India will NOT be the next China. While India certainly has potential, the reality is that China's manufacturing sector is too dominate and too advanced for anyone to catch up to it. In today's video I present 10 reasons why India will not be the next China.

UN REPORT- no more ball to play for India! JUST LOOK AT REPORT on INDIA. Check timing and who initiated it. That is who you should do your bitching with? NOT CANADA but ? Fernand de Varennes, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues, has termed the status of the “deteriorating” rights situation in India as “massive, systematic and dangerous”. In his opening remarks at a hearing on policy options for advancing religious freedom in India, organised by the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) in Washington DC on September 20, 2023, De Varennes said that “India risks becoming one of the world’s main generators of instability, atrocities and violence, because of the massive scale and gravity of the violations and abuses targeting mainly religious and other minorities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs and others. It is not just individual or local, it is systematic and a reflection of religious nationalism..... He spoke of how “in the last decade, issued numerous communications and press releases, communications being way allegations of human rights violations raised through diplomatic channels to the concerned governments. They show a steady and alarming erosion of fundamental rights, particularly for religious and other minorities from the review of communications from 2011 to now: By 2022, almost all of them involve grave allegations of denial of fundamental rights, particularly targeting religious minorities. From 12 May 2020 to 23 May 2023, around 46 communications and an estimated 20 press releases

The only way for india to get better is when a majority of indians face this fact, admit it to themselves and protest to the government to make things better. Those that are emotional and reject the truth are the ones hurting india most by being complacent and accept india in it's current state. These people will say nothing to the government about the horrible conditions and the government does nothing to make things better.

No, China foreign trade falling 20 % and India rising to record level? Over 110 multinationals opening in India? Now Tesla planning manufacturing in India? Korea planning huge investments in Dholera? The development model of underdeveloped countries should first focus on centralized economic construction and rapid development, then wait for the development speed to slow down, and then eliminate the interest groups and high corruption formed by the previous rapid development through democratic means, and narrow the wealth gap. Then, in the next stage of economic transformation, a consumption stable economic model should be adopted

As a Chinese person, I also greatly admire one aspect of the Indian people, which is their exceptional unity and mutual support when living abroad. However, Chinese people often seem to engage in internal conflicts and lack unity. A renowned Chinese writer once satirized that whenever three Chinese people are together, they can split into two factions. I am starting to understand the benefits of China's one-party rule. If China were to have a multi-party system, it might never have reached its current level of economic development and could even descend into chaos.😂

Totally agree.. besides, INDIA has already fallen into a debt trap without being a rich or a developed or even a middle income country, far from it.. debt to GDP ratio is approaching 90 percent fast.. even at 7 percent interest rates, Indian sovereign bond yield, interest payment will be 6 percent of GDP. Tax collection is 12 to 13 percent of GDP.. its not game on then, its game over.. currently 34 percent of the tax collection is going towards debt servicing only despite tax collection being robust. Corporates dont want to fall into the predicament of the central and state government so are selling stakes to the middle East sovereign funds and PE money in the US hand over fist to pay back loans while the going is good 🙏

If you want to know India, go read the comment section in any Indian news media channel or social page. Everyone is fighting, blaming each other. It's a s**tshow really. Ironically, it is the the division model proposed by Jinnah of all people which would have resulted in more unified entities along the lines you dream of (United Bengal as one country, today's Pakistan as one country, Dravidstan as one country, and Hindustan as the remaining country) is probably the most practical configuration for reasonably united entities. Even then there would have been difficulties uniting the different provinces within each of these larger entities.

Your are right, so many problems with India to compete with China in current scenario ; 1. Infrastructure in India is around 30-40 years behind than China in all aspect, which is playing pivotal role goods transportation, so it will take decades for India to catch up. Just imagine that China used more cement just in 2013-14 than it was used entire century in US. 2. The technical labor force is not easily available so it will take at least 10-15 years to reach the basic requirements, and also women participation is very low as compared to China. 3. China has a very stable govt with no opposition, so, policies are consistent and long term while there are so many political parties in India and ruling different provinces so very difficult on mutual consensuses. 4. There are so many Economic zones in China which were started to developed around 40 years back, and now there are many economic zones, so different cities are famous for different products and more economic zones are being develop, which is not seen in India. 5. BRI is linked with more than 150 countries, which means billions of projects are underway and some are already giving benefits to the economy, but best yet to come. 6. Chinese companies are busy all over the world in infrastructure development, 5G, Telecom sector, Railways, dams, motorways, electronics. All top and most expensive infrastructures are being developed by Chinese companies, India is not 70 yrs behind. 7. 80% of world electronics are made in China, so it will take years to replace, and by that time Chinese mobile companies will be everywhere and apple is expected to go down. 85% of Iphones are made in China, some of it can be shifted to other, but not all. 8. China is leading 5G, AI, Drones, solar energy, wind energy, electric vehicles, electronics, space technology, high speed rail, nanotechnology, agriculture, batteries, etc, while India is far behind. 9. For the first time in history there more Chinese universities than US universities in world top 2000 universities, and this number increased dramatically in last 5 years, while India is so behind. 10. China is mostly self-sufficient while India is depending on outer world for many things. These are some examples and overall, still many fields where India is very behind, and there is no field except population where India can cross China in coming years.

