win. Ngannou was way too cocky and got humbled now he's better then ever. Holly Holm had way too much anxiety when she fought Nunes that's why she froze up and got head kick KO'ed. It's all about that perfect mental mix and learning from past mistakes.
Dill said nothing weird, EVERY FIGHTER is "scared, terrified, nervous" getting into a match, But not for the reasons ppl think, scared they wont perform to there ability, fighting is there lives, When your lifes work will be determined in 15-25 mins.
Diego Sanchez "I can't believe anyone would even consider faking an injury to get out of a fight!" Also Diego Sanchez "If I say I can't see do I win the fight?"
@POOR PIRANO so how does that have anything to do with his cardio? If you watched the fight vs Werdum, he gassed out hard because of the altitude. It was before the injuries for the most part.
Terron Morris Nigerians have been killing it in the UFC lately so can’t be too mad at him. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if in a few years ALL the champions from ALL the weight classes were from Nigeria and Dagestan.
@@austinv9964 great to hear my dude, I've supported him throughout as I'm English but always disliked his over confidence, ya know? Every martial artist is a human being with the same thoughts and feelings that everyone else does... so to hear Darren open up following his decisive win over Gastelum genuinely made me like him more.
@Bruce IDW im english and i can only understand about 60% of what he says lol but if you think scousers are hard to understand go listen to the geordie accent. I live 25 mile away from newcastle (thats where the gerodie accent is from) and i find them hard to understand lol.
rogerbak Lol you still bring up stuff that happened years ago. I get the drug tests but the other stuff happened such a long time ago yet you still use it as basis to hate him lol. You spend all your energy hating someone who doesn’t even know you exist. Sad.
@@yesmcyes5604 I don't get you Jones fans who dismiss his past crimes as "hey man it's all in the past yo don't hate, durrr". If he did that shit to your mother, sister or daughter would you just let it go?
GSP said that because he had erroneously heard that Matt had said the same about his fight with BJ (ie, it was meant as a clap back). He found out it was untrue and later apologized. That part of the story always seems to be lost in the retelling.
Notmy Name point being he was upset (he thought) that Matt disrespected his performance and decided to hit him back with the same phrase, and then felt bad about it cause it wasn’t true, and yes, out of character for him. But will remain a legendary moment.
imagine being a super nice guy, and the one person you decide to publicly say something mean to ends up in a tragic life changing accident; man i feel the universe keeping me in my lane like that daily.. Hope George didnt take it too hard.
@Ian O'Leary It flowed very well. It really doesn't seem luke he had allot of pre written or picketed lines. So many people love his wit cause that trash talk is natural. If it ain't forced, it can be pretty funny. He made EVERYONE, all the fighters and media laugh at that. "Tree people died makin dis watch" Hilarious. No matter how off the rails a fighter goes, or how many losses he takes, fuck bandwagon jumping. Conor fan forever. Same with Mayhem Miller. He pulled some piece of shit moves, like with Ariel. But I'll always respect that dude
Whoa! Corey Anderson should definitely had been somewhere on this list for the way he acted after beating Johnny walker.. dude was acting TOOOOOOOTALLY DIFFERENT This Is Beyoooond Me..
@Joe Franklin Khabib is a bully, but he's not disengenious about it. He fully admits he used to be a thug and bully, he thinks he was an idiot for doing it, but he'd be the first person to say he's still got a lot of that in him.
People said the same thing about Jones when he fought Gus the first time, now when we look back without the biased commentary the fight is a lot closer than we thought. People wanna see Jon lose sooo bad it’s sad...
casual complaints I mean it was though, Jon controlled the pace of the fight and landed more efficiently for 4 of the five rounds. Reyes threw a lot, but when you watch it back his punches were missing and being blocked a lot. I get it, you don’t like Jon, but this decision really wasn’t as outrageous as people are saying it is.
@@JobeMinacum When Ariel gave him the NMF belt, he said videogames were the only thing that makes him lose his cool. Of course he's going to be unnecessarily mean while on Twitch...
Acc @Haitan Xu, has a point. If people can’t understand the difference between Chinese, HK, Singapore, etc then why should they care about Africans, South Americans and Caucasians. However, in this case they are famous people you look up to and you know a lot about them. @MMA on Point should not things like this slip as Ngannou is the only fighter from Cameroon to fight at the highest level and represent his country. So with that school of thought, they should be able to know the difference. The whole not understanding or not being able to pinpoint where someone is from when they’re from Asia, South America or Africa is a whole other debate.
