So many things... Loving the retrowave on the monitors behind you. Youre absolutely right that everyone is so nice! Its got me reading again for fun. Also, my pc is getting dated so many a tech tour of that "extremely affordable, totally not too expensive, budget build" (i gotchu) PC!

100% agree with every one of your points. I started recently also, made a channel literally a few days after I found out Booktube was even a thing, and as I slowly see more and more of the relationships that the community has formed, it's amazing how positive it all is. You always feel welcome, and its a feedback loop that feels like a rising tide lifting all boats. Once you survive your husband's wrath, I hope to see more great videos from you in the future!

You know when I started my channel, I had seen people like Phillip Chase and Mike doing Booktuber collab shows and I was like, that's cool I'm sure eventually I will get my channel to the point where I am chatting with other channels - but this Booktube community is so open and so welcoming that I have been making friends right from the start. Also I promise not to tell your husband about the camera if you promise not to tell my wife about the microphone I bought...

Inspiring vid! It’s taken a lot of extra work and energy to even start up my low-rent channel, but I’m so glad I did since it’s been worth it for all the reasons you so eloquently discussed here. Regarding the "Matt" thing. I honestly think the answer is that we are all of a similar age, and that name was SUPERRRRRR popular if you were born on certain years. We basically have very unoriginal parents!
