Good morning Martin, I remember the love that you have for The Church. I have been watching your videos for at least ten years now. I try not to miss any of them. Its funny in a way. I started to listen to them when they released their second album The Blurred Crusade. I remember them adding two songs on the US release of the debut that were not on the UK release. The songs Sisters and Too Fast For You were not on the UK release. Our cover art was different too. BTW. Those 7" record boxes are becoming quite collectible. Whenever I see them at garage sales or anywhere else I ask to buy them. I usuallt leave the records in them behind unless they are really worth taking. I am not taking home records that I will not listen to anymore. I will grab them if I know that they are collectible. But most of the times I am not going to find a copy of the Pistols 'God Save The Queen' or any original Cabaret Voltaire/Durutti Column advanced pressings on Factory. Anyways. Hi Martin. I watched half of this video two weeks ago then forgot to come back to it, so I have now. Good to see someone show 'Chill Out'. I was very into that album in the nineties and used it to 'come down' from many naughty Saturday nights. When I met my partner in the early noughties I played it for her and she didn't get on with it at all, but then again that's true of most music so I shouldn't read too much into that. Btw, your Egyptian record at the 9:00 mark looks to be by Om Kathoum (that may or may not be the correct spelling), judging by the silhouette on the cover. She is one of the most commercially successful singers of all time apparently; I only know about her because Robert Plant mentioned her a few times in interviews back in the day so I downloaded some of her songs. I don't remember making much of them though. The blurb on that 'Speak Well' record is truly outrageous. Be in touch soon.
Wow. Can't believe you have that KLF "Chill Out" album. It's fantastic and quite hard to find. Great to see it as the first one shown on your list and wonderful to see Sisters of Mercy, Transvision Vamp and The Church's debut lp too! Cool list. Enjoyed watching thanks.
Hey. I was working in a record shop when chill out came out so had alot of first dibs back then. You know there's a British road journey version similar right? It's by the FLK.
Hi Rob. The Church are touring the US so maybe catch them.....? I have those two tracks you mentioned on the double compilation 'Hindsight'. You are right often garage sales and suchlike aren't great but I'll tend to buy the lot if cheap and keep what i need moving the rest on or take to charity shops.

Hi John, or as younger people say about overplayed tunes: 'well rinsed out' (probably 20 years out of date too). I just figured I listened to those 80/90s ones a huge amount of times and probably know most of the words too.

Hi Mike, Nightwish is one of the more recent bands still going I actually listen to. In that genre only really a very small handful i dabble in, have you heard of Beast in black that often support them?

A truly weird bunch of records. I have that Paul McCartney comp. too. After owning it for 25 years i happened to learn that there are different versions of it with different track listings. For once happily i learned to own the version with the track listing most to my taste. I have been once to Birmingham to a meeting, not a vc, but music related group meeting. that's a very varied list thanks for sharing. I really like Chameleons partly because they remind me of The Church my favourite band. Marquee Moon is so listenable again and again too. The only one I cannot get into is Keith Jarrett.

Hi Martin, that Barbra Streisand is a wild concept record. A bit hit and miss but it's by far the one that is the most experimental of her releases. The Egyptian record is undoubtedly Our Khalsoum, who is often regarded as the greatest singer in the Arabic language. She would record a lot of her live outings which were usually extended jams. Out Khalsoum was the real deal.
I'm glad you can fill in some info on this because it's not easy to find out about Arabic, Hebrew or Russian is it? Yes Barbara Streisand isn't usually on my playlist is an understatement unless I was particularly cheesy mood. I think we just have to try different even the straight artists sometimes. So Arsenal started with a win and Kane bottles it and goes to Germany looking for a winners medal 😅

I didn't know about the Richard Dawkins tie-in with the track The Greatest Show on Earth, though I have read Dawkins' book. I am going to have to listen to that. The Speak Well record is hilarious. Blue Rodeo's best record is the debut, so you don't need any further records from them 🤭😹 I hope the new job is going well.
I was at the London show few years ago when he was invited to come on stage and read out his part in that track. Nightwish are one of the best bands live I've ever seen live so consistent and don't disappoint. I like the debates RD has with an Irish guy called John Lennox.
That "Brahmachari" record is an old Indian Bollywood soundtrack, originally released in 1967.... don't know when this Pakistani version was issued. Do listen to the track "aaj kal tere mere...." you'll love it. 😊

Likewise. Actually not been to Southampton or the fair there but from other folks seems like it's a half decent one. Occasionally I go up to London and less than a handful of times a year I sell at fairs which actually I enjoy. I've seen your channel few times but maybe I'd not thought of much intelligent to say 🙃😁😂

Hi Carl, just the odd suprise from me, until 1990/91 my musical tastes were very mainstream to say the least. Then I went to work in a record shop and everything changed overnight.
Hey Martin I've avoided doing this thread because there are no records in my collection i play the most regularly however, those i've PLAYED the MOST, is more interesting, so i may do a video based on that . Like you, i don't think i can ever listen to Out of Time ever again..Murmur, on the other hand.... Hope the new job is working out..who is organising this meet up in Brum?.
They only fit if I break them into quarters. I've few vinyl albums (weirdly their live one is worth alot) but I think most of CDs though I prefer Floor Jansen and later ones as I was late to the party).