Haitian Xu Haitian Xu they are not the same; there are distinct characteristics that people from different areas have. Does the average Italian look the same as the average Swede? No. Does the average Korean look the same as the average Thai? No. Does the average Nigerian look the same as the average Ethiopian? No. Yet these peoples are from the same continents as each other, yet are different. When you say nations’ people are the same you’re failing to mention the hundreds of tribes that live there, with their own unique languages, cultures and histories. You can travel through the Congo and find tall, dark skinned people then in the same country you kind find shorter, light skinned people (both native) and they are from the same area of the world 🤔. Stop generalising.
Haitian Xu also, most Singaporeans are ethnic Han like the Chinese so that’s a mute point. It’d be better to compare Malaysians and Hans, who are different to the point where Singapore was kicked out of Malaysia because Malaysians feared Singapore would dominate the country, meaning foreigners would. How about closer in geography; compare a Han to a Tibetan, you will see there is a difference in their genetic makeup.
i remember when me and my dad were watching the matt hughes fight, and gsp said im not impressed. we both stopped and looked at eachother like wait :O ! no way . definitely didnt expect him to say that
He has been fighting clean for a while. And coincidentally those fights have been giving him more trouble and he has looked every time closer to an actual loss. Thiago Santos fought him to a split decision on one leg, and it's kind of difficult to speak online about the Dom Reyes fight. To me, it's either a matter of time until he pops again (for a lifetime ban. He has popped twice already. Third time is the charm), or someone pops his cherry for real (officially Matt Hamill did, but Steve Mazzagatti gotta Steve Mazzagatti, and even Hamill himself disagrees with his "victory" over Jon)
@@branlopgar With his move up to Heavyweight it looks like he'll be fighting either Francis or Stipe for the title, both men have the ability to crack his chin (Ngannou especially) so there's a chance he will actually be beat next year. Of course Jon Jones being Jon Jones, nothing is out of the realm of possibility; the fight gets cancelled because he got busted, fails his drug test (again) and gets suspended, actually fights them and wins but pops for PEDs resulting in a No Contest... the possibilities are almost endless.
@@Dirtysanchez27 - Except that there is an entire ocean between the USA and the UK, whereas, Cameroon and Nigeria literally are right next to each other. Plus, Cameroon and Nigeria need WA-A-AY more diversity!
Tills realness is relatable and humbling. Even one of the toughest people walking on this earth feel fear. Still goes to work and does what he needs to do
I still find it insane that Phil Davis overlooked Rumble the way he did. In hindsight it looks crazier to overlook a monster like Rumble, but even back then, Rumble had fought at heavyweight and broke Arlovski's jaw.
Till really is a rare person. I know you’re suppose to show confidence and not admit it but fighters get scared. Especially ones that haven’t gotten really hit yet. When you get punched in the mouth and beaten the first or second time it’s no shame in admitting you’re scared. Winning is easy to prepare for losing isn’t and when you’ve taken L’s it kills your confidence and it’s hard to get your mind back into “I can beat anyone in my path”. Not a lot of athletes in any sport can admit that 👊🏾.
With Michael Chiesa, he lost his dad when he was doing TUF, and is very close to his mother, especially after losing his father, so if you bring up his mother at all, he’s not gunna be happy about it.
Don't think they could produce content without a script. These vids are entertaining, but it's clear they're no major fans. Just a lot of research and reading their finds. Doubt they could hold a conversation down for longer than five mi utes on any one subject relating to mma
@casual complaints he was close to 300lbs and pretty much openly admitted taking drugs to get that big, so he's slimming down and getting back into the testing pool. No real date.
As an Englishman I can't say that Liverpool are known for the following three things... Football, Thieving and the Beatles. Don't know where you got that "home to tough people" bollocks from. 😂
Conor has always been humble after the fight. I think Humble was the wrong word for that. Immediately after starching Aldo he walked over and said "we'll go again." Maybe polite. But he's always been humble after the fact.
His after fight Humbleness is fake, especially considering him mocking the people he beat on Twitter, Dustin Poirier once said that after his lost to Conor, he saw Conor outside the Arena and Conor laughed at his face mockingly......
Connor was never humble, even against cowboy and Dustin where he was “respectful” I couldn’t help shake the feeling that it was a heap of bullshit. He’s just putting on a persona cause no one likes how he acts and he wants to look like he’s changed