There is one major reason why India cannot become the next China and that is in its leadership. Everyone is horrified at what Mao did in China. He essentially wiped out the ruling class and millions died. So many of his nationwide policies, like the Great Leap Forward, were deemed failures, but his failures affected everyone in the country. However, Mao wiped the slate clean and China has had generations now of new leaders who can write their own ideas onto a clean slate. That’s not India. Many of India’s ruling class are the same as the people that helped the British rule India. India has retained its ruling class. There’s not much change. Look at the great divide between rich and poor. What is happening to the poor in India is heartbreaking. Yet pretty much of the same ruling mentality remains, but it’s now called “democracy”. There’s a second reason why India will not be able to overtake China. Look at the way the two countries treat foreign investment. Apple, for example, has been overwhelmingly successful in China (actually it’s Foxconn, Apple’s Taiwan based contractor, that has been successful). Foxconn pretty much ran sweatshops. Yet the average Chinese worker did his best for all the foreigner investors. It was a win-win situation. The foreign investors made a lot of money ( look at how wealthy Apple is), and the Chinese learnt modern manufacturing and also had a means to provide for their families. Additionally, the Chinese government put its “profits” into improving the country, building housing and infrastructure while also investing in R&D. India’s treatment of foreign investors hasn’t changed. What India wants is not investment but a transfer of technology. It does this by requiring an Indian company-foreign investor partnership. After the foreign investor has been in India for a sufficient amount of time- built a factory, trained workers, paid taxes, what does the foreign investor find? He basically can’t take what profits he makes out of India. The Indian government imposes additional taxes, assesses “fines” and uses other means to keep whatever profits are made in India. For this reason - taking Foxconn again as example - Foxconn, after investing billions in India, has withdrawn from India. For this reason, about 3,000 foreign companies have left India in the last few years. It’s not a win-win situation. This is just my take on the India vs China discussion. It’s the same rapacious mentality as the British had, to squeeze everything they could out of the jewel in their string of colonies, even exporting food from a starving India. In the same way, India is squeezing everything it can out of its foreign investors.

Top 50 ports in the world have 2 Indian in the list and 15 Chinese. Chinese ports handle 250 million containers each year and rising, India handle 17 million, not even top 10, smaller nations like Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Spain and United Arab Emirates have more capability… It will take trillions of dollars in investment to tech Chinas level.

@EnchantedScroll
@EnchantedScroll 9 месяцев назад
Corruption is not the real cause of underdevelopment (sure, it has an effect, but not to the extent people believe). Proof of that is the fact that China has had a corruption problem as well; in just the last decade Xi Xinping had an extensive crackdown on corruption across all levels of the government. Every country in the world including the US, UK, and other developed nations face major corruption issues. The real problem is the economic system of India and the colonial nature of capitalism (rich countries thrive on poor countries, which is why US kept Africa purposely underdeveloped.. how else will they get their "cheap" resources). In 1949, China had a revolution and chose a socialist route. While in 1947, India got independence and chose a capitalist route. We can see the differences in outcome today.. as clear as day.

