I can say this much. Know your hair. Make sure IT’s clean before you straighten it use a good heat protectant. Know your hairs max temperature it can handle. For me it’s 220c any higher and it’s immediate heat damage. I’ve probably strained my hair once a month for the past year with no damage.

every single point is true for me! i've been wearing at home silk presses since 2020 and my hair is in better health then ever. longer, shinier, happier, and it looks how I want it to everyday!

Silk press season eyyyyy lets go 😂 i have heat trained for 16 years now and i love it. If i wear my hair natural i just do wash and gos or twist outs and they actually WORK now. My only issue is im really lazy so i dont twist my own hair (probably should learn to do that) but these days there are so many natural hair salons, you can easily find someone to do a twist out.

I just started my heat training journey last month. I like that I can see my split ends better when my hair is flat ironed. Soon as I see damage I cut it out.

I've been doing 3 silkpresses a year for my trims but I consider myself heat-trained bc I use a curling wand to set my curls after blowdrying. I think this is the best world bc my wand curls last about 2-3 weeks & I don't manipulate as much. I probably could do 20 silk presses but I have fine 3c/4a hair that grows out elongated so I don't think I want my curls looser than that so I've been doing wand curls. I use K-18 & epres as well as making sure my leave-in, blow-dry cream, & serum all have heat protectant (I call this the triple protect) to keep my hair healthy & it works!

I’ve decided to become a straight hair natural. Sometimes the natural hair community makes it seem wrong to wear your hair straight. For me it’s about functionality and being happy with what I have. I know I don’t want to relax again, so this will make a great alternative.

This is a great video and this is what I did to my hair and I’m now doing again. My hair does not grow when I wear wash and goes my hair gets those fairy knots that you talked about constantly and it is constantly breaking especially in the middle where my hair is the thickest when I wear my hair heat trained I see my stylist every 3 to 4 weeks. I get a good shampoo and condition I get a deep condition if needed, I get it blow dried trimmed for sure I trimmed every chance I get to keep it healthy flat iron and I wear it like that for about 3 to 4 weeks week one I may wear it out week two I may wear it out and or ponytail by week three is probably in a ponytail by week four I put two big corn rolls going to the back and I pin the edges up on each opposite side to protect the end I keep my hair oiled and wrap at night go back and see the stylist and do it all over again this routine help me to keep my hair healthy and it was growing like crazy. I love your videos.❤❤❤❤

I do know for a fact my hair tends to grow a lot faster when it’s straightened opposed to being in its natural state. My ends get and stays very dry. When it it’s straightened I do retain more length. I’m in the process of heat training my hair so what this video she is saying is on point . Especially regarding your natural sebum. It tends to distribute down the hair shaft easily which does provide protection down the strands. Opposed to it being in its natural state which has to travel over the bends of natural hair. I have fine 3c 4a high density high porosity hair. And I’m old school which means I don’t do silk presses , I am doing a a straight press. I only use a pressing oil on my hair and not my scalp. I use to oil my scalp all the time but recently stopped thanks to Cyn doll. Because my scalp was always so sore until she put in the know because my scalp was inflamed hence the sore scalp. I actually stopped using oil on my scalp for about three weeks and what do you know no more soreness whatsoever.

Hello 👋🏾 thank you for your content!! I’m looking for guidance. I would consider myself a “straight natural” but I’m having a hard time getting a good regimen for bright a straight natural and a gym girl!! Any recommendations for those of us who workout regularly but also prefer a straight natural style. Thank you 😊

Why do most hairstylists say heat train is damaging your hair because your loosing your curl pattern

If I had to choose between a paddle brush and a vented detangle brush for blow drying, which would be the better option for textured or 4c hair? Also how did you get those beautiful waves?

We tightly coiled naturals end up losing a lot of length when we do get a silk press due to the uneven growth and knots. What heat temp do you use for touchups in between the full press? Begs the question; what temp do you use for the full silk press? Where's your routine video? Thank you in advance.

I was wondering is heat training good for transitioning from relaxed hair. Because it seems like my four inches of new growth almost looks like my relaxed part of my hair, because it is heat trained. I surprisingly have no breakage. (Oh and the relaxer I had used is syntonics in mild strength)

Hey! I want to start blowing out my hair and doing twist/braid outs on stretched hair. Would this still be considered heat training even though I don't plan to straighten it yet? After 6yrs natural I'm bored with it and it's getting harder to manage.

I want to what regimen is best to grow your hair as a straight natural
@shelltalkshair
@shelltalkshair 8 месяцев назад
that would be pretty simple. You can just straighten your hair once or twice a month. Include treatments and trims. The con is staying stuck at a certain length. I do have a video on the best routine for natural hair you can watch. Here's the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bFSEKERFOdw.htmlsi=zkcboMyKxJbeZVDQ

Hey has anyone used the Dyson airstrait? It makes my ends look pretty fluffy, and I’m not sure if it’s more damaging than the regular Dyson dryer. The regular dryer gets my blowout done in 9 minutes!! But then I feel scared of going in with a flat iron. Looks a million times better though..

If you use bond builders will it reverse the heat trained hair? Or should I stay away from bond builders?

Hey Shell! Quick question, I love love love getting silk presses and I would love to get them every 2 weeks. I have fine, thick tight curls. I’ve heard that fine hair is more prone to damage. Can I still get silk presses this often?
@leah38521

Maybe at first go every 4 weeks and see how your hair handles it. If you can it would be great if you can find a black hair salon where the hair dressers are qualified and really KNOW hair