@EnchantedScroll
@EnchantedScroll 9 месяцев назад
@@gohsiewhau4819 You are correct on that. I am not saying India/US are doing the same. In India and US, government officials at the high level don't have much incentive to take action against corruption. Because they all benefit from it and the system is designed to cater to the capitalist ruling class. So policies that are enacted turn out to first enrich the already rich and the demands of the majority are ignored or given last priority. In China, the tables are turned. After the revolution in 1949, the working class came to power and since then they have managed to maintain power over the capitalist class, even if there were some that were corrupt among their ranks (that's why I am saying corruption is not the core issue). Since China's government doesn't care much about enriching capitalists, the government uses democratic mechanisms to figure out a 5-year plan and politicians have to actually go on the ground and do real work (eg. CPC members lived in rural areas for 1-3 years at a time to understand their local problems and figure out ways to help them rise out of poverty).
@EnchantedScroll
@EnchantedScroll 9 месяцев назад
@@gohsiewhau4819 At it's core, China has a socialist government where capitalists don't have much power.. while US and India have capitalist governments where the people don't have much power. @postahundredcommentsbutonl4408
@postahundredcommentsbutonl4408 8 месяцев назад
 @peterkoi1535 First, Marx is Marx and Lenin is Lenin. Marx is thought, Lenin is religion. Marx said: The Code is the Bible of people's freedom. Lenin, Stalin, and Mao Zedong treated the law like toilet paper. So Singapore Lee Kuan Yew: I have never opposed the ideals of Marxism, but I firmly oppose the methodology of Leninism. Second, in 1954, China's various per capita data, especially the urbanization rate and per capita education time, were basically the same as South Korea. In 1976, South Korea was far behind China. This is especially true for Singapore, Taiwan Province of China, and Hong Kong City of China. Why can China develop? It is precisely because China abolished Lenin's religion and Western liberalism and restored Confucian collectivism after 1978 that it achieved its current glory. Chinese leaders after Deng Xiaoping suppressed Lenin's religious elements more harshly than they suppressed Western liberalism. Remember the Communist Party of Singapore? That is, the Socialist Front, their support rate once exceeded that of the Singapore People's Action Party. and after? Lee Kuan Yew initiated several rounds of debates in newspapers. Involving work, housing, medical care, education and urbanization and industrialization. As a result, the Barisan Sosialis would only recite the "scripture" there, "As long as the proletariat overthrows the bourgeoisie, the people will be happy. As long as all the rich people are XXXX, the people will be happy." Lee Kuan Yew asked them what specifically they wanted to do? Where does the land for housing come from? Where do the cement, sand and steel bars come from? The Singapore Socialist Front was dumbfounded and could not tell any specific content and continued to recite scriptures. After several rounds of debates, the Socialist Front collapsed. The people can see that these people are just talking talk.

India has 100s of problems that China doesn't. From our education system to bureaucracy everything needs a massive overhaul and proper replacement. Most of the educated Indians would run to developed countries at the drop of the hat if provided an opportunity, plus intelligent Indians leave India because of the hurdles they face in our country be it flawed bureaucracy and justice system, corruption, deteriorating ease of doing business. We embraced democracy without clearing the existing problems, more like we are an immature democracy compared to usa. Chinese students head back to China to work for their country but what percentage of Indians do that ? Almost negligible. Why ? There is nothing needed to add to your comment.... Only note, one should look into Thailand vs. S'pore for the future. For S'pore Aline with USA and the Thai Canal, also known as Kra Canal or Kra Isthmus Canal come to light, Singapore will be a desert in transit trade in the future because of their agreement for the US Navel Fleets. d

I lived in the States for 10 years, and now I am in China. I have to say that most Chinese people have a strong awareness that we are Chinese, not the appendant of Westerners, not like most of the countries that used to be Western colonies. And to keep this awareness, Chinese people sacrificed a lot from the Opium War (1840-1842) till now. Thanks to the spiritual wealth of our ancestors from the past thousands of years, and those people who did not want to be slaves and sacrificed themselves to fight for the freedom of the nation. And they made it! And also thanks to those people who supported us from other countries. Special thanks to our enemies, what did not kill us made us stronger. Love and peace!

I think China has progressed because she was able to throw out the chains of the past. Even before the the Europeans, the biggest enemy of the Chinese people was their tradition - what has been going on for thousands of years and therefore cannot be stopped - no matter how unjust it may be. But communism changed all that. It's "the sixteen points" of Cultural Revolution that helped China match her step with the modern world. If you want to see what your country would look like without the cultural makeover, look at the south of your border.

@@maaenterprise1491 You just said the opposite. If China's Deng Xiaoping had not suppressed Leninists and Western liberals, would China have today's urbanized and industrialized mainland? If Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew had not suppressed Leninists and Western liberals, would there be today’s urbanized and industrialized Singapore? After World War II, only Confucian collectivist areas completed urbanization and industrialization.

All good points raised in the video. Another thing, India feel sour about foreign company making profits in India. It will pass new laws to trap capitals from leaving India even though it's the company's own money. And it is retroactive. It will do whatever to protect India's "interest" by making new laws to screw with foreign firms that are looking for business opportunity in India. Just ask Microsoft, Ford, Tesla, Xiaomi, Wistron, Foxconn, etc....That's why Huawei demanded for the 1000 EV bus India ordered, India needs to make full payment in advance. Huawei is not playing that game.

One more point to add: China's central government has full control of nation wide economic policies while giving local authorities certain degree of autonomy. It is able to mobilize the entire nation's resources to achieve economic goals. India, on the other hand, has a federal system, in which the central government has little control over local policies. This explains the stagnation of India's manufacture sector despite Modi's grand Made In India dream.
